~ Quote of the day ~

Raison d'tre
KeelyNet "This is the true joy in life: To being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. To being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

KeelyNet I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work, the more I live.

I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

09/30/16 - BuzzFeed Hilariously Edits Its Own Poll Showing Huge Support For Trump

    KeelyNet

BuzzFeed recently published a presidential preference poll for their readership to take part in. A day or so later, they felt the need to update it because they felt the results no longer accurately reflects the opinions of real people.

Take three guesses as to what the results were showing. Polls are something that many media outlets do. They're a quick thing that will catch peoples attention during a heated presidential cycle and will hopefully get the public to click on the outlet's website.

Undoubtedly, BuzzFeed also did this figuring that the poll would have a strong showing for Hillary Clinton, showing given the site's tendency to openly criticize her opponent. That, however, didnt turn out to be the case. - BuzzFeed Hilariously Edits Its Own Poll Showing Huge Support For Trump

09/30/16 - More older adults spending golden years in homelessness
About half of the homeless in the United States are people 50 or older, studies show. The number of older homeless adults is projected to increase by 33 percent in the next decade and double by 2050. "We're at the beginning of the wave and have an opportunity to not only improve the quality of life of these homeless and formerly homeless elders, but also extend their lives," said Katrina Van Valkenburgh, central region managing director for CSH, also known as the Corporation for Supportive Housing.

The average life expectancy for a homeless older adult is 63 years, compared with 80 for someone who always has had stable housing, she said. Leaders from across the Midwest are meeting in Columbus this week to talk about helping this aging homeless population get into and keep affordable housing. The two-day event is hosted by CSH and National Church Residences, which specializes in low-income and affordable senior housing.

It kicked off on Tuesday with a tour of two supportive housing properties owned by National Church Residences. Today, housing experts from across the country are meeting. Aging adults who have been homeless experience chronic illnesses and geriatric conditions 15 to 20 years earlier than the general population, said Dr. Margot Kushel, a professor of medicine at the University of California-San Francisco who followed 350 homeless people in Oakland, California.

Although the median age of the participants was 58, they had more trouble bathing, dressing and eating than many in their 70s, 80s and 90s, Kushel said. They also had a harder time using transportation, taking medication, managing money, applying for benefits and arranging job interviews. One answer is creating more affordable and supportive housing the theme of today's gathering. Supportive housing complexes provide tenants with tailored services such as life-skills training, alcohol and drug abuse programs and case management so they can have more stable, productive lives.

Though supportive housing has been available for people who have been homeless or have struggled with addiction or mental illness for decades, they need to be adapted to the unique needs of older residents, Kushel said. Rooms, for instance, need good lighting and grab bars in the bathroom. Many residents also could use personal-care attendants to help them bathe and get dressed. - More older adults spending golden years in homelessness

09/30/16 - Internal 'clock' makes some people age faster and die younger regardless of lifestyle
Scientists have found the most definitive evidence yet that some people are destined to age quicker and die younger than others - regardless of their lifestyle. The findings could explain the seemingly random and unfair way that death is sometimes dealt out, and raise the intriguing future possibility of being able to extend the natural human lifespan. You get people who are vegan, sleep 10 hours a day, have a low-stress job, and still end up dying young, said Steve Horvath, a biostatistician who led the research at the University of California, Los Angeles. Weve shown some people have a faster innate ageing rate.

A higher biological age, regardless of actual age, was consistently linked to an earlier death, the study found. For the 5% of the population who age fastest, this translated to a roughly 50% greater than average risk of death at any age. Intriguingly, the biological changes linked to ageing are potentially reversible, raising the prospect of future treatments that could arrest the ageing process and extend the human lifespan. The great hope is that we find anti-ageing interventions that would slow your innate ageing rate, said Horvath. This is an important milestone to realising this dream.

Horvaths ageing clock relies on measuring subtle chemical changes, in which methyl compounds attach or detach from the genome without altering the underlying code of our DNA. His team previously found that methyl levels at 353 specific sites on the genome rise and fall according to a very specific pattern as we age - and that the pattern is consistent across the population. The latest study, based on an analysis of blood samples from 13,000 people, showed that some people are propelled along lifes biological tramlines much quicker than others regardless of lifestyle.

We see people aged 20 who are fast agers and we look at them 20 years later and they are still fast agers, said Horvath. The big picture here is that this is an innate process. The scientists found that known health indicators, such as smoking, blood pressure and weight, were still more valuable in predicting life expectancy in the 2,700 participants who had died since the study began, but that their underlying aging rate also had a significant effect.

In a fictional example, the scientists compare two 60-year-old men, Peter, whose ageing rate ranks in the top 5% and Joe, whose rate is in the slowest 5%. If both are smokers and have stressful jobs, Peter is given a 75% chance of dying in the next 10 years compared to a 46% chance for Joe. This is not the first time that scientists have observed so-called epigenetic changes to the genome with age, but previously these were put down to wear-and-tear brought about by environmental factors, rather than indicating the ticking of an internal biological clock.

Wolf Reik, a professor of epigenetics at the University of Cambridge who was not involved in the work, said: It now looks like you get a clock given to you when youre young. It gets wound up and the pace its ticking at is dictated by this epigenetic machinery. Im sure insurance companies are already quite interested in this kind of thing, he added. Horvath said he has no plans to market the test, which costs around $300 per sample in his lab, but admits he has run his own blood through the analysis.

Im currently 48 and the test indicated I was 5 years older, which I wasnt too pleased about, he said, but adds that for an individual factors like blood pressure and smoking were more decisive. My innate ageing rate is too fast to become a centenarian, but otherwise Im not too worried about it. The study, published in the journal Aging, suggests that accelerated ageing rather than simply a riskier lifestyle could explain why men die younger. Even by the age of five, Horvath said, the different speeds of aging between genders was apparent and by the age of 40 a biological age gap of 1-2 years opens up. Women always age a little bit more slowly than men, he said. Its not lifestyle its this innate ageing process that favours women. - Internal 'clock' makes some people age faster and die younger regardless of lifestyle

09/30/16 - Supercapacitor Breakthrough for Better Energy Storage
Research by a German team could aid the superconductor industry by improving capacitance by an order of magnitude compared to current approaches. The researchers identified the improvement when using a "hybrid mix" of potassium ferricyanide in aqueous media. In a paper titled "High-Performance Hybrid Energy Storage with Potassium Ferricyanide Redox Electrolyte," the team from the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM) in Saarbrcken also described how they overcame current leakage with an ion-exchange membrane.

The team, led by Professor Volker Presser of INMs Energy Materials program division, found the hybrid medium had an energy capacity of 28.3 watt-hours per kilogram, or 11.4 watt-hours per liter. This nears the 30-watt-hours-per-kilogram upper limit for current supercapacitor products and is higher compared to the same cell operated in aqueous sodium sulfate, said the team.

The researchers also noted excellent long-term stability across 10,000 charge and discharge cycles. This hybrid electrochemical energy storage system is believed to find a strong foothold in future advanced energy storage applications, concluded the studys authors. Lu Zhang, a scientist at Argonne National Laboratory in the U.S., said the redox electrolyte was a key aspect of the research. This ferricyanide redox electrolyte can provide a higher capacity, [delivering] higher power out of the devices with this chemistry, he said.

Another important finding is the ion-selective membrane. That is another key component to maintain the capacitance here, preventing the cells discharge, which would lead to the degradation of the capacitance," said Zhang. He said the research could be used to build supercapacitors that would last longer in a steady state without discharging: You dont want self-discharge happening. When you charge the capacitors, you want the energy holding there for as long as possible.

While traditional capacitors are based on two charged plates separated by an insulating material, recent supercapacitor research has focused on ionic liquid electrolytes that can operate at higher voltages. INMs hybrid approach opens up a new line of investigation that might help widen the range of supercapacitor applications down the line. The supercapacitor is a very promising addition to other battery technologies, Zhang said. It presents very unique features."

It can have a very good power ability. Thats actually very useful in many situations. If you are driving an electric car, you need a lot of energy input within a very short time. That kind of power output is not being provided by the battery. There is already growing interest in the use of supercapacitors for transportation, not just because of their high power capacity but also because they can be charged very quickly.

In Switzerland, for example, ABB is using the technology to charge electric buses in as little as 3 to 5 minutes. ABB has also been involved in a project to use supercapacitors on Southern Pennsylvania Transit Authority trains, as a way of recovering braking energy to earn money on the PJM frequency regulation market. And in 2011, Elon Musk famously predicted supercapacitors would be better than lithium-ion batteries at powering electric vehicles. However, Tesla has yet to incorporate supercapacitor technology into its vehicles, and it is said Musk now believes his original analysis was flawed.

But even if INMs approach helps to overcome some of the technologys current shortcomings, the chemistry could still prove difficult to commercialize. The materials involved are readily available and therefore may not cost much, but the presence of potentially hazardous cyanide compounds in the mix might raise safety concerns. Depending on what kind of concentration youre going to use, it could be dangerous, admitted Zhang. Going into the application, all those hazards have to be evaluated. - Supercapacitor Breakthrough for Better Energy Storage

09/30/16 - Scientists Have Discovered A Way To Kill Superbugs Without Antibiotics
Shu Lam, a graduate student at the University of Melbourne, has a simple solution: Impale the little buggers. Lam has developed a polymer that forms a star shape, called a structurally nanoengineered antimicrobial peptide polymer, or SNAPP. The polymer seeks out superbugs and wrecks them in a number of ways, most importantly by ripping up their cell walls. Much like you and I dont do very well when weve gotten a bunch of stab wounds, the cell wall punctures put so much stress on the superbug cell it collapses.

Lam is being cautious, noting that shes only tested it on six superbugs and only done one live trial with mice. But the polymer consistently works, across generations of superbugs, and more importantly, it appears to leave the cells we want alive undamaged. It also opens up a new avenue to preventing infections without antibiotics, which will be a useful avenue of research in the years to come. - Scientists Have Discovered A Way To Kill Superbugs Without Antibiotics

09/30/16 - Why do police shoot to kill?
Police officers sometimes must make split-second decisions, under pressure, about whether or not to fire their weapon. It's not an easy job. But some of those killed by police in recent years have been unarmed, sparking outrage in communities across the US and raising questions. Why did the police have to kill these people? Are there other ways to defuse a potentially dangerous situation without someone getting fatally shot?

Why don't police officers shoot to wound? - Officers are trained to "shoot to stop," which often results in a homicide, Alexander said. They aim for the center mass of a person's chest because it is the target they are most certain to hit and is most likely to take the suspect down. Even a skilled marksman would have difficulty hitting a suspect's arm or leg in a fast-moving situation. And a wounded suspect could still possibly shoot the officer or someone else.

Why do officers fire so many shots? - Most officers today carry semi-automatic pistols instead of revolvers. Two decades ago, officers were trained to fire one or two rounds from their revolvers and then assess whether they needed to keep shooting. But now officers are trained to assess the threat level while firing, which means the officer may pull the trigger multiple times before the suspect has fallen, Alexander said. - Why do police shoot to kill?

09/30/16 - Big city lawyer threatened to sue this country farmer for everything, but the farmer has other plans
KeelyNet A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Tennessee. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmers field on the other side of a fence.

As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing.

The litigator responded, I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now Im going to retrieve it.

The old farmer replied, This is my property, and you are not coming over here.

The indignant lawyer said, I am one of the best trial attorneys in the United States and, if you dont let me get that duck, Ill sue you and take everything you own.

The old farmer smiled and said, Apparently, you dont know how we settle disputes in Tennessee. We settle small disagreements like this with the Three Kick Rule.'

The lawyer asked, What is the Three Kick Rule?

The Farmer replied, Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up.

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel toed work boot into the lawyers groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyers last meal gushing from his mouth. The lawyer was on all fours when the farmers third kick to his rear end sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet. Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, Okay. Now its my turn.

The old farmer smiled and said, Naw, I give up. You can have the duck.

09/30/16 - Physicists Have Figured Out How to Create Matter and Antimatter Using Light
A team of researchers from the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IAP RAS) has just announced that they managed to calculate how to create matter and antimatter using lasers. This means that, by focusing high-powered laser pulses, we may soon be able to create matter and antimatter using light.

To break this down a bit, light is made of high-energy photons. When high-energy photons go through strong electric fields, they lose enough radiation that they become gamma rays and create electron-positron pairs, thus creating a new state of matter.

A strong electric field can, generally speaking, boil the vacuum, which is full of virtual particles, such as electron-positron pairs. The field can convert these types of particles from a virtual state, in which the particles arent directly observable, to a real one, says Igor Kostyukov of IAP RAS who references their calculations on the concept of quantum electrodynamics (QED).

A QED cascade is a series of processes that starts with electrons and positrons accelerating within a laser field. It will then be followed by the release of high-energy photons, electrons, and positrons. As high-energy photons decay, it will produce electron-positron pairs. Essentially, a QED cascade will lead to the production of electron positron high-energy photon plasmasand while it perfectly illustrates the QED phenomenon, it is a theory that has yet to be observed under lab conditions.

As has been previously noted, making this potential power source is not cheap: The problem lies in the efficiency and cost of antimatter production and storage. Making 1 gram of antimatter would require approximately 25 million billion kilowatt-hours of energy and cost over a million billion dollars. This work offers us a new way forward. Their study also offers major insight into the properties of different types of interactions that could eventually pave the way for practical applications, including the development of advanced ideas for the laser-plasma sources of high-energy photos and positrons that will exceed the brilliance of any available source we have today.

Next, were exploring the nonlinear stage when the self-generated electron-positron plasma strongly modifies the interaction, the researchers add. And well also try to expand our results to more general configurations of the lasermatter interactions and other regimes of interactions taking a wider range of parameters into consideration. - Physicists Have Figured Out How to Create Matter and Antimatter Using Light

09/30/16 - Inside the world of men who've sworn never to sleep with women again
Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) believe men are always victims in relationships. Tens of thousands of men have formed a real-life online community called MGTOW, or Men Going Their Own Way. Their first rule? Abandoning all romantic relationships with women.

On Reddit alone, some 15,000 readers are subscribed to the MGTOW page which declares it is for "men going our own way by forging our own identities and paths to self-defined success; cutting through collective ideas of what a man is. Other websites including MGTOW.com are also dedicated to what they see as each man's fight for sovereignty of himself. And despite their hatred for women, homosexuality isn't accepted, either.

Posts on the Reddit page offer an insight into their world: They range from worrying that future sex bots will be hacked by central government, to encouraging men to divorce their wives. They also debate how "even men in Hollywood" are cuckolded and wronged by women. Others discuss the merits of visiting prostitutes, and how pop songs are feminist propaganda. The more you scroll, the darker it becomes.

One recent post described how women fake orgasms often, because it makes men more submissive. Another talked of ditching his blue pill friends. Others proudly declare that they are still virgins. The MGTOW forum on Reddit, which has more than 15,000 readers - I want sex and company, but I dont want/cant put in the effort to get it, wrote another user on the MGTOW.com forum. The MGTOW community has a pretty clear set of expectations for themselves and the wider world that are based in meninism: a counteraction to feminism which sees womens rights directly disadvantage men.

While feminists might argue that their movement aims to help both men and women break free of harmful gender stereotypes, meninists disagree. To them, men are the victims of heterosexual relationships, comparable to a horse with a cart strapped it its back. MGTOWs borrow heavily from pop-culture to explain their beliefs, particularly the film the Matrix where the Chosen One chooses to reject his blinkered "blue pill" life in favour of the awareness offered by the "red pill".

The ultimate goal for MGTOWs is total freedom from societal constraints - known as Level 4. Level 0 involves taking the red pill and recognising gender equality is a sham. Level one sees a man rejecting long-term relationships but engaging in sexual encounters, which he will reject in level two. As the MGTOW movement is entangled with alt-right and libertarian politics, the third step sees the man focusing on earning money in order to sustain himself. - Inside the world of men who've sworn never to sleep with women again

This is actually a variation of an old eRumor that was originally reported by TruthorFiction.com in 2007. Click here to view our findings.

Snopes Debunks Article On Illegal Aliens Sorta - This list of stats about Californias illegal alien problem has been going around for awhile. I wanted to see what Snopes thought of it. Their tone was condescending and dismissive (obviously, they are leftists) but their refutations were weak.

Cost of Illegal Immigrants FactCheck - Q: Do illegal immigrants cost $338.3 billion dollars a year? More than the Iraq war? A: A chain e-mail that makes this claim is loaded with errors and misleading assertions. Published studies vary widely but put the cost to government at a small fraction of that total.

Still, they are illegal and if we follow our laws, they all have to go or become legal to be a citizen.

The biggest factor of why Seniors are losing more and more benefits. They are getting blamed for the country going broke. This has gone out to almost two million people. It's easy to dismiss individual programs that benefit non-citizens until they're put together and this picture emerges. Someone did a lot of research to put together all of this data. Often these programs are buried within other programs making them difficult to find.

09/25/16 - Hackers Offer a DIY Alternative To The $600 EpiPen

    KeelyNet

After the pharmaceutical company Mylan raised the price of a 2-pen set of EpiPens by nearly $500 over the course of 9 years, Michael Laufer and his "pharma-hacking confederates at the Four Thieves Vinegar Collective," decided to make their own budget-friendly EpiPens. IEEE Spectrum reports: Today they released a video and instructions showing DIYers how to make a generic EpiPen using materials that can be bought online for about $30. They call it the EpiPencil.

"It functions just as well as an EpiPen," Laufer says in the video, after demonstrating the assembly and showing that it works. "With no special training, anybody can use it."

An EpiPen is just a spring-loaded syringe filled with the pharmaceutical epinephrine. Laufer's video shows how to assemble the "open source medical device" and provides links for where to buy the components online. He stops short of telling viewers how to get their hands on the drug, noting that you need a prescription for it.

But Laufer tells IEEE Spectrum in an interview that it's easy to buy epinephrine online from a chemical supplier, and he hopes viewers will do just that. "There's a small but hopefully growing subculture of people who are buying the active ingredients of drugs," he says. "It's encouraging to see people take control of their own health." - Hackers Offer a DIY Alternative To The $600 EpiPen

09/25/16 - Dronesurfing: A new sport takes flight
A professional cinematographic company called Freefly used a drone, the Freefly Alta 8, on a day with minimal waves to help pull their boarder across the water. While the drone does have a 20-pound maximum cargo limit, it is able to pull a person across the water (after getting a running start).

To do a little dronesurfing, you do still need the help of a second person by means of controlling the drone, which could be both good and bad. Its similar to someone driving a boat in front of you, but the one with the controls will more than likely be on the beach and unable to see what exactly is going on out in the water. An addition to the drone could be the ability to possibly pull up the surfer out of potential harm (once that 20-pound limit is changed).

As of now, the Alta 8 costs a whopping $17,500, so its not something the average wave-rider can go out and purchase without some serious consideration. Even so, with the idea out in the world. its only a matter of time before a company creates a drone both powerful and affordable enough to allow dronesurfing to become an established sport. - Dronesurfing: A new sport takes flight

09/25/16 - Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan Announce $3 Billion Initiative To 'Cure All Diseases'
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a company created by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan to "unlock human potential and promote equality," today announced "Chan Zuckerberg Science," a $3 billion project that aims to cure, prevent, or manage "all diseases in our children's lifetime."

"That doesn't mean that no one will ever get sick," Mark Zuckerberg later said. But the program hopes to eventually make all diseases treatable -- or at least easily manageable -- by the end of the 21st century. "Our society spends 50x more treating people who are sick than on finding cures. We can do better than that," said Zuckerberg.

A press release from the Initiative says Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan will provide "at least $3 billion over the next decade to help jumpstart this work." "The plan," as Zuckerberg called it, is to "bring scientists and engineers together, build tools and technology, [and] grow the movement to fund science."

That plan includes a program called Biohub, a partnership between Stanford University, Berkeley, and UCSF that "will focus on understanding underlying mechanisms of disease and developing new technologies which will lead to actionable diagnostics and effective therapies." - Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan Announce $3 Billion Initiative To 'Cure All Diseases'

09/25/16 - Drone Racing: ESPNs Newest Televised Sport
ESPN is betting that speeding drones will be the next noncontact sport to find a mass audience. The Drone Racing League announced on Wednesday that it had signed deals to broadcast a 10-episode season on ESPN and ESPN2, along with the European stations Sky Sports Mix and 7Sports. The schedule begins with an introduction to drone racing on Thursday at 11 p.m. on ESPN2.

Competition will begin on Oct. 23. ESPN2 will broadcast episodes on Thursday and Saturday nights, and ESPN will show the final episodes, including the two-hour championship on Nov. 20. Drone racing? It would be fair to wonder what that is. The technology to race drones is just a few years old, as is the technology to compellingly film them racing.

The leagues officials say the drones will zip through obstacle-filled courses at up to 80 miles per hour, piloted by six stationary humans wearing something akin to a virtual reality headset. Tiny cameras mounted on the drones offer the pilots a cockpit-like view, and they steer using joysticks similar to what youd find on an Xbox controller. Its an exciting, real-life experience mixed with video-gamelike dynamics, said Nicholas Horbaczewski, the chief executive and founder of the league. These races are short sprints. 09/25/16 - Oliver Stones American History: Were Not under Threat. We Are the Threat
KeelyNet American controversies are Oliver Stones forte. The Hollywood movie director has turned his cameras on the assassination of John F Kennedy, the Vietnam War and the 9/11 attacks. But, when researching his television series, The Untold History of the United States, it was American exploits in the Middle East that left him with the most lasting impression, he told Middle East Eye on Wednesday.

When I studied the untold history, one thing that really hit me hard was the history of our involvement in the Middle East, Stone said. It was a nefarious involvement. Stone traces Washingtons hand in the region back to the 1930s, but he says it reached a peak when President George HW Bush sent hundreds of thousands of US troops to liberate Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion of 1990. The Soviet Union had recently collapsed and the region was wide open to a lone superpower, he said. We never got out of there. Once we were in, were in forever, Stone said.

Weve destabilised the entire region, created chaos. And then we blame ISIS for the chaos we created, he added, referring to the Islamic State (IS) group that now rules swathes of Iraq and Syria.

Stone researched and wrote the series and book with Peter Kuznick, a scholar at the American University who specialises in the US nuclear strikes on Japan that ended the Second World War. Its all about the oil. You remember the bumper sticker: What is our oil doing under their sand? Kuznick told MEE. Washingtons hunger for fuel underpins its alliance with Saudi Arabia, the CIA-backed coup against Iranian prime minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953 and its support for anti-Soviet religious militants in Afghanistan in the 1980s, he said.

We create these messes, then we have a grand military plan to solve them. And the military solutions just dont work, he said. The views of Stone and Kuznick are not likely to raise eyebrows on the streets of Cairo, Moscow or Paris. But in the US they are not mainstream.

The way Stone tells it, Americans live in a bubble and are spoon-fed information by a school system, politicians and a media that portrays the US as a beacon of stability and a force for good in the world. In one famous example, former President Ronald Reagan called the US a shining city on a hill. Its very comforting to be an American, Stone said.

You get the sense that you are safe and have prosperity of material goods, and that you have enemies everywhere Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. You get into this cocoon where you have a big country, two oceans, but that youre always under threat. Stone says he understands this well because he lived it himself. He was raised in New York, the son of a Republican stockbroker, Louis Stone. He was always creative he often wrote short plays to entertain his family but never questioned how his history teachers puffed up the US, he said. I had only gotten a part of the story, which emphasised American exceptionalism, America as a selfless and beneficial country to the world, he said.

He has also interviewed foreign statesmen who defy Washington from the Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro to the ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Untold History of the United States, a 10-part documentary series and a 750-page book, offers Americans an alternate perspective on US history from the Second World War through the Cold War to the present day. Stone says he wants to counter the educational crime of misleading American schoolchildren. American exceptionalism has to be driven out of our curriculums, he said. Were not under threat. We are the threat. - Oliver Stones American History: Were Not under Threat. We Are the Threat

09/25/16 - The First Artificial Wombs: Researchers grow human embryos in a laboratory
KeelyNet A pregnancy test is usually done via markers detecting hormones in specific substances like urine and blood. At the very beginning, though, these hormone levels are just too low to register a positive test. Without actually looking into the womb, nobody can watch fertilized eggs grow. Yes, we understand the process going on, as the embryo (which is basically a mass of cells called blastocyst) starts dropping its outer layer to implant within the uterine lining.

However, only a couple of weeks ago researchers from Rockefeller University were the first to witness and even raise human embryos in a laboratory for the maximum ethically allowable time of 13 days.

The Rockefeller researchers managed to grow an embryo in a lab by giving it insulin and other nutrients so that no lining was necessary. The interesting observation demonstrated that an embryo itself contains the genetic instruction manual for its own development. After only an initial sharing process, its not dependent on the mother.

The scientists, of course, wont start to grow babies in a lab overnight, but they see lots of promise for the development of new models to human growth and valuable insights into why some pregnancies fail.

09/25/16 - This tiny solar-powered device kills 99.999 percent of bacteria
KeelyNet A tiny new device may help change that. Developed by researchers at the Department of Energys SLAC National Accelerator at Stanford University, the device is about half the size of a postage stamp and uses solar energy to disinfect water with bacterial contamination. The researchers reported their experiments in a paper this week in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.

People often use one of two methods to disinfect germ-ridden water in regions that lack a pure source: boiling or placing plastic water bottles in direct sunlight so the ultraviolet rays can kill microbes. The problem is, boiling uses fuel and the UV method may take up to 48 hours without even fully disinfecting the water.

In an effort to find a more effective and energy-efficient technique, Stanford researcher Yi Cui and his team developed the nanostructure device, made up of fingerprint-like arrangements of copper and a photocatalytic chemical called molybdenum disulfide. When struck by light, the walled structures release hydrogen peroxide and other bactericidal chemicals, which destroy the harmful bacteria and quickly dissolve.

Our device looks like a little rectangle of black glass, lead author and PhD researcher Chong Liu said in a press release. We just dropped it into the water and put everything under the sun, and the sun did all the work. Although their experiments killed 99.999 percent of bacteria in 20 minutes, Cui admits that the device need further research and development. For one thing, the trials only tested the device on small amounts of water and three strains of bacteria. In other words, the experiments lacked the complex mixture of contaminants often found in the real world. However, Cui remains optimistic: Its very exciting to see that by just designing a material you can achieve a good performance. It really works. - This tiny solar-powered device kills 99.999 percent of bacteria

09/25/16 - Airbus Plans to Build Autonomous Flying Taxis
Billing it as a solution to urban congestion, Airbus has announced a new effort to build helicopter-like autonomous flying vehicles to transport both small parcels and, even more radically, passengers. The battery-powered passenger vehicles, currently dubbed CityAirbus, would be summoned by smartphone and travel along aerial urban roadways, constituting a system of robotic flying taxis.

There are hurdles, however. Airbus says one of the biggest unsolved challenges is in so-called sense and avoid technologyan airborne version of the self-driving systems that are still in an imperfect state on the ground. Strange as it sounds, flying vehicles arguably have an advantage over cars on that front, since they have to deal with fewer obstacles and can move in three dimensions to avoid collisions, instead of just two.

The other challenges for such a scheme lie in regulation and security. Lawmakers, Airbus has acknowledged, are certain to be leery of automated systems flying above the same densely-peopled cities theyre intended to make more efficient.

A large part of that hesitation is rooted in the threat of hacking. As researchers have shown in recent years, even todays semi-smart cars are sometimes subject to remote takeover. While security is a high priority for the Airbus project, theres still little evidence that its even possible to build a system that cant be hackedmaking heavy drones into potential playthings for all sorts of bad actors. - Airbus Plans to Build Autonomous Flying Taxis

09/20/16 - No one will own cars by 2025: Lyft president
Lyft co-founder and president John Zimmer predicts that the popularity of self-driving cars will mean most people who live in major US cities won't buy cars by 2025. He thinks ride-hailing companies like his will run fleets of autonomous vehicles. John Zimmer: Heres how Lyft will roll out its driverless cars - Lyft trying to keep up with its longtime ride-hailing competitor Uber, which just rolled out a self-driving pilot in Pittsburgh is being more explicit about what company president John Zimmer has dubbed the third transportation revolution. Zimmer laid out that plan in a Medium post published today, titled The Third Transportation Revolution: Lyfts Vision for the Next Ten Years and Beyond.

In the post, he described efforts to roll out self-driving cars in three phases, the first of which will likely be available by 2017. In that phase, semi-autonomous cars will be made available to Lyft users, but will only drive along fixed routes that the technology is guaranteed to be able to navigate. This plan comes after nearly a year after Lyft began its foray into the future of transportation in January 2016 General Motors invested $500 million in the company in exchange for a 10 percent stake and an agreement to build a network of self-driving cars together.

In the second phase, the self-driving cars in the fleet will navigate more than just the fixed routes, but will only drive up to 25 miles per hour. As the technology matures and the software encounters more complex environments, Zimmer wrote, cars will get faster.

The third phase, which according to the graph the company expects to be sometime in 2021 or 2022, will be when all Lyft rides will be completed by a fully autonomous car. Shortly after that phase begins, car ownership will see a steep dropoff, according to Zimmer. Zimmer, who has long been a vocal proponent of ending car ownership, set a date for the death of the personally owned car: 2025. Zimmers argument in short: People wont own cars, theyll just use Lyft. - No one will own cars by 2025: Lyft president

09/20/16 - Fuel Cell hydrogen powered class 8 truck from Nikola Motor Company

    KeelyNet

Nikola Motor Company Announces U.S. and Canadian Class 8 Trucks Will Be Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered and 100% Emission Free Nikola Motor Company recently announced that it achieved zero emissions with its electric-powered drivetrain. At that time, details about how Nikola achieved zero emissions were kept confidential pending finalization of key supplier agreements. Today, Nikola is announcing that the electric drivetrain used in the U.S. and Canadian markets will be powered by a custom-built hydrogen-electric 800V fuel cell.

Nikolas hydrogen class 8 trucks will be more powerful than any other production diesel truck on the road and have a range of over 1,200 miles between fill-ups. It will achieve nearly 20 MPG with zero emissions under full load, surpassing all the government mandates set forth for the next 10 years, including the EPAs recently announced Phase 2 GHG standards. The desire to be 100% emission free in the U.S. and Canada is a critical piece of our long-term engineering and environmental efforts, not just in vehicle energy consumption, but also in how energy is produced.

Nikola will produce hydrogen via zero emission solar farms built by Nikola Motor Company. These solar farms will produce over 100 megawatts each and will use electrolysis to create hydrogen from water. Even our manufacturing facilities will be run off of zero emission hydrogen energy, said Trevor Milton, CEO, Nikola Motor Company. Nikola plans to have a nationwide network of over 50 hydrogen stations for customers to begin fueling by 2020. This will make Nikola Motor Company the first company in the world to be 100% emission-free from energy production to transportation to consumption.

Say goodbye to the days of dirty diesels and after treatment in the heavy duty class 8 market, added Milton. More information will be announced about Nikolas nationwide sales, service and warranty network in the coming weeks. Please see Nikolas website for more information on the location of the future hydrogen stations. The CNG turbine version of the Nikola One will be available for other countries where hydrogen is not readily available.

The Nikola One will be unveiled on December 1, 2016 in Salt Lake City. Nikola Motor Company passed three billion dollars in pre-orders since it began taking reservations in May of this year. Attendance at this event will be by invite only, but will be streamed live on Nikolas website. For complete product details on the Nikola One, visit www.nikolamotor.com.

Previously, Nikola said its 2,000-horsepower truck would come with six electric motors with a natural-gas turbine as an onboard generator. A prototype has yet to be seen, but Nikola said the truck could achieve zero emissions and go 1,200 miles on a single charge. Nikola was claiming it could achieve zero emissions when its semitruck plans involved using a natural-gas range extender. Nikola CEO Trevor Milton told Business Insider that the startup is pretty much scrapping the natural-gas range extender in favor of using a hydrogen-electric fuel cell. The truck is zero emissions through the hydrogen fuel cell. The turbine will only be available in other countries where we dont have a hydrogen infrastructure, Milton said.

In June, Nikola announced it had received 7,000 orders for its hybrid electric truck. Milton says that number is up to 8,000, and that 99% [of the] orders will be for hydrogen only. Milton said Nikola is still planning to produce the original hybrid truck, but that it will be available after the hydrogen fuel cell option hits markets. Nikola decided to filter out and eliminate any orders from other countries outside the US and Canada so it could focus on the hydrogen-electric truck, Milton added. We always had this fuel cell development team working on the fuel cell. Now that we were able to achieve what we wanted to with the fuel cell, all those orders will only be hydrogen-electric, Milton said.

09/20/16 - Post 9/11 Militarization: US has Spent Nearly $5 trillion on Wars Since September 11, 2001, Under the Pretext of Fighting Terrorism
KeelyNet In another indication of the terrible price paid by working people in the United States and all over the globe for the crimes of US imperialism, a new reportfrom Brown University estimates that Washington has squandered nearly $5 trillion since September 11, 2001 on the wars launched under the pretext of fighting terrorism.

The report coincides with the 15th anniversary of 9/11, with 10,000 US troops still in Afghanistan, 15 years after the US invasion of that country, and an estimated 6,000 in Iraq. Hundreds more special operations forces have been deployed to Syria, where the US is fighting for regime change in a de facto alliance with that countrys affiliates of Al Qaedawhich was supposedly the principal target of the last decade and a half of war.

While the financial costs of these wars are staggering, bordering on the unfathomable, the author of the report, Boston University professor Neta Crawford, correctly places them in their far broader, and more horrifying, context of the trail of blood and destruction that US military operations have left in their wake:

a full accounting of any wars burdens cannot be placed in columns on a ledger. From the civilians harmed or displaced by violence, to the soldiers killed and wounded, to the children who play years later on roads and fields sown with improvised explosive devices and cluster bombs, no set of numbers can convey the human toll of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, or how they have spilled into the neighboring states of Syria and Pakistan, and come home to the US and its allies in the form of wounded veterans and contractors.

Some of these numbers are also quantifiable, and appalling, from the over one million Iraqi lives lost to the US invasion of 2003 to the more than 12 million refugees driven from just the four countries laid waste by US wars: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Syria. In addition, there are the nearly 7,000 US troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with roughly an equal number of private contractors, as well as the 52,000 officially listed as wounded in combat and the untold hundreds of thousands more suffering from traumatic brain injuries, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and other mental health problems resulting from multiple deployments in dirty colonial-style wars.

Nonetheless, the report argues persuasively that it is also vital to make a serious and comprehensive evaluation of the real financial costs of these wars. The overall cost of US imperialisms wars includes the $1.7 trillion directly appropriated by Congress to wage them as so-called Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). This is above and beyond the Pentagons base budget, which totals some $6.8 trillion from FY2001-2016. By defining these wars as OCOs, Congress, together with both the Bush and Obama administrations, has acted as if they are some kind of unforeseeable emergencies that could not be planned for within the governments normal budgetary process, even as they dragged out for a decade and a half. As a result, they were freed from any kind of normal fiscal accountability, with no taxes or other revenues allotted to pay for them.

In addition to this direct war funding, the report includes the costs of veterans medical and disability care, allocations for Homeland Security, interest on Pentagon war appropriations and future costs for veterans care. This last cost is estimated at amounting to at least $1 trillion between now and 2053. The basis for such an estimate is made clear by the presentation of some alarming statistics.

By the end of 2015, more than 1,600 soldiers who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan had undergone major limb amputations as a result of wounds suffered in combat. A total of 327,000 veterans of these wars had been diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury as of 2014 and by the same year fully 700,000 out of the 2.7 million people deployed to the war zones had been classified as 30 percent or more disabled. The report points out that Veterans Affairs is the fastest growing department in the US government, with its staffing levels having nearly doubled since 2001 to 350,000 workers. Yet, according to another recent report, it still lacks sufficient funding to fill thousands of vacancies for doctors and nurses and to finance badly needed repairs to its hospitals and clinics.

In addition to these costs, the report estimates that, unless Congress changes the way that it is paying for the wars, even without their continuation, cumulative interest on war appropriations made just through FY2013 will amount to a staggering $7.9 trillion by 2053. The report recalls that as the Bush administration was preparing to launch the war of aggression against Iraq, the administrations chief economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey came under intense fire for estimating that the upper bound costs of the war reached between $100 and $200 billion. This estimate was roundly rejected by everyone from Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to House Democrats, who put the figure at roughly $50 billion, which it is now clear underestimated the real cost by a factor of 100.

Reflected in these wars, both in the criminality with which they were initiated and fought, and in the way they were funded, are the financial parasitism and socially destructive forms of speculation that pervade the workings of American capitalism as a whole. By keeping the wars costs off the books and relying on an all-volunteer military to fight them, the US ruling class also hoped to dampen the popular hostility to militarism. The new report does not attempt to estimate the wars broader impact on the economy and the living standards of broad masses of American working people. Another report issued two years ago by Harvard University conservatively estimated that the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars amounted to $75,000 for every American household.

The report points to previous studies indicating that the wars cost tens of thousands of jobs and significantly reduced investment in infrastructure. The vast amount of resources diverted into slaughter and destruction in the Middle East and Central Asia could have funded the $3.32 trillion that the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) says must be spent over the next decade to fix Americas crumbling ports, highways, bridges, trains, water and electric facilities and paid off the entire $1.26 trillion in student debt, with money left over. Instead, the elected officials of both major capitalist parties have continuously insisted that there is no money for jobs, decent wages, education, health care and other basic necessities, while spending unlimited money on militarism and war, leaving the bill to be paid for through the intensification of austerity measures directed against the working class.

The human and fiscal toll wrought by the wars of the last 15 years are only a foretaste of the global catastrophe that is threatened as US imperialism prepares for far larger wars, with its military escalation focused ever more directly against the worlds second and third largest nuclear powers, Russia and China. - Post 9/11 Militarization: US has Spent Nearly $5 trillion on Wars Since September 11, 2001, Under the Pretext of Fighting Terrorism"

09/20/16 - Can killer robots save ocean ecosystems?
Lionfish can reduce a flourishing coral reef to barren wasteland in a matter of weeks. Native fish, unfamiliar with the new arrival, do not know to avoid it, and the predator gorges to the point of obesity. As so-called "apex predators" they sit at the top of the food chain, unthreatened by any other creature. They breed rapidly, and are extremely resilient and adaptable. No solution has been found to control their advance yet, but conservationists could soon have a new tool at their disposal: killer robots.

Video game - The idea emerged from a diving trip in Bermuda, where iRobot CEO Colin Angle met with local conservationists, and learned about the extent of the damage caused by lionfish. One of the group suggested that he create a machine to kill the fish, and another offered to provide funding. Angle returned home and wrote a proposal, which swiftly became the non-profit company "Robots in Service of the Environment (RISE)." The design for a lionfish killer combines a remotely-operated vehicle (ROV), using technology which iRobot had developed for the automatic vacuum cleaner Roomba, with a bespoke electrocution device. "Think of it as a video game," says RISE executive director John Rizzi.

"It will be a tethered device with a control mechanism that you drop into the water," he says. "You drive the ROV until you see the fish -- a lot of the technology is in the cameras -- then you drive the ROV onto the fish and press the trigger." In tests, the lionfish have shown no fear when twin electrodes are lined up alongside them, ahead of administering the fatal shock. The fish is then sucked into the ROV and returned to the hunter.

Meal deal - The mechanism is simple and effective, but design challenges are ongoing. "We're chasing a million lionfish," says Rizzi. "We need thousands of devices and they need to be reliable, inexpensive, and safe." With consumer-level pricing, RISE aims to make the robots available to any diver or fisherman, and to build a market. "By getting the economics right, we will give people the incentive to buy our device and kill some fish, sell them or eat them, and do it again," says Rizzi. "The best way to eliminate a species is if humans eat it." Beyond price issues, there is also a fear that the robots could target the wrong fish, but RISE is developing recognition software that will only allow them to kill lionfish.

Game changer - Various ideas have already been tried to control lionfish numbers, from training sharks to eat them, to using them for jewelry. Spear fishing derbies have had some local success in reducing populations, but there is recognition from conservationists that larger scale solutions are required. "Currently there isn't an effective way to conduct mass culling," says Chris Flook, of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, in Bermuda. "We have spear fishers with special permits that catch lionfish on shallow reefs but lionfish survive at depths beyond the reach of recreational divers."

The machines could play a critical role in restoring the health of marine ecosystems, according to Dr. Gretchen Goodbody-Gringley, of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. "If the robot is successful, it could have a major impact on our ability to manage the invasive lionfish population," she says. "By controlling lionfish densities we can mitigate the negative impacts that these fish have on the biodiversity and health of our coral reef ecosystems." - Can killer robots save ocean ecosystems?

Unless you're a smeghead, you'll be excited to know that (after 28 years after the smash cult sitcom began) Red Dwarf seasons 11 and 12 are now in production. The Guardian reports: "'I've known these guys longer than I've known my wife,' says Charles (Lister).

'That was what it came down to -- a choice between staying in Coronation Street or doing this.' Last year, after 10 years on the cobbliest of soaps, Charles left. He missed comedy, and the opportunity to strap on the famous dreads came up. 'I was like 'I've got to do it.' It's a career-defining role.'

As it was with Llewellyn's (Kryton) re-application of the rubber head: 'The only reason I do it now -- and I don't do any other acting, it drives me mad -- is because it's being with your mates for a few weeks.' 09/20/16 - Scientists have created a drug that replicates the health benefits of exercise
Scientists from Deakin University in Melbourne published their findings in Cell Reports earlier this week, showing that overweight mice who were given the drug no longer showed signs of cardiovascular disease.

The biologists began their research almost a decade ago, says Sean McGee, associate professor of medical biology at the school, with the specific goal of replicating the effects of exercise. They began by examining the molecular response to exercise in muscle. The genes that control for lipid metabolism turn on during exercise, which causes the body to burn the fat that contributes to heart disease.

McGee and his team found the protein that keeps these genes turned off most of the time, and were able to genetically manipulate it in order to turn on the fat-burning genes.

Testing on mice showed that, in burning the fats, the drug effectively prevented heart disease in obese mice. The researchers are now redesigning the drug structure to make it more potent, specificand effective for humans. Though testing has thus far been limiting to mice, they hope to have it available for human use in five- to 10 years.

Though the drug could have huge health benefits for people with obesity and type-2 diabetes, McGee notes that it does not replicate all the benefits of exercise. For example, it doesnt induce the same increase in endorphins. And mice who were given the drug did not lose weight. Although it increases energy expenditure and fat burning, mice treated with the drug also ate a little bit more, meaning they remained weight stable, says McGee.

Last year, scientists at the University of Sydney created a blueprint of the molecular effects of exercise, with the long-term goal of creating a drug that completely replicates the effects of exercise. Rather than rewarding an inactive lifestyle, scientists hope that the drugs could have serious health benefits for the elderly, or those who struggle to do physical exercise. - Scientists have created a drug that replicates the health benefits of exercise

09/20/16 - Teenagers more likely to eat healthily if they think it is rebellious
If you want the teenager in your life to eat healthily, telling them it will be good for them in the long term is simply not going to work. But appealing to their rebelliousness and sense of social justice could make them take notice of their diet, according to a US study that may offer a new approach to tackling obesity and other health problems in the young. The research suggests that informing teenagers about the manipulative nature of the food industry reduces their preference for sugary drinks and snacks. By contrast, promoting healthy eating based on future health benefits is no more successful than offering no information at all.

If the normal way of seeing healthy eating is that it is lame, then you dont want to be the kind of person who is a healthy eater, said David Yeager, co-author of the research from the University of Texas at Austin. But if we make healthy eating seem like the rebellious thing that you do, you make your own choices, you fight back against injustice, then it could be seen as high status.

Writing in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers conducted two studies which, when pooled together, looked at how 536 schoolchildren aged 13 to 15 responded to different conditions aimed at promoting a healthy diet. Pupils were randomly given either material that promoted healthy eating based on its long-term health benefits or material that revealed how junk food is designed to be addictive, can be deceptively labelled, and is targeted at particular people, including very young children and those from poorer backgrounds. A third group of pupils received either no information or information entirely unrelated to healthy eating.

Teenagers were also asked to engage with the ideas by writing an essay on how they might take action based on the viewpoint put across to them. The following day, in an apparently unrelated event, all the pupils were given a snack-pack as a reward from the headteacher for hard work the contents of which they could choose from a list.

Once you see [healthy eating] as a high status thing to do, people are more willing to do it of their own free will when they have their own choice in a room surrounded by their peers, said Yeager. For teenagers who had received material on the negative aspects of the food industry, 43% chose only unhealthy snacks such as crisps or cookies, compared to 54% of those who had received no information, or health-related information. A smaller decrease was seen in their preference for sugary drinks over water, while the overall sugar content of their food and drink was reduced by 9%.

When surveyed, pupils who had been informed about the manipulative nature of the food industry were also more likely to agree with statements relating to autonomy, social status and social justice such as: When I eat healthy, I am helping to make the world a better place. Two days after seeing the materials, teenagers in this group were also more likely to be angered by adverts for fizzy drinks and want to avoid them.

The insight, the authors add, could be used for a range of other campaigns, from motivating sick teenagers to take their medications, to encouraging young drivers to be safer on the roads. - Teenagers more likely to eat healthily if they think it is rebellious

KeelyNet What a delightful article about a most amazing woman. I highly advise everyone to read this article and back to the book if you so desire. Very impressive, I would have valued such a woman among my friends. - JWD

Katharine Wright was the youngest of five and the only of her siblings to graduate from college. After finishing Oberlin, she took a job teaching Latin at Steele High School, where "she would flunk many of Dayton's future leaders." Brilliant, sociable, and vivacious, she provided an unshakable foundation of support for her brothers in all their endeavors: the print shop they co-founded, then the bicycle shop they started, and finally their interests in flight. Though she did not design, build, or pilot the famed Flyer, she played a vital role in its creation and later popularization.

More substantially, during school holidays, while her brothers were at Kitty Hawk and beyond, she kept the Wright Cycle Company solvent, firing incompetent managers and helping in its day-to-day operations. The Wrights were privately funded. Their bicycle shop was crucial to their work, and provided every penny they spent in the development of the airplane. They wanted no government assistance and no outside investors.

When word later spread of the brothers' modest successes, engineering societies requested public talkssomething the Wright Brothers were hardly prepared for or eager to attempt. It was Katharine who pressed them to attend such events, and even chose the clothes they should wear. The most notable of these speeches"Some Aeronautical Experiments," delivered by Wilburwould later be described as the "Book of Genesis of the 20-century Bible of Aeronautical Experiments." It wouldn't have been given without Katharine's insistence.

They wrote the War Department and explained what they had created, providing photos of their invention. Their correspondence was ignored. The French government approached the Wrights, however, and expressed great interest. The brothers had to box up their creation and ship it overseas, guarding it jealously throughoutonce details of the design breakthroughs of their plane leaked, their invention would be rendered valueless.

Public demonstrations in Paris proved sensational. Far beyond attracting the interest of military officials, they captured the imagination of the entire country, and soon, the entire continent. Hundreds of thousands of people showed for public demonstrations, and the Wrights were feted in every corner. This was more troubling than one might think. The Flyer worked marvelously, but it wasn't idiot-proof; on every flight, one wrong move would mean catastrophe for the pilot. Parties at palaces hardly left time for the serious business of pilot preparation. Wilbur, who ran the Europe operation, needed someone to handle the social aspects of the job.

Eventually, the furor in Paris became too much, and Wilbur beseeched his sister to come to Europe and act as his "social manager." She agreed, bringing Orville with her. In addition to caring for the greatly weakened brother while in Europe, she took public pressure off of Wilbur by wining and dining the world's aristocracy, who simply could not get their fill of the astonishing Wright Brothers and their miracle of human flight. She entertained kings, prime ministers, and business titans alike. She took French classes two hours every morning. Because she was fluent in Greek and Latin, she picked up the language quickly, and with a native speaker on their roster, the Wrights were able to cause an even greater splash in Parisian society. According to McCullough: "The less Orville had to say, the more Katharine talked and with great effect. She had become a celebrity in her own right. The press loved her. 'The masters of the aeroplane, these two clever and intrepid Daytonians, who have moved about Europe under the spotlight of extraordinary publicity, have had a silent partner,' wrote one account. But silent she was no longer and reporters delighted in her extroverted, totally unaffected Midwestern American manner."

One account of Katharine put it most succinctly: "Who was it who gave them new hope, when they began to think the problem [of flight] impossible? Who was it that nursed Orville back to strength and health when the physicians had practically given him up after that fatal accident last September?"

During all of this, Katharine maintained correspondence with their father back homefreeing desperately needed time for the Wright Brothers to maintain their plane and the bearing necessary to fly it. Moreover, when the Wrights needed to take someone up as a passenger, they often took Katharine, if only to demonstrate their confidence in the flying machine. Katharine had flown "longer and farther than had any American woman." She was, in fact, the "only woman in the world who had made three flights in an aeroplane," and she would become, at the time, the only woman ever invited to a dinner at the Aro-Club de France.

She was an ambassador of sorts for America in Europe, and later, for Europe in America. She took the American press to task for diminishing the European fascination with flight. "She loved America, she said, but the American people did not always understand Europeans, who were an appreciative people. She could not listen to anyone saying unkind things about them without protesting." All of this set the stage for her later life. She was a visible member of the suffrage movement. She traveled the world and devoted her time to Oberlin College. After the death of Wilbur, she supported Orville's successful business ventures to the last. 09/15/16 - Potting material in your garden that can heat your home
KeelyNet Adding a salt to vermiculite enables it to store vast amounts of heat for months. When a type of salt is added, vermiculite, which is normally used to pot cactus and similar plants, takes on an extraordinary property. Blow warm air over it breathing will do and it dries out. But if you then expose it to cold, damp air, it absorbs the water and releases heat.

Dubbed magic beans by researchers at Swansea University, the material can be used to store heat energy for months in this way. A fridge-freezer-sized box of it could be used to provide effective heating for a domestic house for potentially months during the winter.

A trial is already underway at a building on the Tata steelworks plant at Port Talbot. It is used in conjunction with simple solar thermal panels made from a sheet of metal that intensify the heat from the sun. Professor David Worsley, an engineer at the university, said: In the summer, weve got this massive amount of hot air co llected by solar thermal collectors. We wanted to make a material you could put heat into and save it for the winter.

While the material was originally developd at the University of Nottingham by Sean Casey, Professor Worsley and others at Swansea are working out how to incorporate it into buildings. You drive hot air over it, it drives all the water off and in the winter all you do is introduce cold damp air. It absorbs the water and releases energy, he said. - Potting material in your garden that can heat your home

09/15/16 - New Electric Bus Can Drive 560 km On One Charge
The bus from Proterra, a North American manufacturer, is set to hit the streets next year. Up to 350 miles on city street which is enough in many locations for a full days worth of routes. Last month it ran for 950 km miles on a test track on a single charge. What is even more impressive is the fast 500kW maximum charge rate, the Proterra single-blade overhead fast-charge system can fully recharge Catalyst FC vehicles on-route in 5-13 minutes.

Proterra is rapidly advancing the emerging category of battery-electric transit. The bus exclusively as an EV, with a durable, life-extending composite body. It features modular battery storage and tied it to a proven electric drive train and state-of-the-art energy delivery systems.

The result is a vehicle with: An acceleration from 0 to 20 mph in 6.8 seconds The ability to take steep hills with a gradeability of 15.5% A curb weight of 26,000-33,000 lbs., the lightest vehicle in its class

Battery - It can store up to 660 kWh. The Catalyst E2 Battery Series enables a direct replacement of diesel, CNG and hybrid buses, establishing a new, high-performance category. Vehicles with the E2 battery configuration can accommodate the toughest routes with highest daily mileage, without charging on-route. E2 battery configurations can be fully charged at the depot with industry standard J1772 CCS plug-in chargers.

Proterra Catalyst vehicles with the XR Battery Series can accommodate transit routes with low to medium daily mileage, without the need for on-route charging. For longer routes or higher daily mileage, charging can be supplemented during layovers with the Proterra on-route overhead charging system.

This is still expensive technology, even taking into account fuel savings. However the development oft he platform such as this bus will take advantage of new battery technologies as they become available. This is what public transport will become within the next generation and even more mind blowing is when they use driver less vehicle technology.

On the website they state Proterra vehicles have proven themselves over more than 2.5 million miles of service in communities across North America, operating at a lower overall cost than any 35- or 40-foot diesel, hybrid or CNG transit vehicle. A revolution is taking place. Proterra is taking transit on a new route. 09/15/16 - 5G Telecomm Radiation the Perfect Tool to Mass Modify Human Brain Waves
Getting back to consumer safety and well-being and all things microwave, it is clear that the latency period for adverse biological effects from devices using microwave frequencies from say 1 GHz to 5 Ghz is approximately 10 20 years. In 2016 there are now many thousands of peer-reviewed medical and epidemiological studies that show, illustrate or correlate, adverse biological effects with use of mobile phone technology or WIFI. Using frequencies even higher than 5 GHz (and up to 100 GHz) will compress the timeframe in which cancers and other biological effects show themselves within society. It is anyones guess on what might happen in terms of biological safety yet it is clear to see that the pulsed nature of these high frequency, high signal intensity signals do not harbour good news for humanity, particularly in relation to the functioning of our DNA.

Nowadays, exposure to microwave radiation or frequencies used by WIFI, mobile phones, smart phones, smart meters, WIFI-enabled audio devices, WIFI-enabled fridges, most baby monitors and a whole host of other esoteric electrical devices were recently classed as Class 2B carcinogens. Point of sale literature excludes this fact on any advertising blurb and it is also fascinating that the small print embedded deep within mobile phone product literature say that you should not put these devices directly to your skin, body or face. If you do, you exceed the so-called safe exposure thresholds put in place for these devices.

Getting back to the very small physical length of the antennas that will be used for 5G devices, it is very clear to surmise that if these devices talk to each other using highly efficient, directional antennas, the ERP (effective radiated power) will be huge. If you happen to walk into this intensely focused beam of microwave radiation, what will this level of signal intensity do to your biology? Yet again, time will tell unless we get our arses into gear and demand proper safety studies from industry and independent academia that focus on thermal and non-thermal effects on our biology.

Just like the advent of modern mobile phone technology, it is us, the consumers, who provide the guinea pig role in terms of safety. Sufferers of EHS (electro-hyper-sensitivity) will need to be aware of any 5G device simply because the electron volt assault on their compromised bodies will be easily and instantly felt. It is they who will suffer first and in time, everyone will be affected because one other fact the telecoms industries have not mentioned is that in order to develop an efficient network of signals within an urban environment, many thousands of new transmitter sites will need to be installed. The physical small size of these antennas means they can be covertly installed into all sorts of urban structures which suggest that for urban dwellers at least, there will be no escape from exposure to these highly damaging microwave frequencies. I also feel that when these antennas are in place, it will be relatively easy to alter and manipulate brain wave function of its users and others close by.

The amount of ancillary information that can be piped or attached to the main carrier frequency of such a telecommunications network system is potentially, huge. Police forces the world over use Tetra as a systems of communication. This system also includes a sub-carrier frequency of about 16 Hz which is very close to our natural brainwave patterns. Could this 16 Hz ancillary pulsed ELF (extremely low-frequency) be responsible for instilling aggressive behaviours in our police force personnel? The zombie apocalypse might just be around the corner unless of course, we refuse to comply. That is our choice. - 5G Telecomm Radiation the Perfect Tool to Mass Modify Human Brain Waves

09/15/16 - Insolight Breaks Solar Cell Efficiency Record Hits 36.4% Efficiency
KeelyNet Just last week, MIT and Masdar Institute announced they had created a new solar cell that was 35% efficient and less expensive than other high-efficiency cells. A few days ago, a team at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) claimed it has beaten the MIT/Masdar achievement by creating a solar cell that is 36.4% efficient.

That number is approximately double that of the typical solar cell used in residential solar panels today, and more efficient than anything except triple-junction and four-junction solar cells. In design, the individual calls resemble the ultra-expensive cells used in space applications.

A new company called Insolight is planning to use the new cells to make high efficiency solar panels that can compete with existing residential solar arrays. The key to the Insolight cell is a thin, transparent plastic concentrator that goes over the cell and acts like a lens to focus solar energy onto the relatively tiny but super-high-performance solar cells.

Its like a shower, says Insolight CEO Laurent Coulot. All the water goes down one small drain. Theres no need for the drain to cover the entire floor of the shower. Because of the concentrator, the Insolight panels can use fewer cells per panel, which helps keep costs down. The concentrator also allows the cells to track the sun during the day, optimizing the capture of solar energy. - Insolight Breaks Solar Cell Efficiency Record Hits 36.4% Efficiency

09/15/16 - Your Liver, Your Dishwashing Soap
More than three decades after Chicago banned phosphate laden detergents to prevent foul smelling algae from choking lakes and rivers, dishwasher soap made with chemicals still dominates supermarket shelves.

Is Your Dishwashing Detergent SAFE? According to Hans Nieper, M.D., Dishwashing detergents contain large polymeric compounds that are not completely removed from the dishes by rinsing with water. The liver CANNOT metabolize these large molecules sufficiently, and their accumulation leads to a build up of fat. This fat build up in the liver is STRONGLY ASSOCIATED WITH HEART DISEASE AND CANCER. Dr. Nieper was president of the German Society of Oncology. He strongly recommends that people choose their dishwashing detergents very carefully, making sure they choose a toxin-free brand that will not cause unnecessary challenges to the liver and overall health.

Shaklee Dishwasher Concentrate leaves your dishes squeaky clean by using enzymes. It containes no chlorine, chemicals or fragrances that can harm your family. Order Dish Washer Concentrate # 00255

Deb goes on to discuss how chemicals and toxins affect our health adversely. Numerous studies have shown that our body is awash with chemicals that are toxic to our health as well as to the environment. These chemicals are found in personal care products such as shampoo, toothpaste, lotion, make-up, etc. Undesirable ingredients, such as talc, fillers, waxes, mineral oils occlusive oils, BHT (preservatives), fragrances, etc. are commonly found in personal care products.

These chemicals according to Paula Ballie-Hamilton, M.D., Ph.D. have switched our metabolism, that is, chemicals prevent us from lossing the extra pounds and keeping it off permanently. Also, processed foods are loaded with chemicals that lengthen shelf life, but are hazardous to our health. Chemicals not only widen our girth, promote belly fat, but also cause inflammation. Inflammation is a major cause of many chronic degenerative diseases such as heart attack, stroke, Alzeheimers, and even cancer. - Your Liver, Your Dishwashing Soap

09/15/16 - A sleepy corner of west Texas is home to an immense discovery

    KeelyNet

Apache Corp. stock is among the top gainers this week after the energy company revealed an immense oil and gas reserve in a relatively unknown corner of west Texas. Apache APA, -1.32% estimated that its more than 300,000 contiguous acres in the region holds about 3 billion barrels of oil and 75 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. It called the field Alpine High.

Alpine High is located in the Delaware Basin, which is a sub-basin in the southwest corner of the Permian Basin. The Permian itself is mostly located in west Texas, with a small area straddling southeastern New Mexico. Texas estimates the Permian already has produced 29 billion barrels of oil, and says industry experts estimate it to contain recoverable oil and natural gas resources exceeding what has been produced over the last 90 years.

Oklahoma has experienced an influx of earthquake activity in the past decade that seismologists have tied to the underground disposal of wastewater from oil and gas drilling. The Permian accounted for nearly 20% of total U.S. oil production a few years back. Formations like Spraberry and Wolfcamp had been way more prolific than the Delaware as seen in this map from the Energy Information Administration.

Until recently experts considered the area a poor candidate for hydraulic fracturing, a process that uses water mixed with sand and chemicals to unlock oil and gas trapped in rock. Analysts at UBS said the area has received minimal focus from the industry to date.

When Apache announced the discovery on Wednesday, the stock rose more than 7%. Weekly gains reached more than 14% on Friday, the stocks best weekly rise since mid March. In comparison, the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.06% lost 1.3%. Crude oil, meanwhile, fell sharply Friday but was still on track to log about a 4% weekly gain. - A sleepy corner of west Texas is home to an immense discovery

09/15/16 - Quantum radar can detect whats invisible to regular radar
In quantum entanglement, two or more particles are seemingly linked in a state of mutual instantaneous influence, no matter how far apart they are. And its not just quantum computers that make use of entangled particles these days. Everything from atomic clocks and unbreakable codes to the magnetic navigation abilities of birds can all exploit these effects. The latest application uses correlations between entangled microwave and optical beams to detect objects of low reflectivity creating in effect, quantum radar.

The entangled particles in a quantum computer are typically ionized atoms that act as qubits, while for the avian retina the particles are electrons that form a so-called radical pair. To make a quantum radar, the particles needed are entangled photons in the microwave band. Researchers led by Stefano Pirandola have proposed that this could be achieved by interconverting microwave and optical signals using a device called an electro-optomechanical converter.

Such a device would accommodate each kind of radiation in cavities, separated by a vibrating membrane that entangles the optic and microwave fields. For any given transmission energy, this kind of quantum illumination setup would be more efficient than a classical microwave radar. The authors claim their system would be ideal for low-reflectivity objects embedded in a bright thermal background. A radar like this would come in handy for detecting stealthy targets that barely stand out against the background of the sky.

From their description the design sounds reminiscent of a basic interferometer system that uses a probe beam and a reference beam. The converter creates the microwave probe beam that would illuminate the object to be detected, while the visible arm acts as the reference beam or idler beam as they call it. The two beams then interfere with each other in the detector.

While we generally dont associate an MRI with the kinds of ionizing radiation we expect in something like a CAT scan, for imaging delicate protein or nucleic acid samples, low power NMR would be very useful. Similarly, the advantages of illuminating your target with the absolute minimum amount of energy required to identify it increases the chance that you yourself will not in turn be given away. 09/15/16 - Matter as Bubbles in the Aether - Think Negative
KeelyNet Even as recently as the 1920's, orthodox science believed in a STATIC cosmos, until Edwin Hubble demonstrated that it was actually EXPANDING and, therefore, must have originated long ago in some titanic 'Big Bang'. Today, most scientists agree that the Universe is outwardly expanding and is of finite age, born from a dramatic 'phase transition' when the "aether" (quantum vacuum) jumped from one energy state to another, "sucking matter into physical existence" within our universe. (1)

If one reads Leadbeater's Appendix to the 1919 edition of OCCULT CHEMISTRY (2), or William Kingsland's THE PHYSICS OF THE SECRET DOCTRINE (1910) (3), it is clear that occult chemists were speaking of proto-aether "Mulaprakriti" (what Paul Davies calls "the initial false vacuum") undergoing an expansionary phase-change to become "Koilon" (our present-day normal quantum vacuum") driven by "Cosmic Fohat" (the "Superforce" of Paul Davies (4)) which blew bubbles (i.e., 'material' particles) in an infinitely dense aether.

Cosmic Fohat, a unified Superforce to start with, subsequently split into the four presently-known natural forces: gravitation, electromagnetism, the strong and the weak nuclear forces. The occultists labour the point that instead of matter being solid within an empty insubstantial aether, the aether itself is VERY DENSE (one thousand million times denser than platinum, according to Oliver Lodge's estimate), and matter is REALLY JUST BUBBLES-the ABSENCE OF AETHER.

The 19th century concepts underlying this occult cosmology are easily visualized in terms of liquid in a cylinder. Fizzing can be induced if the piston is moved; thus did Cosmic Fohat - Superforce - induce a quantum-vacuum transition (Mulaprakriti to Koilon), releasing energy which tore the aether apart into numerous 'subatomic particles' - BUBBLES - which we see as substantial even though they are, in fact, THE ABSENCE OF SUBSTANCE. Thus was matter SUCKED INTO EXISTENCE in the cosmic expansion.

KeelyNet Paul Davies writes that "what appears as empty space is actually a seething ferment....of quantum activity, teeming with [ghost] VIRTUAL PARTICLES and full of complex interactions. ....A real particle...must be always viewed against this backdrop of frenetic activity.

When [a real particle] moves through space, it is actually swimming in a sea of ghost particles of all varieties...entangled in a complexe melee'....

It is important to realise that, at the quantum level of description, the vacuum is the DOMINANT STRUCTURE. ...particles are only MINOR DISTURBANCES bubbling up over this background sea of activity/(shades of implosion/sonoluminscence!)

Thus the 'dense' aether (quantum vacuum) is scientific dogma today, even though it seemed the height of absurdity when Theosophists first proposed it.

KeelyNet But what of subatomic particles? Are they really bubbles? In BUB1A1.GIF and BUB1A2.GIF we see electric field lines radiating through the aether between charged particles. As the electrical charges are moved apart, the field lines spread apart, off to infinity.

But one of the simplest kinds of 'massive' particles, a MESON, is shown in BUB1B1.GIF and BUB1B2.GIF. The meson is actually a bubble in the aether (quantum vacuum) and its internal ('matter') field lines are rapped within the bubble.

Indeed, if the bubble is somehow stretched, the ('matter') field lines actually DRAW CLOSER TOGETHER! This is exactly the OPPOSITE to 'electric' field lines in the aether!

KeelyNet In fact, if the meson bubble stretches TOO FAR, it can DIVIDE into TWO BUBBLES (as in BUB2.GIF). The 'charges' inside the bubbles are called quarks (represented by black dots) and antiquarks (represented by white dots).

Instead of drawing the bubble in the aether, and all its internal field lines, we will henceforth introduce a kind of cartoon called the "Nambu string." It is just the field line which directly joins the quark and the antiquark INSIDE the meson. But we can think of the Nambu string (or spring) as a kind of elastic band which can be stretched.

If drawn too far apart, as when the meson bubble divides into two, we can think of the Nambu string as snapping -but it can never have free ends because field lines must BEGIN and END on 'charges' (in this case, quarks and antiquarks).

KeelyNet So in order for the Nambu string to snap, a quark-antiquark pair must be sucked into existence from out of the aether. The quark and the antiquark CANCEL out each other (like +1 -1 = 0), so we haven't obtained something for nothing. Figure 2 thus shows a meson (matter bubble) dividing into two - and the simplified Nambu elastic string 'cartoon' gives us another way of viewing the process.

One way we could stretch and divide a meson bubble would be to make it SPIN VERY FAST; then the centripetal force would draw the quark and antiquark APART, stretching the elastic 'string' that holds them together. Thus, spinning 'matter bubbles' in the aether (quantum vacuum) would tend to be elongated AND oval-shaped. They are called VECTOR MESONS and there are 37 different types of them in nature.

    KeelyNet

Non-spinning 'matter bubbles' would TEND TO BE SPHERICAL. They are called SCALAR MESONS and there are 36 different kinds of them also in nature. The occult chemists Besant and Leadbeater drew both kinds - vector and scalar mesons - as their E3 state of matter, in 1895.

Which ties in well with my favorite quasi-crystalline dilatant matrix theory UFOs, Osborne Reynolds, and the One Wind: A New Look at an Old Theory and Osborne Reynolds' Submechanics of the Universe: A Bridge between Classical and Modern Physics and Osborne Reynolds' Submechanics of the Universe: a structured context for:matter, energy, space, time and PSI phenomena - This medium is granular, composed of uniform, spherical grains much smaller than subatomic particles and filling the entire universe. In fact, it is the universe. In matter-free space the grains are hexagonally arrayed and almost close-packed. Because they cannot exchange neighbors, they form a quasicrystalline matrix. The grains are in relative, vibratory, gas-like motion; but with a mean free path many orders of magnitude smaller than the diameter of the grains (unlike a gas). This jostling of the grains against one another produces a very high pressure in the medium. Because of the gearing of the grains and the pressure, the medium supports transverse disturbances (EM waves) whose local propagation rate depends on the local pressure and strains in the medium. Unstrained; i.e., without matter, the aether is isotropic. Strained; i.e., with matter present, it is anisotropic.

Reynolds says matter is strained regions of misalignment of the grains or "singular surfaces", "negative inequalities", or simply, "holes". Matter, then, moves by means of displacement; much as a bubble moves upward by an equal amount of liquid being displaced downward. For holes to move through the medium, aether grains must move in the opposite direction.

Picture a void or hole having two plane, parallel faces. For this hole to move in a direction perpendicular to the faces, aether grains must leave the forward face and travel to the rear face of the hole. Since the distance the grains must travel is larger than the normal grain spacing and since they travel at a limited velocity, the grains spend a certain amount of time in transit across the singular surface. While in transit, the grains do not vibrate against other grains and their energy is momentarily unavailable to the rest of the medium.

As the hole moves faster, the number of grains in transit across it increases. This causes a local decrease in aether pressure. Also, as more grains leave the front face, it experiences a loss of pressure and produces an aether strain tending to cause the front face to approach the rear face. - Matter as Bubbles in the Aether - Think Negative

KeelyNet (this is probably untrue but my schadenfreude kicked in with big time deliciousness) A video clip of WABC-TV Channel 7 "Eyewitness News" in New York City opened last night with Anchorman Joe Torre saying "more on Hillary Clinton's Death." The opening line, however, seems edited-OUT of the video archive! Did Hillary die after leaving the 9-11 Ceremony in New York . . . and the information is being concealed? A whole slew of irregularities have cropped-up indicating that may actually be the case! Here is the video segment from the 11:00 PM "Eyewitness News" broadcast of September 11, 2016 in which Anchorman Joe Torre seems to say Hillary Clinton is DEAD...

No matter, Trump is going to squash them all like bugs since people are just tired of all this bullshit...its a job, just do what you are paid to do and without all the drama!!! You know I'm a fence sitter between agnostic and flat out atheist...

09/09/16 - Space Is Not Empty: What The Whole World Should Know About The Quantum Vacuum

"A century from now, it will be well known that: the vacuum of space which fills the universe is itself the real substratum of the universe; vacuum in a circulating state becomes matter; the electron is the fundamental particle of matter and is a vortex of vacuum with a vacuum-less void at the center and it is dynamically stable; the speed of light relative to vacuum is the maximum speed that nature has provided and is an inherent property of the vacuum; vacuum is a subtle fluid unknown in material media; vacuum is mass-less, continuous, non viscous, and incompressible and is responsible for all the properties of matter; and that vacuum has always existed and will exist forever. Then scientists, engineers and philosophers will bend their heads in shame knowing that modern science ignored the vacuum in our chase to discover reality for more than a century." - The quote above comes from Paramahamsa Tewari, Inventor of whats called the Reactionless AC Synchronous Generator (RLG).

Quantum physicists discovered that physical atoms are made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating, each one radiating its own unique energy signature. This is also known as the Vacuum or The Zero-Point Field.

Whats even more fascinating is that the stuff within this space can be accessed and used. This was experimentally confirmed when The Casimir Effect illustrated zero point or vacuum state energy, which predicts that two metal plates close together attract each other due to an imbalance in the quantum fluctuations(source)(source). You can see a visual demonstration of this concept here. Before Casimir, these pockets of nothing were thought to be voids.

Unfortunately, when contemplating the nature of our reality and what we perceive to be our physical world, the existence of the vacuum and and what lies within what we call space is very much over-looked. I find it amusing how were still searching for the God particle when a large amount of evidence points to the idea that most of what we refer to as reality is actually something we cant perceive with our physical senses!

Space is actually not empty and its full of energyThe energy in space is not trivial theres a lot of it and we can actually calculate how much energy there is in that space and that reality might actually come out of it. Everything we see is actually emerging from that space.

09/09/16 - 56,000 Miles In A BMW i3 Rex, Using Just 50 Gallons Of Gas
KeelyNet My 2014 BMW i3 REx is now 27 months old, and the mileage on the odometer just recently surpassed 56,000 miles. Ive needed a little over 15,000 kWh of electricity, and exactly 50 gallons of gas to power the vehicle thus far. That means Ive driven on pure battery about 96% of the time, and managed an impressive overall gasoline consumption of 1,120 mpg.

Normally I wouldnt highlight the gasoline use in my electric car; its really not something most electric vehicle owners like to do. However, as many Chevrolet Volt owners can attest to, adding a range extender to a short range (under 100 mile AER) electric vehicle can expand its versatility immensely. While I havent needed to use the REx often, there were plenty of times, especially in the winter, that I was very happy it was there.

Back in early 2014, a few months before the North American i3 launch, I openly debated whether Id buy the BEV or the i3 REx. I ultimately decided on getting the range extender, because the EPA range rating wasnt as high as I had previously hoped. If the i3 BEV had an all electric range of 95 miles per charge or higher, I would have opted for the BEV. The EPA rating of 81 miles per charge just wouldnt be enough for my high mileage driving needs, and even though I had lived the past five years with two pure BEVs the MINI-E and ActiveE I chose to go back to gas with the i3 REx.

To put the tiny amount of gas my i3 needed for the past 27 months into perspective, more gas is used in a year to mow my lawn. I have a large lot, its a little over two acres and most of it is grass. So I asked my lawn maintenance contractor how much gasoline he needs to mow the lawn and he told me about a gallon and a half. Our lawn gets cut between 32 and 36 times a mowing season, including Fall clean-ups, and that adds up to about 50 gallons of gas. Ive spent about $145 on gasoline, but since I have solar, its difficult to assess exactly how much the electricity cost me. To simplify things, Ill just assume I was paying market rate for the approximate 15,000 kWh Ive needed. Im currently paying about 11 cents per kWh, so thats $1,650 for the electricity. Therefore, even if I had paid market rate for all my electric, the total cost to power my car 56,000 was $1,795, or $.03 per mile. Im sure if I could factor in the exact solar discount, Id be closer to about $.015 per mile, which is pretty incredible.

I can now look back on the decision to get the range extender and confidently say it was the right choice. I probably could have managed with the BEV if the climate here in New Jersey was more like Southern California, but along with the harsh winter weather comes reduced range. From December through February, I averaged only about 55 to 60 miles per charge, down from the 70 to 75 I can rely on during the rest of the year. If only the BEV i3 offered the 95 or so miles of electric range I had hoped, then it would have adequately served all of my needs outside of the occasional long-distance trip. In which case we would have just used my wifes car for the long trips instead. In fact, if I didnt have the range extender, there would have been many days where I took my wifes car, just in case. Most of these days, I never needed to fire up the REx, but having it there allowed me to use the car that day and not worry about rearranging my day to find a place to plug in. Im sure if I had bought a BEV i3, it wouldnt have 56,000 miles on it already. - 56,000 Miles In A BMW i3 Rex, Using Just 50 Gallons Of Gas

09/09/16 - The AntiNano Healing Bucket

    Keelynet

    Quinn shares this amazing device that uses an intense field claimed to expel nano particles that produce many health problems;

    Wow, what a good find! I'll work it up for Keelynet. It looks like a combination of three things;

    1) the Dotto ring which uses a near zero voltage pure currnet from a peltier junction; The Dotto Ring

    2) my low power Mexistim switches at 3 or 15 minutes depending on model but this device only runs for 3 seconds or so; the Mexistim

    3) Bedini's Thumper high magnetic pulsed device; the Thumpy Pulsed Electromagnetic coil and More on the Thumpy.

As I understand it, positive on for 3 seconds, then off 3 seconds, then negative on for 3 seconds, then off 3 seconds and repeat.

Can't get copper wire easily in Mexico so just ordered two 100 foot rolls of #12 gauge single wire from eBay, that would do at least two buckets. He really needs a complete, detailed page instead of the very loose two pages that give instructions to build... They both recommend using a 5vdc 5amp computer power supply and one says a modified train transformer will work...but this thing needs the lowest possible voltage so you get a nearly pure current, as much as possible like the Dotto Ring. Lots of room for experiment here.

How to Use - 3 ways to do this

Formula 1 take 3 gallons of Vinegar( white) and add 1/8-1/4 cup of salt and stir to mix thoroughly, then connect power supply

Formula 2 3 gallons of Distilled water and 1-2 caps of DMSO and Citric acid 1/8-1/4 cup and Salt 1/8-1/4 cup mix and then connect power supply. Sit with either one leg or both in the pail for 20-30 minutes.

Formula 3 - take TSP -1/8 cupSalt 1/8 cup Citric Acid 1/8 cup-Distilled water 3-3.5 gallons (12 litres for the metrically orientated) mix and set the bucket it up and place foot or feet into the bucket with the coils activated 20-30 minutes.

The video says the idea is to momentarily run high current through the single coil to produce a very intense magnetic field focused into the bucket. Basically switching the positive for 3 seconds, then the negative current for 3 seconds and repeat. I would add a power switch or a timer that would shut off all power after a set time.

09/09/16 - New Applications for Ultracapacitors
KeelyNet Devices called ultracapacitors have recently become attractive forms of energy storage: They recharge in seconds, have very long lifespans, work with close to 100 percent efficiency, and are much lighter and less volatile than batteries. But they suffer from low energy-storage capacity and other drawbacks, meaning they mostly serve as backup power sources for things like electric cars, renewable energy technologies, and consumer devices. Startups energy-storage devices find uses in drilling operations, aerospace applications, electric vehicles.

Based on MIT research, FastCAPs ultracapacitors store up to 10 times the energy and achieve 10 times the power density of commercial counterparts. Theyre also the only commercial ultracapacitors capable of withstanding temperatures reaching as high as 300 degrees Celsius and as low as minus 110 C, allowing them to endure conditions found in drilling wells and outer space. Most recently, the company developed a AA-battery-sized ultracapacitor with the perks of its bigger models, so clients can put the devices in places where ultracapacitors couldnt fit before.

A longtime goal has been to bring ultracapacitors to electric and hybrid vehicles, providing high-power capabilities for stop-start and engine starting, torque assist, and longer battery life. In March, FastCAP penned a deal with electric-vehicle manufacturer Mullen Technologies. The idea is to use the ultracapacitors to augment the batteries in the drivetrain, drastically improving the range and performance of the vehicles. Based on their wide temperature capabilities, FastCAPs ultracapacitors could be placed under the hood, or in various places in the vehicles frame, where they were never located before and could last longer than traditional ultracapacitors.

The devices could also be an enabling component in fuel-cell vehicles, which convert chemical energy from hydrogen gas into electricity that is then stored in a battery. These zero-emissions vehicles have difficulty handling surges of power and thats where FastCAPs ultracapacitors can come in, Cooley says.

The ultracapacitors can sort of take ownership of the power and variations of power demanded by the load that the fuel cell is not good at handling, Cooley says. People can get the range they want for a fuel-cell vehicle that theyre anxious about with battery-powered electric vehicles. So there are a lot of good things we are enabling by providing the right ultracapacitor technology to the right application. - New Applications for Ultracapacitors

About 50 million people visit New York every year & more than 8 million live there but no one seems to have heard of The Teardrop. yet its a 100ft tall, 175-ton memorial to those who died on the citys blackest day.

Whichever way you look at it, this was a damn smart move by the Russians. And what a beautiful memorial a huge tear-drop coupled with the names of all those who perished. The West seemingly hell bent on pushing Russia into a corner in Ukraine & with the Zionist controlled media trying to hide their own complicity in the downing of flight MH17 & so continuing to blame Russia for something they had nothing to do with, it hardly looks good on the Zionists if they highlight the Tear-Drop when theyre desperately trying to make Russia look bad. - Tear Drop A Gift From the People of Russia to the USA. 09/09/16 - A Double-Slit Quantum Eraser Experiment
This experiment uses the phenomena of interference, produced by light incident on a double slit, to investigate the quantum mechanical principle of complementarity between the wave and particle characteristics of light. Using a special state of light, Walborn and his coworkers created an interference pattern, made a "which-way" measurement which destroyed the interference, and then erased the "which-way" marker, bringing the interference back. This experiment clearly displays the way in which nature is counterintuitive on the quantum scale and makes it clear that our ways of thinking based on our everyday experiences in the classical world are often completely inadequate to understand the quantum world.

From this experiment it is apparent that interference is destroyed by a "which-way" marker and that it can be restored through erasure of the marker, accomplished by making the appropriate measurement on the entangled partner photon p.

In this set up, the "which-way" measurement does not alter the momentum or position of the photons to cause destruction of the interference pattern. We can think of the loss of interference as being due only to the fact that the photons are entangled and that the presence of the quarter wave plates changes this entanglement. The interference pattern can be brought back through the erasure measurement because of the entanglement of the photons, and the way that the presence of the quarter wave plates and polarizer changes the entanglement.

Entanglement is not something we encounter in our everyday world. The concept of locality does not hold for the entangled state like it does for everything in our experience. We encounter things that have a particular location, we can say that a particular thing is here and not there. We certainly do not encounter things that are in two places at once. However, this is possible on the quantum level. Two photons that are in an entangled state can be separated across the universe, but they are still connected together.

In this experiment, with each measurement that was performed, the way the photons were entangled changed. This caused the very strange results that were observed. We like to think about photon p as being in one place and photon s as being in another apart from p. But this is not really the case.. We have to start thinking in ways that aren't consistent with what we experience in our larger scale world. Entanglement seems to play a very important role on the quantum scale of the world, so we need to think about it in new ways.

This quantum erasure experiment is one of many experiments being done that provides a way for us to better understand the strange nature of quantum mechanics. We have encountered strange concepts like entanglement and non-locality. Perhaps this is just the beginning of a journey to a deeper understanding of the universe and new discoveries.

Causality is meant to move in one direction: forward. But the Quantum Eraser experiment seems to reverse causality. How and why can this happen and what are the implications of this experiment on how we understand Quantum Mechanics and our greater universe? - A Double-Slit Quantum Eraser Experiment

09/09/16 - This Crazy Tree Grows 40 Kinds of Fruit
Sam Van Aken, an artist and professor at Syracuse University, uses "chip grafting" to create trees that each bear 40 different varieties of stone fruits, or fruits with pits. The grafting process involves slicing a bit of a branch with a bud from a tree of one of the varieties and inserting it into a slit in a branch on the "working tree," then wrapping the wound with tape until it heals and the bud starts to grow into a new branch. Over several years he adds slices of branches from other varieties to the working tree. In the spring the "Tree of 40 Fruit" has blossoms in many hues of pink and purple, and in the summer it begins to bear the fruits in sequenceVan Aken says it's both a work of art and a time line of the varieties' blossoming and fruiting. He's created more than a dozen of the trees that have been planted at sites such as museums around the U.S., which he sees as a way to spread diversity on a small scale. - This Crazy Tree Grows 40 Kinds of Fruit

09/04/16 - Transparent solar panels are 50 times more productive than regular photovoltaics
Solar Window - As the term regular windows suggests, users dont have to replace the existing windows in their home, but need only treat them with a special process developed by the company.

We apply liquid coatings to glass and plastic surfaces at ambient pressure, and dry these coatings at low temperature to produce transparent films, Conklin continued. We repeat these processes, and then collectively these coatings and thus the glass and plastic surfaces generate electricity.

Of these coatings, the most important is the so-called Active Layer, through which electricity is generated by the absorption of light, and the transparent conductors, which allow the electricity to be extracted. [The] coatings are primarily organic, primarily from carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen, Conklin said. We are constantly refining each of the layers to improve on the power were able to extract from these coatings and enhance their manufacturability.

In addition to buildings, Conklin notes that some of the possible applications of this tech include the automotive industry, where a sunroof, windscreen or even side view mirrors could be turned into solar panels. There are also aerospace and military use-cases, and even the possibility of a flexible fabric being developed.

In all, its an exciting area to be working in, with some impressive math on its side. What kind of math? By the companys estimates, a 50-story building with solar windows could generate around 1.3GWh every twelve months. For those keeping track, thats enough energy to power around 130 homes for an entire year. - Transparent solar panels are 50 times more productive than regular photovoltaics

    09/04/16 - CIA-Backed D-Wave Quantum Computer
As everyone was busy arguing over the bread and circus elections, the CIA was busy funding a computer so powerful that it is described as tapping into the fundamental fabric of reality and the man who owns the company says being near one is like standing at the altar of an alien God.

Geordie Rose, Founder of D-Wave (recent clients are Google and NASA) believes that the power of quantum computing is that we can `exploit parallel universes to solve problems that we have no other means of confirming. Simply put, quantum computers can think exponentially faster and simultaneously such that as they mature they will out pace us. - CIA-Backed D-Wave Quantum Computer

09/04/16 - Nasty USB Killer is now available to buy, but approach with caution
Remember the USB Killer? It was a nasty piece of hardware that, once plugged into a laptop, would fry its component. Well, now you can buy one for yourself. The mysterious company behind the device is selling the latest version of the USB Killer for 50 euros ($55) and is promoting it as a testing tool. The USB Killer works by sending a 220-volt through the computer, which renders it useless. The makers claim that the USB is intended for testing the surge protection in devices but it raises eyebrows at the same time.

They go on to explain that their device can destroy 95 percent of computers (not including Apple) so the potential for abuse is worrying. Almost all consumer-level hardware fails when tested against the USB Kill, the site reads. The most frequent outcome is the complete destruction of the device (laptops, TV, telephones, etc).

It may be intended for security researchers and tinkerers, but if anyone can buy it, it can be used maliciously. Its all the more reason to not flippantly plug in USBs you find lying around. The companys FAQ page says it strongly condems [sic] malicious use of its products but pointed out that all customers are responsible for how it is used.

We dont know who exactly is behind the USB Killer. Early demonstration videos of the nasty hardware showed an allegedly Russian hacker going by the pseudonym Dark Purple. However the press release announcing the devices availability lists Hong Kong as the companys location. Mashable attempted to find out more and contacted the makers, who said they were indeed based in Hong Kong. As well as selling the USB Killer, it is also selling a USB Kill Tester Shield, which claims it can allow you test the USB without killing your computer. Approach with caution. - Nasty USB Killer is now available to buy, but approach with caution

09/04/16 - Bold Inventor Releases Futuristic Concept of a Self-Driving Apartment
KeelyNet Bombardier, in collaboration with Ashish Thulkar, a vehicle designer at the Indian Institute of Science, has presented yet another futuristic idea: self-driving apartment roomsthats not a typo for self-driving cars, were really talking about apartments.

This hypothetical autonomous room, named Tridika, can be driven like a car, and attached to an apartment as an additional room. They envision it working on magnets instead of wheels.

It would, however, require buildings to be equipped to accommodate it using a ramp (like an elevator) that would lift it and allow it to attach to your floor in a condominium building.

Imaginactive, seems to live on a motto we can all relate to: dream now, figure out details later. And by the way, if you think youre as much of a dreamer as Bombardier and his peers, maybe you should give your idea a go through their website. Perhaps you too can unburden yourself from the societal constraints of budgets or even physical possibility. - Bold Inventor Releases Futuristic Concept of a Self-Driving Apartment

09/04/16 - Why Are There So Many Psychopaths in Positions of Power?
A 2010 study that examined a sample of 203 individuals from different companies management development programs revealed something interesting. It was found that about 3% of business managers scored in the psychopath range while the incidence of psychopathy in the general population is approximately 1%. So why are there so many psychopaths in senior management positions?

The Study - A more recent study, published in 2014 in the Journal of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychology, shed new light on the behavior of psychopaths, which could explain this phenomenon. During an experiment, a group of people were given a standard test of psychopathy. At the same time, the participants were shown a series of picture aimed to test their levels of empathy. For this purpose, the researchers measured their galvanic skin response to examine their emotional reaction to the shown pictures.

The research showed that psychopaths with average or high levels of intelligence were able to control their galvanic skin response. As a result of this, their responses appeared normal. At the same time, psychopaths with low IQ exhibited abnormal test results, which are typical for individuals with psychopathic tendencies.

What the Results Mean - Psychopaths are great manipulators, and this research provides new evidence for that. The results of the study suggest that psychopaths with high IQs are able to hide their true identity, faking their emotional responses and probably personality traits as well. As a result, they often show a different picture of themselves and trick others into believing this is their real self.

Carolyn Bate, the first author of the study, said: The ones who are at the top of businesses are often charming and intelligent, but with emotional deficits, as opposed to psychopaths who are quite erratic and tend to commit gruesome crimes and are often caught and imprisoned. She also thinks that psychopaths in positions of power could be far more than 3%, because if people are aware they are psychopathic they can also lie they are quite manipulative and lack empathy. - Why Are There So Many Psychopaths in Positions of Power?

09/04/16 - War is Good for Business: US Arms Makers Invest in a New Cold War
In an Aug, 9 memo obtained by Bloomberg News, Gilmore warned senior Pentagon officials that the F-35 program is actually not on a path toward success but instead on a path toward failing to deliver the aircrafts promised capabilities. He said the program is running out of time and money to complete the planned flight testing and implement the required fixes and modifications.

The military testing czar reported that complex software problems and testing deficiencies continue to be discovered at a substantial rate. As a result, the planes may fail to track moving targets on the ground, warn pilots when enemy radar systems spot them, or make use of a newly designed bomb. Even the F-35s gun may not function properly.

Devastating Assessments - The internal Pentagon assessment was just the latest in a long list of devastating critical assessments and development setbacks for the plane. They include repeated groundings of the plane due to fires and other safety issues; the discovery of dangerous engine instability; and helmets that can cause fatal whiplash. The plane even got soundly beaten in a mock engagement with a much older (and cheaper) F-16.

Lockheeds Lobby Machine - Lockheed continues to pump money into the American political system to ensure that it remains the nations largest military contractor. From 2008 to 2015, its lobbying expenditures exceeded $13 million in all but one year. The company sprinkled business from the F-35 program into 46 states and claims that it generates tens of thousands of jobs. Among the 18 states enjoying a claimed economic impact of more than $100 million from the fighter jet is Vermont which is why the F-35 gets the support even of Sen. Bernie Sanders.

President Dwight Eisenhower delivering his farewell address on Jan. 17, 1961. As he told one town hall meeting, It employs hundreds of people. It provides a college education for hundreds of people. So for me the question is not whether we have the F-35 or not. It is here. The question for me is whether it is located in Burlington, Vermont or whether it is located in Florida.

In 1961, President Eisenhower observed that the conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry had begun to influence every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. In his famous farewell address to the nation, Eisenhower warned that we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. How right he was. But not even Ike could have imagined the extravagant costs to the nation of failing to hold that complex at bay ranging from a trillion-dollar fighter jet program to the needless and far more dangerous resurrection of the Cold War a quarter century after the West achieved victory. - "War is Good for Business: US Arms Makers Invest in a New Cold War

09/04/16 - Pentagon is worrying about 'Terminator' coming true
The idea behind the Terminator films specifically, that a Skynet-style military network becomes self-aware, sees humans as the enemy, and attacks isnt too far-fetched, one of the nations top military officers said this week. Nor is that kind of autonomy the stuff of the distant future. Were a decade or so away from that capability, said Gen. Paul Selva, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. With such a sci-fi prospect looming, top military thinkers and ethicists are beginning to consider the practical consequences. But the more they do, the more its clear that there is considerable disagreement about just how much freedom to give machines to make their own decisions.

In some cases, the benefits of autonomy may outweigh the risks, Scharre says. Speed of decisionmaking is one example. Innovations such as self-driving cars also mark a tremendous opportunity in the coming years to save tens of thousands of lives, Scharre says. The question, experts add, is whether these potential lives saved will outweigh potential though likely fewer lives lost if the automatic systems go awry.

For his part, Kendall imagines much bigger changes in weapons automation. We still send human beings carrying rifles down trails to find the enemy. We still do that. Why? he wondered allowed. I dont think we have to do that anymore, but it is an enormous change of mind-set. Autonomy is coming, he added. KeelyNet BBS Files w/bonus PDF of 'Keely and his Discoveries'
KeelyNet Finally, I've gotten around to compiling all the files (almost 1,000 - about 20MB and lots of work doing it) from the original KeelyNet BBS into a form you can easily navigate and read using your browser, ideally Firefox but it does work with IE. Most of these files are extremely targeted, interesting and informative, I had forgotten just how much but now you can have the complete organized, categorized set, not just sprinklings from around the web. They will keep you reading for weeks if not longer and give you clues and insights into many subjects and new ideas for investigation and research. IN ADDITION, I am including as a bonus gift, the book (in PDF form) that started it all for me, 'Keely and his Discoveries - Aerial Navigation' which includes the analysis of Keely's discoveries by Dr. Daniel G. Brinton. This 407 page eBook alone is worth the price of the KeelyNet BBS CD but it will give you some degree of understanding about what all Keely accomplished which is just now being rediscovered, but of course, without recognizing Keely as the original discoverer. Chapters include; Vibratory Sympathetic and Polar Flows, Vibratory Physics, Latent Force in Interstitial Spaces and much more. To give some idea of how Keely's discoveries are being slowly rediscovered in modern times, check out this Keely History. These two excellent bodies of information will be sent to you on CD. 'The Evolution of Matter' and 'The Evolution of Forces' on CD
KeelyNet Years ago, I had been told by several people, that the US government frequently removes books they deem dangerous or 'sensitive' from libraries. Some are replaced with sections removed or rewritten so as to 'contain' information that should not be available to the public despite the authors intent. A key example was during the Manhattan Project when the US was trying to finalize research into atomic bombs. They removed any books that dealt with the subject and two of them were by Dr. Gustave Le Bon since they dealt with both energy and matter including radioactivity. I had been looking for these two books for many years and fortunately stumbled across two copies for which I paid about $40.00 each. I couldn't put down the books once I started reading them. Such a wealth of original discoveries, many not known or remembered today. / Page 88 - Without the ether there could be neither gravity, nor light, nor electricity, nor heat, nor anything, in a word, of which we have knowledge. The universe would be silent and dead, or would reveal itself in a form which we cannot even foresee. If one could construct a glass chamber from which the ether were to be entirely eliminated, heat and light could not pass through it. It would be absolutely dark, and probably gravitation would no longer act on the bodies within it. They would then have lost their weight. / Page 96-97 - A material vortex may be formed by any fluid, liquid or gaseous, turning round an axis, and by the fact of its rotation it describes spirals. The study of these vortices has been the object of important researches by different scholars, notably by Bjerkness and Weyher. They have shown that by them can be produced all the attractions and repulsions recognized in electricity, the deviations of the magnetic needle by currents, etc. These vortices are produced by the rapid rotation of a central rod furnished with pallets, or, more simply, of a sphere. Round this sphere gaseous currents are established, dissymetrical with regard to its equatorial plane, and the result is the attraction or repulsion of bodies brought near to it, according to the position given to them. It is even possible, as Weyher has proved, to compel these bodies to turn round the sphere as do the satellites of a planet without touching it. / Page 149 - "The problem of sending a pencil of parallel Hertzian waves to a distance possesses more than a theoretical interest. It is allowable to say that its solution would change the course of our civilization by rendering war impossible. The first physicist who realizes this discovery will be able to avail himself of the presence of an enemy's ironclads gathered together in a harbour to blow them up in a few minutes, from a distance of several kilometres, simply by directing on them a sheaf of electric radiations. On reaching the metal wires with which these vessels are nowadays honeycombed, this will excite an atmosphere of sparks which will at once explode the shells and torpedoes stored in their holds. With the same reflector, giving a pencil of parallel radiations, it would not be much more difficult to cause the explosion of the stores of powder and shells contained in a fortress, or in the artillery sparks of an army corps, and finally the metal cartridges of the soldiers. Science, which at first rendered wars so deadly, would then at length have rendered them impossible, and the relations between nations would have to be established on new bases." - More Info

14 Ways to Save Money on Fuel Costs
KeelyNetThis eBook is the result of years of research into various methods to increase mileage, reduce pollution and most importantly, reduce overall fuel costs. It starts out with the simplest methods and offers progressively more detailed technologies that have been shown to reduce fuel costs. As a bonus to readers, I have salted the pages with free interesting BONUS items that correlate to the relevant page. Just filling up with one tank of gas using this or other methods explained here will pay for this eBook. Of course, many more methods are out there but I provided only the ones which I think are practical and can be studied by the average person who is looking for a way to immediately reduce their fuel costs. I am currently using two of the easier methods in my own vehicle which normally gets 18-22 mpg and now gets between 28 and 32 mpg depending on driving conditions. A tank of gas for my 1996 Ford Ranger costs about $45.00 here so I am saving around $15-$20 PER TANK, without hurting my engine and with 'greener' emissions due to a cleaner burn! The techniques provided in this ebook begin with simple things you can do NOW to improve your mileage and lower your gas costs. - eBook Download / More Info

    Guidelines for Alternative Science

Alternative science covers a wide range of interests. Generally, it includes gravity control, free energy, electronic healing techniques, all forms of energy conversion, antigravity, levitation, overunity, time travel (as well as slowing down or speeding up local time).

Also clearly covered is the art of power generation (ideally zero point or aether conversion), space travel, physics of matter and energy, sound/acoustics and how it can be used to produce useful phenomena, electric or magnetic forces to produce useful phenomena, various types of motors, vacuum energy, dimensional travel and shifts, medicine, hydrogen generation and how it is used.

It also covers oil/petroleum and how it can be used to produce energy and products, weather control for cancelling earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, floods and to produce rain or clear weather on demand, oxygen/ozone therapy, nitrogen as a motor driver, water generation and manipulation via steam and vacuum, ecological restoration techniques, biophysics, rejuvenation and an unending list of other subjects, most of which are accepted by 'orthodox' science.
