KeelyNet "This is the true joy in life: To being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. To being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

KeelyNet I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work, the more I live.

08/30/16 - New Solar-Powered Device Revives Hydrogen Economy Dream

Despite a plethora of naysayers, research is progressing apace on deploying hydrogen as a sustainable fuel that also doubles as an energy storage opportunity. The latest development illustrates just how quickly that pace is accelerating. A research team based at Switzerlands Ecole Polytechnique Fdrale de Lausanne has just demonstrated a working solar powered device that breaks through one barrier to the hydrogen economy of the future.

Rather than plunging into uncharted territory in the photovoltaic field, the research team developed a strategy aimed at using solar technology that already has a proven commercial track record.

They settled on a set of three crystalline silicon solar cells silicon being the gold standard for commercial solar technology. The family of crystalline solar cells already accounts for about 90 percent of todays commercial market, according to the research team. Instead of using conventional crystalline solar cells, though, the EPFL team used an advanced version referred to as heterojunction technology.

With the solar energy in hand, the next step was to find a low cost catalyst for the water-splitting part of the operation. They selected nickel, which is far more abundant and inexpensive than conventional high efficiency catalysts. The result, according to EPFL, is a world record for hydrogen production without the use of expensive rare metals: The device is able to convert solar energy into hydrogen at a rate of 14.2 percent, and has already been run for more than 100 hours straight under test conditions. In terms of performance, this is a world record for silicon solar cells and for hydrogen production without using rare metals.

As for how close that gets you to the hydrogen economy of the future, the device is still in the prototype stage. If scaled up, though, the potential is impressive: A 12- to14-m2 system installed in Switzerland would allow the generation and storage of enough hydrogen to power a fuel cell car over 10,000 km every year, says Christophe Ballif, who co-authored the paper.

In addition, if the nickel-enabled catalyst cannot be scaled up efficiently, the research team offers an alternative pathway: Nearly identical performance levels were also achieved using a customized state-of-the-art proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer. As silicon heterojunction solar cells and PEM electrolysis systems are commercially viable, easily scalable and have long lifetimes, the devices demonstrated in this report can open a fast avenue toward the industrialization and deployment of cost effective solar-fuel production systems. - New Solar-Powered Device Revives Hydrogen Economy Dream

08/30/16 - New Tracking Method That Fits Anybodys Budget
KeelyNet One company has created a tiny device with an advanced tracking app that works with iPhone or Android phones and it could be exactly what youre looking for. What is it? Its called TrackR, its about the size of a quarter and its revolutionizing the way we keep track of our important things.

How does it work? Simple! You only need to install the thin battery in the TrackR, download the free app on your iPhone or Android, link the device to the app and then attach TrackR to whatever you want to keep tabs on. In less than 5 minutes you are ready to go! Once its all set up you can even attach it to your suitcases when you travel, cars, your keys, your wallet, your expensive electronics and anything else you can think of. The possibilities are endless!

Tracking your stuff really is that easy. No monthly subscriptions or bills to pay! You have enough stress to deal with let TrackR keep tabs on your valuables while you tend to lifes real problems. Lets say you want to track your car, simply hide the tiny device anywhere like under the floor mats, in the glove compartment or in the trunk. (Somewhere it wont be found if your car gets stolen!)

Now, if you ever forget where you parked your car you can quickly find it using your smartphone. All you need to do is open the app on your phone, click on the find device icon and it will tell you exactly where the TrackR was last seen and the coordinates of its current location.

Unlike most of the GPS tracking units sold today, the TrackR only costs $29! Thats a small price to pay for peace of mind isnt it?

As we said before the TrackR has unlimited possibilities. Do you have a pet that is always getting lost? Attach it to their collar and track them when they run out of the house. Do you find yourself misplacing your wallet or keys too often? Then attach it to them and never worry about them again!

The TrackR even comes with two sided tape so you can stick it to flat surfaces like underneath bike seats or your expensive electronic devices (because bikes & electronics are easy targets for thieves!) - New Tracking Method That Fits Anybodys Budget

    08/30/16 - Pizza by Drone
Aerial pizza delivery may sound futuristic but Domino's has been given the green light to test New Zealand pizza delivery via drones. The fast food chain has partnered with drone business Flirtey to launch the first commercial drone delivery service in the world, starting later this year.

Domino's Group chief executive and managing director, Don Meij said the company had been investigating innovative and new delivery methods as business had grown. This included looking at robotic delivery, which the government is still considering. Details around where the trial would be held have been kept under wraps - however Domino's said it would use drone delivery alongside its usual delivery methods - and only where it would be faster than the use of a car or scooter.

It will offer drone delivery specials at the launch of the trial with plans to extend the dimensions, weight and distance of the deliveries throughout the trial, based on results and customer feedback. The company will not offer the full range of its products for drone delivery - and only those customers within a certain distance from a store will be served from the air. - Pizza by Drone

About Tulpoids - The mindworld and the physical world then have in common the same time dimension. Dynamic movements in each world (mind and matter) result in an exceedingly small crosstalk being projected into the other world, a crosstalk so small as to be virtual and normally unmeasurable. Establishing one-to-one coherence between crosstalk from a mindworld constitutes the creation of a biological organism. The crosstalk from the mindworld and a physical structure in the ordinary world to the physical world has previously been labeled inception by me, and a mechanism whereby such a minute psychokinetic effect on matter can be amplified to a macroscopically observable level, or even beyond, has been derived. Thus a fundamental mechanism whereby tulpoid activity (projections from the collective unconscious materializing into the ordinary physical world), in a format determined by the collectively higher levels of unconsciousness in the race, national group, culture, subculture, and personal unconsciousness) is developed and explained. - Muslims revived from death tell chilling truth of Allah and Islam

08/30/16 - U.S. Healthcare: Most Expensive and Worst Performing
The origin of the phrase "You get what you pay for" is sometimes attributed to the fashion mogul Aldo Gucci, who said, "The bitterness of low quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded." But when it comes to healthcare, Americans get neither quality nor affordability.

The United States healthcare system is the most expensive in the world, but when it comes to health outcomes, it performs worse than 11 other similar industrialized nations, according to a new report released today by the Commonwealth Fund. The nonprofit examined the health systems of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, and it found that the U.S. was last or near-last in measures of health access, efficiency, and equity.

Both the U.K. and U.S. ranked low on the "Healthy lives" scale, which considers infant mortality, healthy life expectancy at age 60, and mortality from preventable conditions, such as high blood pressure. The U.S. spends 17.7 percent of GDP on healthcare, much more than all of the other countries, while Australia spends the least8.9 percent.

The metric the U.S. performed best on was "effective care." Particularly laudable were our preventative care efforts, which included things like physicians asking patients to eat healthy and exercise, and doctors' offices sending patients appointment reminders. The U.S. fared poorly, meanwhile, when it came to managing administrative hassles for both doctors and patients, avoiding emergency room use, and reducing duplicative medical testing, all part of the score for "efficient care."

Americans also had the worst equity of care between high-income and low-income patients. "The U.S. health care system is not the 'fairest of them all,'" the authors write, "At least from the viewpoint of those who use it to stay healthy, get better, or manage their chronic illnesses, or who are vulnerable because of low income and poor health." - U.S. Healthcare: Most Expensive and Worst Performing

08/30/16 - VW says 300-mile range EV will charge in 15 minutes and cost less than gas version
Two factors rank high on the list of reasons why people hesitate to buy all-electric cars: range per charge and high price relative to petroleum-powered models. A top Volkswagen exec touted a new electric vehicle (EV) planned for the 2018-2019 model year with a 300-mile range. Now the CEO of VW Group says plans include a 15-minute charge time and a price lower than gas models, according to Engadget.

Mller characterized the plans for the Volkswagen for the digital age as a challenge to the groups top engineers. Their goal: to create an electric car that can be as iconic as the Golf and offer a 500km (310-mile) range while having a charge time of 15 minutes and costing less than a conventionally engined car.

Driving range per charge, charging time needed, and the availability of suitable chargers are EV technology issues faced by all current and potential electric vehicle manufacturers. Driving range is a factor of battery power, measured in kilowatt hour (kWh). The more powerful the battery, the greater the cost and the longer it takes to charge.

Engadget reported that charging a battery sufficient for 300 miles of driving in 15-minutes would require 800-volt charging technology. As a comparison point, Teslas Model S gains 58 miles of range per hour of 240-volt charging. So if VW is going to deliver on the 300-mile range with 15 minutes of charging promise, charging technology development will need to make a big leap pretty fast. And then the chargers will have to be widely available if owners are going to use the EVs for longer trips.

With autonomous vehicle and electric car development both promising huge advances in the next 5 to 10 years, all major car companies will see more changes than in any previous period. Volkswagen alone has said its line of New Urban Vehicles will include a coupe, a minibus, a small delivery van, a city-ready SUV, and a luxury sedan. - VW says 300-mile range EV will charge in 15 minutes and cost less than gas version

08/30/16 - Converting gaseous carbon dioxide to fuel
Every year, humans advance climate change and global warming - and quite likely our own eventual extinction - by injecting about 30 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

A team of scientists from the University of Toronto (U of T) believes they've found a way to convert all these emissions into energy-rich fuel in a carbon-neutral cycle that uses a very abundant natural resource: silicon. Silicon, readily available in sand, is the seventh most-abundant element in the universe and the second most-abundant element in the earth's crust.

The idea of converting carbon dioxide emissions to energy isn't new: there's been a global race to discover a material that can efficiently convert sunlight, carbon dioxide and water or hydrogen to fuel for decades. However, the chemical stability of carbon dioxide has made it difficult to find a practical solution.

In an article in Nature Communications published August 23, Ozin and colleagues report silicon nanocrystals that meet all the criteria. The hydride-terminated silicon nanocrystals - nanostructured hydrides for short - have an average diameter of 3.5 nanometres and feature a surface area and optical absorption strength sufficient to efficiently harvest the near-infrared, visible and ultraviolet wavelengths of light from the sun together with a powerful chemical-reducing agent on the surface that efficiently and selectively converts gaseous carbon dioxide to gaseous carbon monoxide.

The potential result: energy without harmful emissions. "Making use of the reducing power of nanostructured hydrides is a conceptually distinct and commercially interesting strategy for making fuels directly from sunlight," said Ozin.

The U of T Solar Fuels Research Cluster is working to find ways and means to increase the activity, enhance the scale, and boost the rate of production. Their goal is a laboratory demonstration unit and, if successful, a pilot solar refinery. - Converting gaseous carbon dioxide to fuel

08/30/16 - Scottish Firm Claims Commercial Tidal Power Breakthrough
KeelyNet A power company in Shetland has claimed a breakthrough in the race to develop viable offshore tidal stations after successfully feeding electricity to local homes.

Nova Innovation said it had deployed the worlds first fully operational array of tidal power turbines in the Bluemull Sound between the islands of Unst and Yell in the north of Shetland, where the North Sea meets the Atlantic.

It switched on the second of five 100 kW turbines due to be installed in the sound this month, sending electricity on a commercial basis into Shetlands local grid.

The Nova-30 device will be built locally as well, thanks to a fabrication agreement between Leith-based Nova Innovation Ltd and Steel Engineering, which has a newly expanded Renfrew facility. The new premises, which will help the Steel Engineering meet its ambition to create 120 new jobs, were officially opened by Scotlands First Minister Alex Salmond today. 08/26/16 - Sponge creates steam using ambient sunlight

The design, which the researchers call a "solar vapor generator," requires no expensive mirrors or lenses to concentrate the sunlight, but instead relies on a combination of relatively low-tech materials to capture ambient sunlight and concentrate it as heat. The heat is then directed toward the pores of the sponge, which draw water up and release it as steam.

From their experimentsincluding one in which they simply placed the solar sponge on the roof of MIT's Building 3the researchers found the structure heated water to its boiling temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, even on relatively cool, overcast days. The sponge also converted 20 percent of the incoming sunlight to steam. The low-tech design may provide inexpensive alternatives for applications ranging from desalination and residential water heating, to wastewater treatment and medical tool sterilization.

The team has published its results today in the journal Nature Energy. The research was led by George Ni, an MIT graduate student; and Gang Chen, the Carl Richard Soderberg Professor in Power Engineering and the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; in collaboration with TieJun Zhang and his group members Hongxia Li and Weilin Yang from the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, in the United Arab Emirates.

Building up the sun - The researchers' current design builds on a solar-absorbing structure they developed in 2014a similar floating, sponge-like material made of graphite and carbon foam, that was able to boil water to 100 C and convert 85 percent of the incoming sunlight to steam. To generate steam at such efficient levels, the researchers had to expose the structure to simulated sunlight that was 10 times the intensity of sunlight in normal, ambient conditions. "It was relatively low optical concentration," Chen says. "But I kept asking myself, 'Can we basically boil water on a rooftop, in normal conditions, without optically concentrating the sunlight? That was the basic premise."

In ambient sunlight, the researchers found that, while the black graphite structure absorbed sunlight well, it also tended to radiate heat back out into the environment. To minimize the amount of heat lost, the team looked for materials that would better trap solar energy. In their new design, the researchers settled on a spectrally-selective absorbera thin, blue, metallic-like film that is commonly used in solar water heaters and possesses unique absorptive properties. The material absorbs radiation in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum, but it does not radiate in the infrared range, meaning that it both absorbs sunlight and traps heat, minimizing heat loss.

The researchers obtained a thin sheet of copper, chosen for its heat-conducting abilities and coated with the spectrally-selective absorber. They then mounted the structure on a thermally-insulating piece of floating foam. However, they found that even though the structure did not radiate much heat back out to the environment, heat was still escaping through convection, in which moving air molecules such as wind would naturally cool the surface.

A solution to this problem came from an unlikely source: Chen's 16-year-old daughter, who at the time was working on a science fair project in which she constructed a makeshift greenhouse from simple materials, including bubble wrap. "She was able to heat it to 160 degrees Fahrenheit, in winter!" Chen says. "It was very effective."

Chen proposed the packing material to Ni, as a cost-effective way to prevent heat loss by convection. This approach would let sunlight in through the material's transparent wrapping, while trapping air in its insulating bubbles. "I was very skeptical of the idea at first," Ni recalls. "I thought it was not a high-performance material. But we tried the clearer bubble wrap with bigger bubbles for more air trapping effect, and it turns out, it works. Now because of this bubble wrap, we don't need mirrors to concentrate the sun."

The bubble wrap, combined with the selective absorber, kept heat from escaping the surface of the sponge. Once the heat was trapped, the copper layer conducted the heat toward a single hole, or channel, that the researchers had drilled through the structure. When they placed the sponge in water, they found that water crept up the channel, where it was heated to 100 C, then turned to steam.

Chen and Ni say that solar absorbers based on this general design could be used as large sheets to desalinate small bodies of water, or to treat wastewater. Ni says other solar-based technologies that rely on optical-concentrating technologies typically are designed to last 10 to 20 years, though they require expensive parts and maintenance. This new, low-tech design, he says, could operate for one to two years before needing to be replaced. "Even so, the cost is pretty competitive," Ni says. "It's kind of a different approach, where before, people were doing high-tech and long-term [solar absorbers]. We're doing low-tech and short-term."

"What fascinates us is the innovative idea behind this inexpensive device, where we have creatively designed this device based on basic understanding of capillarity and solar thermal radiation. Meanwhile, we are excited to continue probing the complicated physics of solar vapor generation and to discover new knowledge for the scientific community," Zhang says.

Notice when water spreads out thinly over a surface, it heats up and disappears in minutes? Seems like if you had thin layers of water over a dark heated surface, stacked or somthing similar, you could increase the steam output significantly. Just sayin' - JWD - Sponge creates steam using ambient sunlight

    08/26/16 - Oxbotica's Software For Self-Driving Cars Doesn't Need GPS Signal
The GATEway Project in London will use Selenium to control 8 autonomous, all-electric shuttles at Heathrow Airport. Oxbotica is also providing the cloud-based management software for the project, which will allow registered passengers to book a ride on the pod-shaped shuttles as well as allow the pods to find the best routes and communicate with other pods.

Oxbotica's software will also be part of the UKAutodrive project in 2017, which puts as many as 40 self-driving low-power electric pods on the streets of Milton Keynes. They'll be joined by a small fleet of regular passenger vehicles from Ford, Tata Motors, and Jaguar Land Rover made increasingly autonomous with the addition of Selenium on the roads of Milton Keynes and Coventry. Those vehicles will be driving at normal speeds along the M1 with everyone else.

The passenger vehicles will only operate fully autonomously in "some controlled circumstances," according to the project's website. The pods, however, are designed to drive fully autonomously. The goal is to allow them, over the course of the three-year project, to drive without human help. Like, without anyone inside the vehicle. (Though someone will always monitor the pods, even if it's remotely.)

Oxbotica's website notes that not relying on GPS signals means the software can operate anywhere: in tunnels, underground, or inside vast warehouses. While we wait for our autonomous commuter cars to take to the streets, autonomous vehicles that work best in limited circumstances like these will probably be available first. - Oxbotica's Software For Self-Driving Cars Doesn't Need GPS Signal

KeelyNet The ANU team, whose CST technology harnesses the power of the sun using a 500 square meter solar concentrator dish, made the breakthrough by redesigning the systems receiver in a way that halved its convection losses and boosted its conversion of sunlight into steam from 93 per cent to 97 per cent. According to the ANUs Dr John Pye, the new design could result in a 10 per cent reduction in the cost of solar thermal electricity.

Ultimately the work in this project is all about reducing the cost of concentrating solar thermal energy, he said. Our aim is to get costs down to 12 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity, so that this technology will be competitive. Im optimistic that our technology can play a role in the grid, by helping to provide power at night without fossil fuel power stations running.

The team, from the ANU Research School of Engineering is part of a broader group of scientists working in the area, with funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, to generate cheaper base-load electricity from renewable energy sources. When our computer model told us the efficiency that our design was going to achieve, we thought it was alarmingly high. But when we built it and tested it, sure enough, the performance was amazing.

At 500 square metres, the ANU solar concentrator is the largest of its kind in the world, and works by focussing the power of 2,100 suns onto the receiver, through which water is pumped and heated to 500C. The energy is stored in molten salt. The teams new receiver design is described as a cavity that resembles a top hat with narrow opening and a wide brim.

When sunlight is focused onto the pipes, it heats the water as it enters at the brim and spirals up into the cavity, reaching peak temperature deep inside the cavity, thus minimising heat loss. Heat that does leak out of the cavity can be absorbed by the cooler water around the hats brim, the team said. The overall efficiency of this receiver, with the measured as-built dish optics and at the reference solar elevation angle of 30 was 98.7%, the report said.

This accounts for reflection, emission and convection losses, and is a ratio of the heat absorbed by the working fluid to the total reflected solar irradiance incident upon the receiver surface. The ANU team says it has already had commercial interest in the solar thermal system. - ANU team cracks solar thermal efficiency of 97% a world record

08/26/16 - Server receives $500 tip after simple act of kindness
KeelyNet A server's simple act of compassion went a long way this week. Kasey Simmons, who works at a Dallas-area Applebee's restaurant, was waiting in a grocery store checkout line last Monday when he noticed another patron an older woman looking dejected. So Simmons chatted with the woman. When she reached the register, he even paid for her groceries.

"It was only $17, but it's not about the money. It's about showing someone you care," Simmons told a local ABC affiliate.

But Simmons had no idea just how grateful the woman was. The next day, her daughter visited Simmons' workplace and left a $500 tip on a $0.37 bill.

In a letter written on a restaurant napkin, the daughter explained that the day at the grocery store was a hard one for her mother: it marked the third anniversary of her husband's death.

"My mother did not need you to help her, but you made her year," the daughter wrote. To clarify: we are not crying; you're crying. - Server receives $500 tip after simple act of kindness

08/26/16 - How Specific Wavelengths of Light (NIR) Can Heal, Kill Bacteria

Multiple sclerosis (MS) causes progressive paralysis by destroying nerve cells and the spinal cord. It interrupts vision, balance and even thinking. On a suggestion from a colleague, Jeri-Anne Lyons decided to test how the disease responded to a radical therapy exposure to a certain wavelength of light called near-infrared (NIR). Never in a million years did I think it would help, says Lyons, an associate professor of biomedical sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), who studies the role of the immune response in MS. But it did. In rodent models, early MS-like symptoms were treated with exposure to NIR light for a week, alternating with a week of no light. The clinical condition of the mice improved.

Professor Janis Eells, who shared the idea with Lyons, had the same initial reaction after she used NIR therapy on rats to treat blindness caused by poisoning, a condition thought to be permanent. Repeating experiments again and again, she found that certain doses of NIR light allowed lab animals to regain their sight. Scientists have known for years that certain wavelengths of light in certain doses can heal, but they are only now uncovering exactly how it works, thanks in large part to three UWM faculty researchers, including Chukuka S. Enwemeka, dean of UWMs College of Health Sciences who is internationally known for his work in phototherapy.

Enwemeka researches the effects of both NIR and blue light in the visible range on healing wounds. Among his discoveries is that some wavelengths of blue light can clear stubborn infections even MRSA, the antibiotic-resistant superbug form of Staphylococcus aureus.

Together, the UWM cluster has found that NIR and blue light repair tissue in dramatically different ways, but both act on the same enzyme in the cells energy supply center: the mitochondria. The studies have revealed key information about managing the effects of aging and disease.

So how is light accomplishing such wonders? - In applying NIR light therapy to MS, Lyons has identified the right timing and dose. But shes also dug deeper, analyzing the effect the light had on the activities of the animals genes. It turns out, molecules that would make the disease worse were weakened after exposure to the light, and the ones responsible for improvement were strengthened. Eells says NIR light acts on the mitochondria and a particular enzyme, cytochrome C oxidase, to stimulate cell repair.

Light can do all that? - Were not talking about white light [all wavelengths in the visible spectrum combined] as treatment, but only certain wavelengths, at a certain intensity, for a certain amount of time, says Lyons. Like ingested medication, its all about the dose. Determining the best wavelength of light for phototherapy is a difficult task.

KeelyNet Studies show that 670 nanometer (nm) and 830 nm light are beneficial, but 730 nm (violet plant grow light) is not.

The other difficult task is determining the appropriate dose and dose regimen for delivering the light.

Even more exciting is phototherapys potential to improve a host of other degenerative diseases. Damaged mitochondria lead to a rise in destructive free radicals, which play a key role in aging and cancer. Its why we try to put antioxidants into our diets, says Lyons, to fight that process.

One source of free radicals comes from the inflammation caused by the bodys immune response. The researchers have found that after an injury or illness triggers the immune response, NIR light resets the mitochondria so they function normally again. NIR reduces inflammation, says Eells. If you can tone down the inflammation in an eye disease like retinitis pigmentosa, you slow the progression of the disease.

A similar observation with inflammation occurred in a study on recalcitrant bedsores, she adds. Wounds treated with phototherapy healed two and a half times more quickly than untreated wounds. Chronic non-healing wounds are stuck in the inflammatory phase of wound healing The light removes that obstacle, says Eells. She has been working with Tim Kern at Case Western Reserve in treating an animal model of diabetic retinopathy with NIR light, which has been shown to slow progression and reduce the severity of the condition. Kern hopes to initiate a clinical trial in the near future.

NIR light heals by ensuring that cytochrome oxidase binds with oxygen to turn on protectors and stimulate cell metabolism. Blue light, on the other hand, causes a toxic environment when the immune response has been triggered. That poisonous effect hastens healing of topical wounds by killing bacteria that cause infection. The question is, What gives light in the longer wavelength its antibiotic effect? Enwemekas studies suggest that blue light also acts on the mitochondrial enzyme site, but allows cytochrome oxidase to bind with nitric oxide, a free radical that is elevated in the immune response. Its a pairing that poisons the invader. This theory is still unproven, but the therapy has achieved undeniable results in the lab with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Enwemeka demonstrated that one dose of irradiation killed as much as 92 percent of two pervasive strains of MRSA.

He is working to improve that success rate by getting the light to penetrate deeper in order to finish off the few colonies that survive irradiation. Enwemeka is leading a research effort in Brazil and at UWM that he hopes will ultimately lead to clinical use of NIR and blue light in the U.S. for the treatment of wounds.

In the six years since he was asked to test the effects of blue light on MRSA, he says, research on the topic has picked up. But currently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not sanctioned the use of blue light in treating wounds, or NIR light for conditions other than wounds and pain. With so much success, why isnt phototherapy being used more widely? Its considered alternative therapy in Western medicine. It seems too simple for people to accept, says Lyons. What the FDA is waiting for, says Enwemeka, is confirmation from a large-scale clinical study before approving phototherapy for a wider variety of ailments. Its something Enwemeka and Harry Whelan, a UWM alumnus and physician-researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin, are determined to accomplish. - How Specific Wavelengths of Light (NIR) Can Heal, Kill Bacteria

    08/21/16 - Clacking
Clacking is a noise like two metal plates slapping against each other, I guess as opposed to clanking where the plates would be very dense or heavy.

    After lunch today, I laid down for a siesta. Had a rather sharp dream where I asked,;

    I was standing in a room that was all black, with only me and the space around me lighted. About 20 seconds after I asked the question again, I heard a deep, booming voice say;

The light faded out and I woke up. So, like most dips having such a minor experience, it got me to thinking 'its a sign'...yeah, right, well something to think about. I have many files on inertial drives on Keely that deal with the topic of throwing weight in a preferred direction, then stopping it so the inertia of the mass causes the mass to jerk in that direction with a unidirectional force.

Mechanics are sloppy so it should be possible to use other forces such as gyroscopic thrust. All a matter of how heavy are the thrown weights and how far are they thrown before they are stopped to give the greatest distance. The 4th video is an example of 'clanking' from the Chompers scene in the hilarious movie 'Galaxy Quest.'

08/20/16 - Help handing out Warren Buffetts fortune
Each year, Buffett, the billionaire investor, receives thousands of letters from people asking whether he would pay their mortgages, medical bills, credit card debt, and more. Through a unique sibling partnership, Buffett forwards the letters to his older sister, Doris, who decides which ones to fund. Over the past decade, at least 22,000 letters have crossed their collective desks, and they have given away more than $12 million. And now, in what might be Bostons most unusual volunteer opportunity, Doris Buffett who moved to the city last fall is looking for people in Greater Boston to help her read a backlog of those letters, as well as new batches that continually arrive.

My brother is putting up the money, so were sort of limitless, Buffett, 88, said in an interview with the Globe. Hes told me that any time I run out of money, all I have to do is call him. In recent years, Doris Buffett has had about a dozen volunteers helping her review letters in Fredericksburg, Va., where she previously lived, and Rockport, Maine, where she has a summer home. But that group has dwindled, so she wants to replenish its ranks with people from the Boston area. That proximity is important because Buffett wants volunteers who can meet with her regularly she lives in the Back Bay to discuss which funding requests are reasonable.

Her goal is to provide what she calls life-changing grants to people who, for reasons beyond their control, have fallen on hard financial times. A check from Doris Buffett is not akin to hitting the lottery; her gifts average about $4,800, although her largest to an individual was nearly $100,000. The intent is to stabilize people struggling with money woes. Bad things happen to good people, and sometimes, even if you try everything and keep plugging away, it doesnt work and you just have no options, said Noni Campbell, one of Doris Buffetts original volunteers. When theres rent or cancer bills that have to be paid, a thousand dollars when youre in a very, very bad position in your life is like a million dollars.

The Buffetts estimate they make at least 250 gifts each year totaling about $1.2 million, although some years the annual total has exceeded $2 million. The money is funneled through Doris Buffetts Sunshine Lady Foundation, which she created with an inheritance in 1996 and which also receives funding requests from strangers. Warren Buffett transfers Berkshire Hathaway stock now worth more than $221,000 for each class A share to replenish the fund when it gets low.

Volunteers do background checks on letter writers, including research on their income, assets, and debts. They contact references, which grant applicants are required to supply. Sometimes, rather than provide money, the volunteers teach letter writers how to budget and connect them to government services or nonprofit groups that can lend assistance. They must also be on the alert for scam artists, such as people who write numerous letters from the same address using different names.

Life experience is also important, she said, because wisdom and perspective often come with age. For that reason, she usually chooses older volunteers, but Buffett said she would not rule out younger applicants because some young people are wise beyond their years.

Another requirement: In keeping with the homespun spirit of Buffetts operation, applicants must apply by letter, not electronically.

    Have a need, sent a letter to;

    292 Newbury Street
    Suite 503
    Boston, MA 02115

For all letters, please include your name, birthdate, return mailing address and an email address. If writing for to ask for help, the more detail the better.

If writing to offer your services as a letter reader, be sure to include why you think you are good fit for the work.

Confirm Your Driver's License - After receiving your letter, we will send an email directing you to an ID authentication process. This includes taking a high-quality photo of the front and back of your government issued ID or driver's license on your smartphone.

08/20/16 - Electrified sand, carbolic acid and concussions to encourage Rain
KeelyNet Perhaps one of the most ambitious attempts to produce rain was that of Prof. Wilber D. Bancroft, professor of physical chemistry at Cornell University, and L. Francis Warren, another scientist. Back in February, 1923, they tried to dispel clouds and fogs with electrically charged sand and at the same time they attempted to precipitate rain from massed vapor.

These two men obtained the co-operation of the Army Air Service and they carried on their experiments from airplanes over McCook Field, near Dayton, Ohio. They were hailed as pioneers and the end was envisioned of the London fog, as well as the fogs which endangered shipping on seaports of America and Europe. It was their plan to fly 400 to 500 feet over the clouds. The plane would discharge the electrified sand above the tops of the clouds, enlarging the drops, coalescing them or causing uncharged drops to evaporate, thereby compelling the larger drops to descend in rainfall. Mr. Warren maintained at the time that they actually dispelled clouds in ten minutes. However, in cases of drought where there were no clouds, the problem might be beyond their reach or control, they said.

A special apparatus had been attached to the airplane which could discharge 30,000 to 40,000 volts. The plane carried eighty pounds of sand of 150 mesh. It had a wind-driven generator and electric equipment capable of discharging sand charged either positively or negatively, according to the will of the operator. The plane went at 100 miles an hour over the specific cloud region. Little of rain-making value developed out of these experiments.

Still later, aviators tried to break a drought in Hongkong, China, by dropping powdered kaolin in the clouds, thereby hoping to precipitate rain. But their efforts were futile. During the latter part of the last century it was generally believed that fires might bring down rain. James Espy, a meteorologist of Pennsylvania, was the greatest exponent of this theory. But this idea also went up in thin air.

Other notions were that explosions and concussions could produce showers. But the World war, with all the heavy artillery explosions, and a couple of volcano eruptions have discredited the concussion theory for making rain-drops.

Back in 1891, a Chicagoan named Gathman shot a stream of carbolic acid 600 feet into the air. He maintained that clouds formed as a result and rain was subsequently produced. But then again, there is no positive record of his accomplishment. Besides, carbolic acid offers no allurements in this field for practical purposes.

In 1893, a Frenchman named Baudouin, was supposed to have caused rain by establishing an electrical contact with clouds through the medium of a kite. He said it worked twice in Algeria. By removing the kite he stopped the rain, he said. But that was so long ago no one remembers whether it did rain in Algeria on that particular day. But getting down to a constructive viewpoint, C. F. Marvin, chief of the United States Weather Bureau, has manifested a deep interest in all attempts to make rain. There is no disputing the fact that a successful machine would be priceless, that its inventor would go down not only as one of mankinds greatest benefactors but also one of the most celebrated engineers.

So intrigued was the weather bureau at Washington that two officials were on hand during Dr. Sykes demonstration at Belmont Park. The field is open, they said. One of them expressed the opinion that many a cellar may harbor the discarded apparatus which might have served the purpose if only brought out into the open and developed. There is no limit to the possibilities of an apparatus which can do away with drought and the rain-check.

Science Still Seeks a Rain-Making Machine (Jan, 1931) - In 1893, a Frenchman named Baudouin, was supposed to have caused rain by establishing an electrical contact with clouds through the medium of a kite. He said it worked twice in Algeria. By removing the kite he stopped the rain, he said. But that was so long ago no one remembers whether it did rain in Algeria on that particular day.

In 1893, A. Baudouin in France hoisted kites with a conducting rope to a height of 1200 meters and asserted that in such cases a fog was generated and rain drops precipitated. However, numerous experiments in other countries could not obtain convincing results in support of this method. 08/20/16 - How to not get yourself killed by Police doing their job
KeelyNet The big problem we are seeing is with how people react to many times, they run, they try to fight or they reach in a pocket and wind up shot dead. Best way to keep out of trouble with the law is to keep your nose clean, have a basic knowledge of your rights & know how to act.

Save lives and share with your friends and family by sharing with them how they should act when dealing with police. The police are just like you and me, trying to do their job so they can return safely to their families and friends.

In my north Texas hometown of 6,000 people we all knew the police and their families and went to school with or hung out with their kids. They all looked after us like uncles and grandads and cut us some slack so we could learn. I will never, EVER forget the police who took care of all of us. You can bet if we got out of hand, they'd drive us home and let our parents know and thats when we got the real lesson.

It was not so much what we did, but the embarrassment and shame we brought to our family and friends that taught us the best. And it followed us to school so we learned not to do that again. Here is the essence of the list on how to respectfully deal with Police who are there to protect all of us; First and most important thing is to calm down and STFU. -

    1.. Calm down
    2. Keep your hands visible
    3. Shut up
    4. Have your ID handy
    5. As if you are being detained
    6. Do not consent to illegal searches
    7. Do not resist or even give the impression that you will
    8. Do not become 'super negro' or 'billy badass'
    9. Tell your friends to follow the above rules as well
    10. Use your eyes, ears and memory about what happens

Imagine what it would be like if we had no police to watch over our us, anarchy and chaos everywhere. So please respect and honor our police! - JWD

Johnny Law and You: 10 Simple Rules for Police Encounters - When I was a kid, The Talk meant something different. It meant a father telling his son or a mother telling a daughter about the birds and the bees, a necessary education that all parents should give their children about human sexuality when they reached a certain age. But now, The Talk has come to mean rules of survival for a Black boy in the mean streets, particularly when it comes to encounters with police. As we have seen within the last month, not every Black boy survives these encounters. Still, not every kid gets this education, or is clear on how to handle such an experience. So now is a good time to lay down some rules to use or tell your son or daughter when it comes to Mr. Johnny Law. - How to not get yourself killed by Police doing their job

08/20/16 - Poll: Three out of five Texans who support Trump want secession if Hillary becomes president
KeelyNet If anyone needs proof that the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton truly is dividing the country, they should look to Texas. According to poll results from Public Policy Polling released Tuesday, three out of five Texans who support Donald Trump said they would support seceding from America if Hillary Clinton becomes president.

Data from the left-leaning polling firm shows that Trump leads Clinton by a margin of 50 percent to 44 percent in Texas. This is far from the landslide win for Mitt Romney in the 2012 election. Four years ago, Romney beat President Barack Obama 57.2 percent to 41.4 percent. According to the polling results from PPP, only one out of four Texans support seceding from America generally. But when faced with the possibility of a President Hillary Clinton, a majority of Trump supporters said they'd rather leave.

PPP is known for asking offbeat and sometimes humorous questions. In December, the firm discovered 30 percent - about one out of three - Republican primary voters supported bombing Agrabah, the fictional Arabian city from the Disney film Aladdin. The survey didn't ask if people knew Agrabah doesn't actually exist. PPP found Texans overall have an unfavorable opinion of both candidates (59 percent for Clinton and 53 percent for Trump).

When independents "candidates" Deez Nuts and Harambe (a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo who was put down after grabbing a child) were included, Trump came out on top at 47 percent. Clinton got 38 percent while Deez Nuts got 3 percent and Harambe got 2 percent. As for President Obama, 54 percent of Texans polled said they disapprove of his job performance. In 2012, 51 percent of the Texans polled said they voted for Mitt Romney, compared to the 38 percent who voted for Obama (11 percent said they don't remember who they voted for).

Other interesting results from the survey include 30 percent of Texans identifying as moderate, compared to 13 percent identifying as somewhat liberal and 29 percent as somewhat conservative. A small number said they were very liberal (9 percent) or very conservative (19 percent). While most Texans identify as Republican (41 percent), 24 percent say they are independent while the remaining 35 percent identify as Democrat.

'Why not Texit?': Texas nationalists look to the Brexit vote for inspiration - Daniel Miller and others draw parallels with what they call Britains ill-suited relationship with Europe and frustration in Lone Star state with US government. There are a lot of people asking, if Brexit why not Texit? he says. I do talk with some folks over there on a pretty regular basis that are involved in Ukip and the Conservative party.

The night before we met, Miller addressed a local Tea Party group, drawing parallels between Brexit and Texit, which the TNM is pushing as a hashtag. In Millers telling, Britains relationship with Europe was a marriage of convenience between ill-suited partners that has become stormy and ripe for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences, with too much sovereignty ceded to an ineffective central bureaucracy and too much hard-earned money sent elsewhere.

The current body calling itself the Republic of Texas believes that Texas never actually ceded its sovereignty to the United States when it joined the union (some prefer the term annexed) in 1845. The great deception can be undone stay tuned, their website states. They run a parallel system of government, with Republic of Texas identity cards and coins.

The TNM, meanwhile, seeks secession through political avenues and calls for the people of Texas to decide via a referendum. Miller claims that the group has 260,000 supporters. It has fans in Russia among mischief-makers who would relish the break-up of the United States. It also has advocates in the Texas Republican party, even though removing one of the biggest and most reliably red states from the US would make it far easier for the Democrats to win presidential elections. What would the country of Texas be like? I dont think well have checkpoints at the border with Louisiana, Miller deadpans. Trump may have to move his wall a little further north. - Poll: Three out of five Texans who support Trump want secession if Hillary becomes president

08/20/16 - Resonant Frequencies and the Cure for Cancer
It is observed that both biological effects and epidemiological effects appear to be the same or very similar from ELF exposure and from RF/MW exposures, including calcium ion efflux, melatonin reduction, DNA strand breakage, chromosome aberrations, leukaemia, brain cancer, breast cancer, miscarriage and neurological effects.

A frequently used method for falsely dismissing evidence of effects is to consider effects in small frequency and intensity bands. In fact, biophysics shows that the dielectric constant decreases monotonically with carrier frequency across the EMR spectrum, Schwan (1985). Vignati and Giuliani (1997) show that for a unit field exposure, the induced current increases significantly as a function of frequency.

Calcium ions were induced to flow out of or into cells, depending of the combination of exposure conditions. These combinations are known as windows because nearby conditions have markedly different effects. Figure 7 shows RF induced Ca2+ efflux which is associated with enhanced programmed cell death (Apoptosis). The ELF induced and Ca2+ influx is associated with enhanced cell survival of damaged cells, i.e. it enhances cancer.

In the past century, there have been many attempts to treat cancer with low levels of electric and magnetic fields. We have developed noninvasive biofeedback examination devices and techniques and discovered that patients with the same tumor type exhibit biofeedback responses to the same, precise frequencies. Intrabuccal administration of 27.12 MHz radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (EMF), which are amplitude-modulated at tumor-specific frequencies, results in long-term objective responses in patients with cancer and is not associated with any significant adverse effects. Intrabuccal administration allows for therapeutic delivery of very low and safe levels of EMF throughout the body as exemplified by responses observed in the femur, liver, adrenal glands, and lungs.

In vitro studies have demonstrated that tumor-specific frequencies identified in patients with various forms of cancer are capable of blocking the growth of tumor cells in a tissue- and tumor-specific fashion. Current experimental evidence suggests that tumor-specific modulation frequencies regulate the expression of genes involved in migration and invasion and disrupt the mitotic spindle. This novel targeted treatment approach is emerging as an appealing therapeutic option for patients with advanced cancer given its excellent tolerability. Dissection of the molecular mechanisms accounting for the anti-cancer effects of tumor-specific modulation frequencies is likely to lead to the discovery of novel pathways in cancer. - Resonant Frequencies and the Cure for Cancer

08/20/16 - Mexico's New Auto Plants can't Find Enough Labor

North American auto OEMs and their tier 2 suppliers have been in a race to move auto production across borders to low-cost countries (LCCs) for the past couple of decades as soaring wages, pension and OPEB obligations made production in the U.S. all but impossible. Supporters of minimum wage hikes could learn from the efforts of the United Auto Workers Union which did a masterful job negotiating off-market wage and benefits packages which ultimately only served to provide their members with permanent job losses.

Of course, the groundwork for the shift of auto production to Mexico was laid with the passage of NAFTA in 1993 by former President Bill Clinton (a fairly inconvenient fact that Hillary would prefer to forget). Since then, Mexico has been a huge beneficiary of automotive plant relocations with offsetting closures coming from the U.S. and Canada. A chart from the Wall Street Journal, perfectly illustrates the transition of production capacity to our southern neighbor.

And now, with Detroit unemployment still over 10% (in spite of Obama's stellar jobs "recovery"), newly constructed auto plants in Mexico have only 1 problem, they can't find enough labor. Per the Wall Street Journal, soaring auto demand (or if you're as cynical as we are, soaring demand for subprime paper backed by loans on brand new $70,000 Escalades made to people with a 550 credit score) and substantial new auto manufacturing capacity in Mexico has resulted in a bit of a labor crisis. To attract workers, OEMs are being forced to pay over 300% more than minimum wage and provide incentives like retention bonuses and "new cowboy boots." Another lesson for minimum wage supporters...labor markets work...when labor demand exceeds supply then wages rise. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true as low-skilled American workers are acutely aware.

Ford is scheduled to open a new $1.6 billion small-car assembly factory in San Luis Potos in 2018 and hire 2,800 workers. People familiar with the matter say Ford will produce its Focus there, which is currently built in Michigan.

A contract reviewed by The Wall Street Journal puts factory wages at the facility at about $1.15 to $2.30 per hour, on par with what other auto-assembly plants currently pay in the region. The move to Mexico will yield cost savings of about $1,300 per vehicle, or about $300 million a year, according to manufacturing experts familiar with the Detroit car maker's finances. - Mexico's New Auto Plants can't Find Enough Labor

08/14/16 - Solar physicist sees global cooling ahead
KeelyNet Recent research by Professor Valentina Zharkova (Northumbria University) and colleagues has shed new light on the inner workings of the Sun. If correct, this new discovery means that future solar cycles and variations in the Suns activity can be predicted more accurately.

The research suggests that the next three solar cycles will see solar activity reduce significantly into the middle of the century, producing conditions similar to those last seen in the 1600s during the Maunder Minimum. This may have implications for temperatures here on Earth. Future solar cycles will serve as a test of the astrophysicists work, but some climate scientists have not welcomed the research and even tried to suppress the new findings.

To most of us the sun seems unchanging. But if you observe its surface, it is seething with vast explosions and ejections. This activity has its origin in intense magnetic fields generated by swirling currents in the suns outer layer scientists call it the solar dynamo. It produces the well-known 11-year solar cycle which can be seen as sunspots come and go on the suns surface.

But models of the solar dynamo have only been partially successful in predicting the solar cycle and that might be because a vital component is missing. After studying full-disc images of the suns magnetic field, Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University and colleagues, discovered that the suns dynamo is actually made of two components coming from different depths inside the sun.

The interaction between these two magnetic waves either amplifies solar activity or damps it down. Professor Zharkovas observations suggest we are due for a prolonged period of low solar activity.

This ties in with the claims of remote viewer Ed Dames "Killshot" claiming solar spots move over the sun to focus the energy and beam it out (see photo above), that we are close to it focusing on earth which could cause massive EMP to destroy all electric and electronic devices. The internal splashing of the solar magma would cause spikes and valleys. 08/14/16 - Atievas Electric Van Edna Smokes A BMW i8 & Dodge Viper
Want to watch a rather clunky-looking white van blow past a BMW i8 and a Dodge Viper in a drag race? Why wouldnt you? Im talking of course about Atievas electric van Edna which is actually a Mercedes-Benz Vito van featuring one of Atievas ridiculous 900-horsepower, all-wheel-drive powertrains.

Autooblog provides more on the new video, noting that in the earlier drag-race Edna was hitting 60 mph in a little over 3 seconds. Comparatively, BMW lists the i8s 060 time at 4.2 seconds, though Road & Track clocked it at 3.8 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds. The Viper does 060 in 3.4 seconds. Before you even watch the video above, you can imagine how it will end, as the retuned Atieva Edna rips 060 mph in 2.94 seconds. Atieva clocked the quarter mile at 11.3 seconds at 117 mph.

How has Atieva been improving on what was already a wicked-fast van? Atieva says it has used testing data to fine tune its AC induction motors at higher speeds once it got low-speed performance locked in, Autoblog adds. After testing in the hot California sun, including the race you see above, Atieva drove Edna 90 miles home with range to spare.

The Californian electric vehicle companys plans call for the very impressive powertrain to be featured a vehicle with a more consumer friendly appearance to it than the van featured in the video above, naturally. Current production plans call for a sedan to be released sometime in 2018. 900 horsepower!!!...I AM the Power! - Atievas Electric Van Edna Smokes A BMW i8 & Dodge Viper

Harnessing Nature To Do The Work - April 21, 1985 - By Jon Van, Chicago Tribune - CHICAGO The force at work when you twirl a ball around your head on the end of a string can be harnessed and put to work to propel a boat through water. To many engineers, the notion of harnessing gravity to drive a vehicle smacks of the impossible, something like a perpetual motion machine. But Jack Gilbert and Steve Witter of Suffren, N.Y., have built a device that does just that.

The device consists of two whirling weights analogous to balls on strings. The difference is that these weights are mounted on rotating plates with eccentric pivots so that at one point in the rotation the weights are extended far from the center of the plate and at the opposite point of rotation, they are close to the center.

Because the plates rotate in opposite directions, the effect is to cancel out all the opposing centrifugal forces except those pushing in a single direction. By mounting this unit on a tripod of wheels, Gilbert has harnessed the force to push the unit forward in a series of pulses as the weights spin.

In the next year Gilbert plans to build a bigger version of the centrifugal force propulsion system and to mount it inside a boat 18 feet long. He expects that the unit, driven by a standard gasoline engine, can propel the boat up a river at more than 20 mph without using a propeller or any other device external to the boat. That will reduce drag on the boat and allow it to move through very shallow waters, Gilbert said.

''Anytime you can harness a force of nature and make it work for you, you will use less energy, and that's the idea here,'' he said. Though it is doubtful that the unit will ever replace auto engines, Gilbert said another use might be in propelling a craft upward from the ground, a hovercraft configuration. 08/14/16 - Nuts To Replace Animal Proteins Reduces Inflammation
KeelyNet The Romans considered many nuts food of the gods. A few decades ago nuts were valued for their protein, vitamins, and minerals. Then in the 1980s they were seen primarily as fat-and-calorie landmines--to be avoided by all except those trying to gain weight. But during the last decade, nuts have been on the rise, thanks to research pointing to their potential heart benefits. A greater intake of nuts, especially in place of animal proteins, could reduce inflammation - a key process in the development of cardiovascular disorders, a study has found.

An impressive array of studies--large and small, from around the world--have now found that people who eat nuts regularly cut their risk of heart disease by as much as half, compared to those who rarely or never eat nuts. Eating nuts daily has been linked to lower all-cause mortality.

Results revealed that five or more servings of nuts per week was associated with lower numbers of certain inflammatory biomarkers. This association remained significant after further adjustment for body mass index. However, no significant association was observed with tumour necrosis factor receptor 2 (TNFR2) - one of the biomarkers being tracked in the study. In addition, substituting three servings of nuts per week for three servings of red meat, processed meat, eggs, or refined grains per week was associated with significantly lower levels of a type of biomarker known as C-reactive protein (CRP).

"Reducing inflammation as a potential mechanism that may help explain the benefits of nuts on cardiometabolic diseases." Data collected from a cross-sectional study enrolled 5013 participants who were free of diabetes. Substituting 3 servings of nuts per week for 3 servings of red meat correlated to low levels of inflammatory biomarkers. Substituting three servings of nuts per week for three servings of red meat, processed meat, eggs, or refined grains per week was associated with significantly lower CRP and IL-6. Bao also commented that studies also show nut consumption linked to long-term weight loss despite being an energy-dense food. Weight loss is associated with a decrease in levels of inflammatory biomarkers. Therefore these links between eating nuts and inflammatory marker numbers could be facilitated in some measure through an individual’s body mass index.

All nuts have a lot in common. Most have 160 to 190 calories and 14 to 19 grams of fat per ounce; at least three-quarters of the calories come from fat. They are also among the best plant sources of protein. There are some nutritional differences. Walnuts are richest in heart-healthy alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid similar to those in fish); almonds are richest in calcium and vitamin E; brazil nuts are the best dietary source of selenium. Macadamia nuts have the most calories and fat; chestnuts the least (just 70 calories and 1 gram of fat). And peanuts are not true nuts, but legumes (like dried beans). Similar nutritionally to nuts, peanuts contain some resveratrol, a beneficial compound found in grapes.

Stick To Raw and Unprocessed - An ounce or two a day will do. Instead of using nuts as a snack, when you might eat large amounts, use them as part of a meal. Chopped nuts are tasty in fruit or vegetable salads, yogurt, oatmeal and breakfast cereals. When possible, substitute nuts for foods rich in saturated fat. Organic raw peanut butter, for instance, is definitely a healthier choice for a sandwich than cheese or most meats. - Nuts To Replace Animal Proteins Reduces Inflammation

08/14/16 - The Thorium - Car Runs For 100 Years Without Refueling
"If your car was powered by thorium, you would never need to refuel it. The vehicle would burn out long before the chemical did. The thorium would last so long, in fact, it would probably outlive you. That's why a company called Laser Power Systems has created a concept for a thorium-powered car engine. The element is radioactive, and the team uses bits of it to build a laserbeam that heats water, produces steam, and powers an energy-producing turbine.*" Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks discuss.

If your car was powered by thorium, you would never need to refuel it. The vehicle would burn out long before the chemical did. The thorium would last so long, in fact, it would probably outlive you. Thats why a company called Laser Power Systems has created a concept for a thorium-powered car engine. The element is radioactive, and the team uses bits of it to build a laserbeam that heats water, produces steam, and powers an energy-producing turbine.

Thorium is one of the most dense materials on the planet. A small sample of it packs 20 million times more energy than a similarly-sized sample of coal, making it an ideal energy source. The thing is, Dr. Charles Stevens, the CEO of Laser Power Systems, told Mashable that thorium engines wont be in cars anytime soon. Cars are not our primary interest, Stevens said. The automakers dont want to buy them.

He said too much of the automobile industry is focused on making money off of gas engines, and it will take at least a couple decades for thorium technology to be used enough in other industries that vehicle manufacturers will begin to consider revamping the way they think about engines. Were building this to power the rest of the world, Stevens said. He believes a thorium turbine about the size of an air conditioning unit could more provide cheap power for whole restaurants, hotels, office buildings, even small towns in areas of the world without electricity. At some point, thorium could power individual homes.

Stevens understands that people may be wary of Thorium because it is radioactive but any such worry would be unfounded. The radiation that we develop off of one of these things can be shielded by a single sheet off of aluminum foil, Stevens said. You will get more radiation from one of those dental X-rays than this.

The Mythology of the Thorium Car, Thorium Plasma Batteries, and More! - While the Thorium powered Cadillac car is wickedly cool looking, and although Thorium technology has a bright future for production of electricity and other benefits as set forth elsewhere on this Energy From Thorium website, Thorium energy technology cannot be used as an individual unit to power a car, for a multitude of reasons. The Energy From Thorium Foundation does not, in even the remotest sense, support the basis of these alleged automobile power technologies. The concept of a thorium powered car has many, many, problems.

Thorium is an interesting nuclear fuel, but its not magic. It still has many of the inherent problems of all other nuclear power. The very thing that makes nuclear power attractive (a million times more energy than conventional fuel) also carries inherent problems. Nuclear power, suitably tapped is very safe, and a very clear source of power. However the idea of using nuclear power to fuel cars is just bloody stupid. To run a car you need about 200 kW, and the idea of putting a nuclear powerplant in a car that could supply this amount of energy is just bloody stupid on almost every level. - The Thorium - Car Runs For 100 Years Without Refueling

    08/14/16 - Steam Powered Car
Solar Panels help charge a battery bank, which powers and electric water heater in a water fuel tank that creates steam to push the piston engine. The engine runs a belt driven generator 7,000 watts, which recharges the battery bank to power the electric water heater more.

The steam travels from the fuel tank through the fuel line to the intake to push the piston to rotate the crankshaft, then leaves the outtake back into the fuel tank to recycle the steam and create more pressure faster. Once a certain PSI is reached a controller regulates the power to the electric water heater to reduce the energy and shut off if needed or in emergency.

An emergency valve connects to the exhaust muffler, but you will lose the water and steam rather then recycle and condense it when the engine is not on. It would be recommended to drain the water every so often. Using an onboard or container power station, you can condense water from the air with a dehumidifier filtered, ran by the solar motor generator/steam/ hydroelectric or other engine designs or integration, as water fuel stations.

Once the PSI reaches a certain level the controller lowers or shuts off the electric water heater, while the engine runs the belt driven generator to charge the battery bank while the solar panels do at the same time. Once the battery bank is full, the controller shuts off either the solar panels or the generator or both, and grounds it, or an inverter can be used to draw more energy. - Steam Powered Car

08/14/16 - More Old Than Young: A Demographic Shock Sweeps the Globe

By 2030, 56 countries will have more people aged 65 and over than children under 15. Its known as the historic reversal, and it appears irreversible: Places where the old outnumber kids. What began in 1995 in a single country, Italy, will spread to 56 nations, economies as diverse as New Zealand and Georgia, by 2030. These are the findings of Joseph Chamie, who spent a quarter of a century studying population patterns at the United Nations in New York and now is an independent researcher.

The former UN head demographer compared population projections of kids under the age of 15 to that of people aged 65 and over. Its not just industrialized nations like Japan and Germany succumbing to the age curse. The turning point will take place in 2020 in the Cuba and South Korea, followed five years later in Thailand and the U.S. By 2075, the global population is forecast to pass the demographic milestone. Chamie refers to this as the jump from a Toys R Us society to an Olds R Us one. - More Old Than Young: A Demographic Shock Sweeps the Globe

08/14/16 - Avoiding Sun's Rays Is Misinformed Trend Causing Global Rise In Cancers
A causative link between the sun and cancer does not exist and never has. The cancer and sunscreen industries have made it their mission to convince the world that sunlight is a primary cause of skin cancer, when in fact it has been shown to prevent it and many other forms of cancer.

It is a common sight these days to come across girls riding their two-wheelers and scooties, all covered up to avoid the sun's rays on their person. They even wrap a stole around their faces, such that not an inch of their face is seen, and wear gloves to keep the sun away from their skin. Experts say that despite living in a tropical climate, it is unfortunate that many don't expose themselves to the sun to get the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of vitamin D.

According to nutritionist Dharini Krishnan we don't expose ourselves enough to the sun. "We sleep in air-conditioned bedrooms, commute in air-conditioned cars and work in air-conditioned offices. Even those who travel by bikes cover themselves from head to toe. We don't want to expose ourselves to sunlight even for a few minutes. This results in vitamin D deficiency as sunlight is the only major source of vitamin D. All we need to do is stand under the sun for 15 minutes at least three times a week. Our lifestyle is lethargic and we depend a lot on air-conditioners. It is good to get exposed to the sun from 10am to 4pm to get the needed vitamin D for our body."

Exposure to ultraviolet B radiation in sunlight provides the mechanism for more than 90% of the vitamin D production in most individuals. The widespread use of sunscreens, particularly those with high sun protection factors (SPF), may lead to a significant decrease in solar-induced previtamin D3 in the skin, resulting in a vitamin D level which is insufficient for protection against a wide range of diseases.

There are well over 800 references in the medical literature showing vitamin D's effectiveness--both for the prevention and treatment of cancer. The results, published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, showed that women who had at least 21 hours a week exposure to the suns UV rays in their teens were 29 percent less likely to get cancer than those getting under an hour a day. For women who spent the most time out side in their forties and fifties, the risk fell by 26 percent and for those above 60, sunshine halved their chances of a tumour.

Exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet light has been repeatedly shown to NOT be the cause of skin cancer. Scientists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center reported UVA exposure is unlikely to have contributed to the rise in the incidence of melanoma over the past 30 years. For melanoma, it is only latitudinal variation that favours the hypothesis of sun exposure causation. It is postulated that skin temperature by itself may suffice to account for the observed variation of melanoma with latitude. The higher incidence of melanoma in the higher social classes and its increasing incidence with age may be readily explained by the hypothesis that melanoma incidence increases with increase in skin temperature which scientists have incorrectly linked to the sun as the primary causative factor.

No scientific literature has ever proven that sunlight causes cancer in human beings. Most studies that have attempted to find a cause have only found correlations and many scientists have established the toxicity level of the human body which reacts with the UV spectrum is what causes cancer, not the sunlight itself. It's been known that vitamin D can prevent the genetic damage the leads to cancer. When vitamin D binds to specific receptors, it sets off a chain of events by which many toxic agents including cancer cells are rendered harmless. However, if there is not enough vitamin D the system can become overwhelmed and cancer can develop. "This is one of the reasons that people living closest to the equator have a much lower incidence (or absence) of specific cancers which consequently increase in locations further from the equator," said McGill professor Dr. John White.

Dr. Anthony Petaku who studies the effects of Vitamin D2 and D3 on mutating cells, says the incidence of disease increases the further away we are from the equator. "The millions of people who live near the equator are not susceptible to the same level of disease or even the same diseases as those who live further from the equator," he stated. Dr. Petaku has found that latitude studies which are observational on vitamin D and disease show a clear correlation between solar UV radiation, latitude and vitamin D status. "Almost every disease decreases in frequency and duration as we move towards equatorial populations, and the data shows that there is a minimum of a 1000 percent increase for many diseases in countries furthest from the equator..." he concluded.

Although vitamin D can be obtained from limited dietary sources and directly from exposure to the sun during the spring and summer months, the combination of poor dietary intake and sun avoidance has created vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency in large proportions of many populations worldwide. It is known that vitamin D has a wide range of physiological effects and that correlations exist between insufficient amounts of vitamin D and an increased incidence of a number of cancers. These correlations are particularly strong for cancers of the digestive tract, including colon cancer, and certain forms of leukemia.

Both UVA and UVB can cause tanning and burning, although UVB does so far more rapidly. UVA, however, penetrates your skin more deeply than UVB. UVB appears to be protective against melanoma -- or rather, the vitamin D your body produces in response to UVB radiation is protective.

In the absence of Vitamin D from sunlight, disease increases more than 1000 percent. Experts suggest that the chances of getting vitamin D from your diet are very low. And if you are a vegetarian, it is all the more difficult to gain vitamin D. What they repeatedly suggest is exposure to sunlight is the best source of vitamin D. "Besides milk products and mushrooms, a vegetarian diet does not contain much of vitamin D. Make sure to include ghee, butter and paneer," says Dr Tusna Park, author of A New Way To Eat. She adds, "Nothing can be better than the sunlight. So make sure to spend 20 minutes in the sun every day, any time between 8am and 4pm, without the application of sunscreen lotion. We can apply some coconut oil (which is mixed with water) to the exposed body parts. Keep windows open so that sunlight enters your house; walk in the sun every day, if possible; sit in an open balcony or on the terrace for 20 minutes every day so that you can receive adequate sunlight."

Lack of vitamin D may cause some serious bone-related health issues. Nutritionist Divya Sathyaraj says, "Prolonged deficiency of vitamin D may cause rickets. The growth and maintenance of bones depend on the intake of vitamin D. Lack of vitamin D may lead to tooth decay, brittle bones, retarded growth and poor bone formation in children, muscular weakness and premature ageing. Severe deficiency could also cause improper activity of the parathyroid gland and result in convulsions. Unfortunately, food cannot replace the sun and doesn't give us enough vitamin D. However, vitamin D is present in small amounts in fish oils, ghee, eggs and butter. As vitamin D is produced from a substance beneath the skin, when sunlight falls on the surface of the body we must expose ourselves to sunlight every day." - Avoiding Sun's Rays Is Misinformed Trend Causing Global Rise In Cancers

08/10/16 - What would You Do?
KeelyNet I have heard this story several times by inventors who claimed to have world changing technology that works. Some I think might not be telling the truth but at least one of them I trust as being honest and real.

The story goes that the inventor demonstrates his device, others verify it by testing his prototype or building and testing their own. Investors are ready to fund it to bring to market.

In the dark of the night, the inventor is visited by strangers (often called Men in Black) who warn that this technology cannot be allowed in the marketplace, most often for the reason that it would destroy our economy by obviating many existing technologies, companies and vested interests.

Therefore the inventor is offered the warning that his life isn't so much at risk as the lives of all his family and friends. Stop your research, stop promoting your research, do not seek a patent (it will be classified secret), do not seek investors because no product based on your discovery will ever see the light of day....OR ELSE, we will kill your family and friends. The inventor could also be jailed as a political prisoner for life along with the termination of his family and friends.

What would you do? Which is exactly what my friend did and you no longer hear anything about his research along the lines of free energy though he is active in other less risky areas. I don't know who these 'men in black' represent, government agents or some protection group for vested interests.

KeelyNet I fully suspect the criminal element know about these 'men in black' and use them in appropriate cases. It appears to be the case with the Bush and Clinton crime families where a word from Bill Clinton at a 'chance' meeting with DOJ Lynch results in her complete buckling to protect Hillary at all costs.

And by the same threat, the death of your family and friends, FBI director Comey, after his people worked on Hillarys case for over a year, buckles to deny recommendation for indictment because he finds there no grounds for charges, yet almost any lawyer in the USA finds multiple grounds for indictment, including Rudy Guiliani, Judge Napolitano and Judge Pirro. Protect Hillary or else.

Well it looks like there might be a god after all. The american people and corrupt legal system back down under death threats and threats of major blackmail and revelation of thousands who have been involved in the Clinton criminal activities, but now a breath of fresh air to find Hillary is cratering both physically and mentally.

If she makes it to the actual vote, shortly after taking office she will need to be disposed of or kicked out of office for health issues. If it comes to that, her VP Kaine will assume the presidency, opening up another can of worms.

No question Trump would wipe the stage with her in any debate, even when she was at the top of her game, she wasn't remotely a player, but time is catching up with her and I hope 'the cratering' happens before November. So we need to all get together and make sure Trump is voted in as our 45th president. And the world begins anew at that point! - JWD - What would You Do?

08/10/16 - I love my Country but Hate what they are Doing
Film-maker and political activist John Massaria joins us to introduce his new and compelling film project, I Love My Country But Hate What They Are Doing.

Featuring interviews and personal statements by well-known activists such as Dr. Daniele Ganser, Tommy Hansen, Gerald Celente, Anthony Freda, Ken O'Keefe, Gary Franchi, Ray McGovern and Joe Rogan, John Massaria's film crafts a challenging narrative of a countrythe US, the country he lovessubservient to its military-industrial complex and addicted to war.

Only by facing up this reality, and(as Anthony Rotunno put it in a previous show)"changing the discourse", will there by any chance of turning the tide and steering the world in the direction of peace and goodwill.

America relies on war for jobs? - Putin, amused, asks - "Why can't you create jobs in a sphere that does't threaten the existence of the human race?"

The Case That Wars Fuel U.S. Economic Booms - It also raises the question of what the hell we're doing ramping up the war in Afghanistan, just as it's become clear that we've lost. It's the graveyard of empires; what is Obama planning there, two consecutive losses? Has any nation ever screwed up that badly? Moreover, wars are only good for the American economy when there's something to plunder at the end of it all. What's there to plunder from Afghanistan, assuming we even win: dirt? Opium? 08/10/16 - China's $30 million project to control the weather
KeelyNet China has allocated 199 million yuan ($29.76 million) to spend on its weather modification programme as part of efforts to combat drought and reduce the impact of natural disasters. The finance ministry revealed the project earlier this month, as state media reported flooding this year caused at least 237 deaths. The Ministry of Finance said the additional funding had been made available in order to help China's regions respond to the large number of 'extreme weather events' this year, including heavy flooding in south and central regions as well as drought in the northwest.

HOW CLOUD-SEEDING WORKS - Microscopic particles of silver iodide are shot into existing clouds using land based generators or aircraft. Silver iodide is an ice-forming agent, which causes supercooled water droplets to freeze in the clouds. The 'ice embryos' interact with the surrounding water droplets, and eventually grow to snowflakes. These fall to the ground as snow or raindrops, depending on the surface temperatures. Cloud seeding can also, in some cases, cause the cloud to grow larger and last longer than it would have without the modification.

China currently uses weather modification technology - including cloud seeding - to induce rain during droughts, to reduce hail, and to clear the skies ahead of prestigious international events, including the Beijing Olympics in 2008. China aims to use weather modification technologies to create more than 60 billion cubic metres of additional rain a year by 2020, it said in a document published at the beginning of last year. Elsewhere similar technology is under development.

A team of Nevada scientists have been using a drone to control the weather. Engineers and meteorologists say they have created the first autonomous cloud seeding platform that could increase rainfall by 15 per cent. Cloud seeding involves spraying fine particles of silver iodide into a cloud system in an effort to boost the amount of rain that falls.

While this may be the first drone to perform cloud seeding, it isn't the first time the technique has been used. Last year, Arizona revealed plans to create artificial rain clouds by flying planes over the Rockies and seeding the sky with silver iodide. They hope the technology will allow them to mitigate some of the worst impacts of climate change but not everyone is convinced. - China's $30 million project to control the weather

08/10/16 - 16-year-old South African invents wonder material to fight drought
Johannesburg schoolgirl Kiara Nirghin, 16, recently won the Google Science Fair's Community Impact Award for the Middle East and Africa with her submission "No More Thirsty Crops."

Using orange peel and avocado skins, the precocious student created a super absorbent polymer (SAP) capable of storing reserves of water hundreds of times its own weight, forming reservoirs that would allow farmers to maintain their crops at minimal cost. The polymer has the added benefit of sustainability as it uses recycled and biodegradable waste products.

"Kiara found an ideal material that won't hurt the budget in simple orange peel, and through her research, she created a way to turn it into soil-ready water storage with help from the avocado," said Andrea Cohan, program leader of the Google Science Fair.

She describes the process as "trial and error," with a lot of experimentation before alighting on the perfect formula. "I started researching what an SAP was, and what they all had in common was a chain molecule polysaccharide," Nirghin recalls. "I found that orange peel has 64% polysaccharide and also the gelling agent pectin, so I saw it as a good (option). I used avocado skin due to the oil." The teenager combined the skin and peel and left the mixture in the sun, where they reacted together to form the powerfully absorbent polymer. - 16-year-old South African invents wonder material to fight drought

08/10/16 - English bars found a nifty way to (legally) ban cellphones
We know, we know young adults these days are always glued to their phones, making it harder to have ~*genuine connections*~ with other people. Of course, millennials arent the only ones fixated on their phones even when theyre supposedly out on the town, and one English bar has finally decided enough is enough.

The Gin Tub is a pub in Sussex, England with a very unique feature: A Faraday cage that essentially blocks incoming cell service. A Faraday cage works by installing copper wire mesh and tin foil (yes, those conspiracy theorists latched onto real science) around a space, diverting the invisible electomagnetic fields that swirl around electronics of all kinds. Its a neat, legal way (Gin Tub owner Steve Tyler made sure to check) way to keep patrons focused on each other.

More and more places are fixated on controlling cell phone use, particularly within the live music world. For folks like Tyler, who make their living ostensibly off of bringing people together, cell phones are a huge distraction from the real reason people should be in a space. Of course, most of us are guilty of turning to our phones to get away from people, but that should, in theory, be determined and controlled by ourselves. However, patrons of the Gin Tub are enjoying the change, and of course, Tyler is too: I think Ive hit a nerve in the world, that I think its rude, and I think society has accepted people on their phones in bars and in places where its socially unacceptable.

Hey, the next time you go out on the town, maybe youll see that Tylers approach has been picked up elsewhere. Just check your phone and then even if it works, maybe tuck it away. - English bars found a nifty way to (legally) ban cellphones

08/10/16 - Using Oxygen to Recover and Wipe out All Disease
Below is an ignored method of treating and preventing most diseases. It is so potent that it threatens the medical establishments tyrannical monopoly. All bacterial pathogens, viruses, and parasites are anaerobic and thrive in the absence of oxygen. In fact, they are poisoned by oxygen. Even cancer cells perish with abundant oxygen.

The most common and effective therapy for oxygenating is ozone therapy, which was practiced in the USA from the late 19th Century through the 1940s. But since the 1940s, the FDA and AMA have come down hard on ozone therapy in the USA, while much of Europe, Russia, Cuba, the Caribbean, and Mexico use ozone therapy now. Actually, the FDA recently warned against using hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Ozone Therapy - But, if oxygenating is so great, then why arent emphysema patients able to walk out of their wheelchairs? The O2 oxygen supplied by those canisters helps people breathe, but doesnt create the process of internally manufacturing detoxifying enzymes. The O3 ozone has an unstable atom that breaks away as O1, which penetrates tissue and serum cells more rapidly than O2. This ozone initiates unique metabolic processes. Both healing and detoxification occur rapidly as a result.

Ozone therapy is currently used successfully in Germany, Spain, Russia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Cuba and other nations. The results are astounding, and there are usually no adverse effects. Ozone is normally administered as a liquid by IV or injection and as a gas though a tube placed in the anus. Because of potential Herxheimer reactions (healing crisis) that can discourage one from continuing, full percentage dosages are usually not administered until the fourth session. Oxygenation techniques can be used simply to improve health with intense detoxification and blood cleansing.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is often effective by placing the patient in a highly pressurized chamber of pure oxygen. It has been used successfully for autism, AIDS, and Lyme Disease. This more expensive method requires specially trained personnel as well as special bulky equipment. (Here is a list of facilities.)

Oxygenating at Home - Less expensive portable hyperbaric chambers without oxygen are available for home use, though they may be less effective. Non IV use ozone generators for home use are available, but the manufacturers of these devices are often harassed or shut down by the FDA. Food grade H2O2 or hydrogen peroxide can be mixed with water and consumed as a method of oxygenating serum and tissue cells. Food grade means its pure and without stabilizers, making it safe for consumption if properly diluted. The over-the-counter is H2O2 3.5% non-food grade and stabilized with toxins. The 35% food grade H2O2 has to be properly diluted. But handling 35% hydrogen peroxide is dangerously caustic if not properly diluted. Now there are lower percentage and safer food grade hydrogen peroxides available, as low as 12%. - Using Oxygen to Recover and Wipe out All Disease

    08/10/16 - Negative Hallucinations
KeelyNet With regard to the prior post about The Secret of Invisibility, I have twice experienced a similar effect which I have learned is called a negative hallucination. At the time I was deep in concentration and someone was looking for me and walked right past and DIDNT SEE ME. I think many of us have experienced something similar where we are so intent on looking for something that it can be right in our sight, yet we do not see it. With my two experiences with others, though I noticed them, I watched and they still didnt see me though looking right at me!!! It was astounding and I never forgot itthey asked where the hell did you come from as theyd been looking and simply COULDNT SEE!!!

There is a hypnotist named Leslie LeCron who wrote a book called Experimental Hypnosis. In it he says when he goes to parties and people find out he is a hypnotist they want party he obliges. At one party he met a charming young lady who was there with her boyfriend who he also met. He hypnotized her for the amusement of the crowd and once she was under, he instructed her boyfriend to go into an adjoining room so he couldnt be seen. The boyfriend obliged and the hypnotist gave the girl a post hypnotic command that when she awoke, she would not be able to see her boyfriend until the hypnotist snapped his fingers.

So he wakes her up and the boyfriend comes back in but he has one hand behind his back so no one could see what he was holding. The girl looked right at him in amazement and people asked her whatss wrong?she asked Dont you see that!!! They asked What and she said that ROSE FLOATING IN THE AIR!!!

Everyone else could only see the boyfriend but no one knew he had the rose as he just decided to surprise her. When the hypnotist snapped his fingers, the boyfriend suddenly appeared to the girlfriend and she nearly fainted. That was when he moved his hand from his back and presented her with the rose to the total astonishment of everyone in the crowd including the hypnotist. The phenomenon is called negative hallucination where you can mask out objects. Its much like layers in a photoshopping type program where you can suppress a layer to see what is behind it.

Mental Invisibility & the Cloud of Confusion While talking to a friend recently, we both noticed a tendency to sometimes lose things. They just arent where we remembered putting them. After much searching, we go back to an area we just looked and voila, the item is suddenly there. Rather than attributing these mysterious disappearances to elves or poltergiests, we decided it must be some kind of stress induced negative hallucination, a condition where you are prevented from seeing something that you really need at the moment.

This triggered a memory of an InterNet page that talks about Spontaneous Invisibility. I asked another friend who is a psychologist if she had ever heard of any studies being done on this subject, she said not to her knowledge but she did provide the title of the book Secrets of Invisibility by Dallas resident Steve Richards (his pseudonym). Ive had this book for several years and been trying to meet Mr. Richards through a mutual friend but to date weve not been able to arrange a meeting. My friend tells me he is very secretive, partly because he published much of what he learned after swearing secrecy to various occult orders. One of his other interesting books is Practical Levitation. Both of these books used to be available from Lewellyn Press.

In the book on invisibility, Richards comments on a technique of inducing a mental confusion in your target subject. This takes two forms, one of which is a cloud or mental fog which is impressionable by anothers thoughts, the other takes advantage of the brain not wanting to deal with anything that doesnt immediately fit into the persons view of reality, such as a chaotic or complex image.

When looking towards such an area, the eye will jump past the overly complex image, seeking to find familiar visual territory that doesnt require a high degree of analysis. This phenomenon has been noted with the Indians who could not see the first Spanish ships that were clearly visible in the harbor. Only when someone else described what they were seeing, could the rest of the group begin to see the reality. Almost like a visual hundredth monkey effect. There is also a hard to find book about Russian mentalist and paranormal researcher Vasiliev. In this book, Vasiliev talks about passing a blank piece of paper to a bank teller who gives him 1000 rubles in return. He projected an image into the tellers mind that the paper was a cashiers check in the amount of 1000 rubles. The money was returned after witnesses testified to the success of the experiment.

Another experiment was based on a bet with Stalin. Many of the Russian scientists had no patience with paranomal investigations, but Vasiliev and some of his colleagues wanted to establish a research institute to investigate and perfect useful techniques. Vasiliev made a bet with Stalin that if he could appear in Stalins private study at 8PM on a specified weeknight, Stalin would agree to establish a research institute for paranormal investigations. Stalin was always heavily guarded, even at home, so he thought this would be a sure bet. On the appointed night, Stalin was sitting in front of his fireplace reading, when the clock struck 8PM, he heard a clearing of the throat, looked up and saw Vasiliev sitting in an armchair opposite him. Stalin immediately called in the guards and demanded to know how Vasiliev had gotten past all of them. Each denied they had seen Vasiliev that night. Finally, before Stalin could have them all put to death, Vasiliev explained that he had projected the image of one of Stalins most trusted advisors into the minds of the soldiers as he walked through.

This advisor was of such high rank that he was allowed to come and go without challenge by the soldiers. It was at this point that Stalin was convinced of the usefulness of psychic research and funded the highly effective Russian paranormal research efforts. - Negative Hallucinations

08/10/16 - Mystery of why sunflowers turn to follow the sun
In a newly-published article in Science, the researchers say the young plant's sun-tracking (also called heliotropism) can be explained by circadian rhythms the behavioral changes tied to an internal clock that humans also have, which follow a roughly 24 hour cycle. A young flower faces east at dawn and greets the sun, then slowly turns west as the sun moves across the sky. During the night, it slowly turns back east to begin the cycle again.

"It's the first example of a plant's clock modulating growth in a natural environment, and having real repercussions for the plant," UC Davis professor and study co-author Stacey Harmer says in a press release from the university. The researchers found that the plant's turning is actually a result of different sides of the stem elongating at different times of day. Science released this animation to illustrate the phenomenon: "Growth rates on the east side were high during the day and very low at night, whereas growth rates on the west side were low during the day and higher at night," the journal article reads. Here's more: "The higher growth rate on the east versus west side of the stem during the day enables the shoot apex to move gradually from east to west. At night, the higher growth rate on the west side culminates in the apex facing east at dawn."

The researchers tied plants up so they couldn't move or turned them away from the sun and they found those flowers eventually had "decreased biomass and less leave area" than flowers that could move with the sun. And in support of the circadian rhythm theory, plants exposed to artificial light at different intervals "could reliably track the movement and return at night when the artificial day was close to a 24-hour cycle, but not when it was closer to 30 hours," the press release states.

Mature sunflowers respond differently to the sun. According to the press release, "as overall growth slows down, the circadian clock ensures that the plant reacts more strongly to light early in the morning than in the afternoon or evening, so it gradually stops moving westward during the day." The researchers compared mature flowers facing east with those they turned to face west, and found that the east-facing blooms attracted five times as many helpful pollinators.

That's because the east-facing flowers heat up faster. And, "bees like warm flowers," as Harmer puts it. - Mystery of why sunflowers turn to follow the sun

08/10/16 - "Faster than a Speeding Bullet - The Special Effects Of Superman"
The Adventures of Superman is an American television series based on comic book characters and concepts created in 1938 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The show is the first television series to feature Superman and began filming in 1951 in California on RKO-Path stages and RKO Forty Acres back lot. Sponsored by cereal manufacturer Kellogg's, the syndicated show's first, and last, air dates are disputed but generally accepted as September 19, 1952 and April 28, 1958. The show's first two seasons (episodes 152, 26 titles per season) were filmed in black-and-white; seasons three through six (episodes 53104, 13 titles per season) were filmed in color but originally telecast monochromatically in first-run syndication. Television viewers would not see Superman in color until the series was syndicated to local stations in 1965.

George Reeves plays Clark Kent/Superman with Jack Larson as Jimmy Olsen, John Hamilton as Perry White, and Robert Shayne as Inspector Henderson. Phyllis Coates plays Lois Lane in the first season with Noel Neill stepping into the role in the second season (1953). Stories follow Superman as he battles crooks, gangsters, and other villains in the fictional city of Metropolis while masquerading "off-duty" as Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent. Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, Clark's colleagues at the office, often find themselves in dangerous situations which can only be resolved with Superman's timely intervention.

Its opening theme is known as The Superman March. In 1987, selected episodes of the show were released to video. In 2006, the series became available in its entirety on DVD. In 2006, Hollywoodland, a film dramatizing the show's production and the death of its star, George Reeves, was released. - "Faster than a Speeding Bullet - The Special Effects Of Superman"

    08/03/16 - Nikola Tesla's Pierce-Arrow Radioactive Electric Car Battery
What was the mysterious power source within Nikola Tesla's electric car experiments spanning from 1897 to 1931? Was it a primary variation of a metal hydride chemistry similar to Nickel Metal Hydride in which the hydride gel is replaced with a swelling smectite, or bentonite, or montmorillonite, or other similar healing clay? And was there radioactive salts, such as: radium bromide or thorium chloride, embedded into the clay mixture?

Off the Shelf radioactive Cosmetics available at the time - Medically, radium was usually injected or taken in pills. It was used to treat a wide range of ailments including hair loss, impotence, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, rheumatism, gout, sciatica, nephritis and anaemia. This led to a craze for radium-based products, and radioactivity in general, during the 1920s and 1930s. It was added to a wide range of commercial products including: wool for babies, water dispensers, chocolate, soda water, male supports, foundation garments, condoms, toothpaste, suppositories, cigarettes, cleaning products, boot polish, fertilisers, luminous paints and cosmetics. All of these commercial applications had a common theme; that the rays given off by radium had a vitalising effect on the human body.

Download this PDF claming to be The lost journals of Nikola Tesla - pages 88-89 - "If a lump of radium could be shielded from the effects of the ZPR, said Tesla, it would show no radioactivity. Most naturally radioactive elements are dense and unstable, that is, they are said by the Relativists to decay as radiation is em itted, to elements of lower atomic numbers. The Relativists, with whom Tesla vehemently disagreed, believe that naturally radioactive elements spontaneously lose mass in the process of such decay, so that the energy released as radioactivity, is equivalent to the lost mass according to Einstein's equation, E=mc2.

If non-radioactive elements are converted into radioactive elements by the forces of nature, what are these processes? In a New York Times article of July 11, 1937 (pg.13, col.2), in one of Tesla's famous birthday announcements, Tesla stated that he had developed a process for the manufacture of radium (transmutation from other elements), which was so efficient that it could be sold for $1.00 per pound.

He also announced that he had absolutely developed a system for the interstellar transmission of energy. He said he had been working in several laboratories, but refused to disclose their locations. His working model, he said, "...employs more than three dozen of my inventions. It is a complex apparatus, an agglomeration of parts. It could convey several thousand units of horsepower to other planets, regardless of the distance.

Traveling through a channel of less than one-half of one-millionth of a centimeter." Further, he said, "This is not an experiment. I have built, demonstrated and used it. Only a little time will pass before I can give it to the world.""

Home Nuclear Battery - power for 70 years - I recently came across a patent with the most remarkable claim. It is GB 763062A - A new apparatus for producing electric current - December 5th, 1956 - describing a low weight, compact nuclear battery which produces 10 amps at 100-110 volts for up to 70 years and requires appropriate shielding. This device produces 1000 watts and an average home requires between 5-10,000 watts so this device could be scaled up for home power. As well for electric cars which require some 30kw to 100kw to drive the electric motor.

The provision of a quartz tube is necessary for the mixture evolves a considerable amount of heat while it is reacting to the bombardment of the short waves. It is found that the tube will only last for one hour and that the tube will become discharged after an hours operation, that is to say, the radioactivity of the tube will only last for one hour and it is therefore necessary, if the unit is to be run continuously, for the transmitter to be operated for a period of some fifteen to thirty seconds duration once every hour.

With a quartz tube having an overall length of some forty five millimetres and an inside diameter of five millimetres and containing thirty milligrams of the chemical mixture, the estimated energy which will be given off from the tube for a discharge of one hour, is 10 amps at between 100 and 110 volts. To enable the tube to give off this discharge, it is only necessary to operate the transmitter at the desired frequency for a period of some fifteen to thirty seconds duration. - Nikola Tesla's Pierce-Arrow Radioactive Electric Car Battery

08/03/16 - America relies on war for jobs?
Video #1; President Putin asks the US Ambassador for his analysis on whether or not the Missile Defense System, being positioned on Russia's doorstep, is in fact a threat to Russian security? His answer attempted to dispel the argument, but came out even more disturbing. According to the US Ambassador, America needs war to create jobs.

Putin, amused, asks - "Why can't you create jobs in a sphere that does't threaten the existence of the human race?" In my previous video, which has since gone viral, Putin explains how a "defense" system is actually one element of a whole system of "offense" weaponry. (

After a terrorist attack occurs in Europe, all you have to do is take a look at the market share price of companies such as Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, as Western governments scramble to bomb some hairy terrorist hiding hole. (Have they looked in the White House??) The obvious winners of human misery are the CEO fat cats of military industrial companies.

The military-industrial complex works differently in Russia because it is not privately managed, but state run. The government does not hand out billions of [taxpayer] dollars worth of contracts to a handful of unethical parasites, and their lobbyists. This essentially removes the financial incentive from creating an ever -expanding military industrial complex in Russia.

Video #2; Putin warns US about creating problems and how he hates Hillary for what she has done to Libya, Syria and other countries

Video #3; Vladimir Putin Tries To Wake Up The American People, warns journalists about how close we are to war, but our government keeps it quiet

Video #4; EMP Bomb Threat Scenario, at least 2/3rds of the population would perish from lack of water, food and internal fighting, 90% of all americans dead within one year of an EMP attack

Video #5; What will you do when the lights go out? The power grid just received its "grade card" from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and it barely passed. (The overall rating of our antiquated electrical system was a D+.) The American Society of Civil Engineers power grid grade card rating means the energy infrastructure is in "poor to fair condition and mostly below standard, with many elements approaching the end of their service life." It further means a "large portion of the system exhibits significant deterioration" with a "strong risk of failure."

Such a designation is not reassuring ...The vulnerable state of the power grid gets very little play by mainstream media outlets. Concerns about a solar flare or an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack instantly sending us back to an 1800s existence are legitimate, but it may not take such an extreme act to render the power grid a useless tangle of wires. The majority of the United States' infrastructure and public systems evaluated by the ASCE earned a "D" rating. It would take a total of $3.6 trillion in investments by 2020 to fix everything, the report card stated. To put that number in perspective, the federal government's budget for all of 2012 was slightly more, $3.7 trillion.

The power grid has morphed in size tenfold during the past 50 years. While solar flares, cyber attacks, and an EMP are perhaps the most extensive and frightening threats to the electrical system, the infrastructure could just as easily fail in large portions due to weather-related events. The power grid is basically a ticking time bomb which will spawn civil unrest, lack of food, clean water, and a multitude of fires if it does go down. ""

In one Putin video he talks about the arms buildup which drains the resources of every country who participates. He warns that Russia now has a secret weapon that can neutralize the USA in less than 30 minutes. Though he does not specify what this method is, you can see it is EMP, from missles or satellites that would take the USA into a Mad Max world. - JWD - America relies on war for jobs?

08/03/16 - FBI Director Comey was board member of HSBC Clinton Foundation & Drug Cartel bank of choice
Much has been made recently about the FBI and the Department of Justice letting off favored presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for admittedly mishandling classified information and using her own private email servers to do state business during her time as US Secretary of State. FBI Director James Comey was manning the key choke-point in the decision to not hold Clinton accountable for what so many before her have received convictions for. What many are not aware of is the political and organizational links between Hillary Clinton and James Comey behind the curtain of international high finance.

An argument can be made that FBI Director James Comey has multiple conflicts of interest when it comes to interfacing with the great and the good, and the Clintons in particular. Based on the evidence available to hand one could easily flag-up Comeys relationships and past and present involvement with questionable banks, and the Clintons as a type of conflict of interest (albeit indirect), if not an accessory to institutional corruption, where Comeys role as a top-level fixer is self evident fixing outcomes for those members of an elite international club of high finance and organized crime.

Many are unaware that Comeys served on the board of banking giant HSBC (international drug money clearing house), a bank implicated in international money laundering, including the laundering of billions on behalf of international drugs and narcotics trafficking cartels, before parachuting softly into the head of the FBI in 2013. Thats only the beginning

It appears that James Comey (who is actually a lawyer by trade) also has long history of cases ending favorable to Clintons, including the case of Sandy Berger, a former Clinton Administration aid. During the Berger probe, Comey said publicly that we take issues of classified information very seriously, all the while seeming to undermine the scope of the investigation presumably to protect the Clintons.

Comey Oversaw Drug Cartel Money Laundering Operations As a Top Executive At HSBC Bank

Before becoming the director of the FBI, Director Comey, worked at the criminal bank of HSBC which laundered drug cartel and terrorist drug money in the worst banking scandal in US history.

My best insider source states that FBI Director James Comey has absolutely no law enforcement background, and is not qualified to run the FBI. To add insult to injury, the FBI Director held an executive position at HSBC Bank, while extreme money laundering operations where being carried out by the Mexican Drug Cartel and their terrorist allies with the direct assistance of HSBC banking officials. I asked my source if Comey would have known, and he replied he would have to have been drunk 24/7 to not know what was going on.

As the caption indicates, Comey has a very questionable background after having worked at HSBC bank, one of the most scandalous banks in history. So, should we be surprised that Comey essentially gave Clinton a walk, despite her blatant criminality? Better yet, why isnt he investigating Attorney General, Loretta Lynch(mob) in regard to her conflict of interest meeting with Bill Clinton, regarding Hillarys fate. That is because the FBI Director is just ass dirty as Lynch and the Clintonistas.

Comey did not just work at HSBC bank as his resume indicates (see below). He was on the Executive Board at the very time the HSBC scandal was breaking. There is no way he did not know as he looked the other way. And when he was vetted for his job as FBI Director, they knew then, he was in a key position of an organization that was caught laundering Mexican drug cartel money for the Sinoloas, the Los Zetas and their terrorist allies. Yet, despite this information which is publicly available, he was made the FBI Director with no law enforcement background! Now, are surprised that he just issued a de facto pardon for criminal Hillary over the email scandal? - FBI Director Comey was board member of HSBC Clinton Foundation & Drug Cartel bank of choice

08/03/16 - In 15 years, we could be flying in silent planes that emit zero fumes
With his historic 1927 flight, Charles Lindbergh won the $25,000 prize offered by New York hotel owner Raymond Orteig for the first nonstop flight between New York City and Paris. In this millennium, Erik Lindbergh has taken a page from his ancestors book, spending a decade helping award Lindbergh Foundation prizes to small companies that advance electric-aircraft development.

One went to e-volo GmbH, a company based in Karlsruhe, Germany, that made history in March with the first manned flight of its innovative Volocopter a two-seat multicopter powered by 18 electric rotors on a circular frame. The craft looks like a drone on steroids. Lindbergh also has served on the board of the XPrize Foundation, whose $10 million Ansari X Prize has nurtured private space travel. He hopes to see the XPrize Foundation offer a similar reward for electric-aircraft achievement.

Vertical takeoff and landing aircraft or as experts call them, VTOLs (pronounced VEE-talls) are the hardest to design. Airplanes rolling down a runway get lift from their wings, but in order to climb straight up into the air, a machine has to produce a pound of downward thrust for every pound it weighs. Thats one reason helicopters are so loud. Electric motors are relatively quiet. But batteries are relatively heavy. And the lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries prevalent today provide only about a tenth the power per pound as aviation fuel.

Lithium-battery fires, which can be caused by a chemical chain reaction called thermal runaway, also pose a risk, prompting the FAA to impose restrictions on shipping such batteries by air. The Holy Grail is vertical takeoff and landing quiet enough it doesnt piss off your neighbors. That will change how we move around the planet. - Erik Lindbergh

And yet Lindbergh, who still recalls the thrill of flying an electric ultralight aircraft and hearing a dog barking far below, believes that the necessary breakthroughs in electric aviation will come. Whats more, using electric motors rather than combustion engines to generate power, and wires instead of complex mechanical conduits to transmit that power, could ultimately help solve a host of stubborn aeronautical-engineering problems. There are a lot of people around the world who are spending millions of dollars right now trying to develop electric-powered VTOL aircraft for personal use, said Mike Hirschberg, executive director of the American Helicopter Society International. We are at the cusp of a revolution in electric flight.

Google co-founder Larry Page, through a secretive company called Zee.Aero, is said to be among those people. So is Joby Aviation founder JoeBen Bevirt, who is working on an all-electric, 200-mph VTOL suitable for use as an air taxi among other ideas. - In 15 years, we could be flying in silent planes that emit zero fumes

08/03/16 - The Case That Wars Fuel U.S. Economic Booms
The Republican right unintentionally raised a very serious issue, but no one seems to want to call them on it, not even their own supporters. The can of worms they've opened leads to this: what if America's booms and busts are tied not to monetary policy, taxation levels or government regulation, but rather to our success or failure as an imperialist war machine? What if our wealth is a consequence of our ability to plunder the world's wealth, often by default thanks to our competitors' suicidal behavior?

Consider this very simple, surface chronology of the past 100 years (and why not stick with the surface -- after all economics, despite all of its complex statistical mathematics, has turned out to be little more than glorified astrology):

1914-1918: World War I. America ends up on the winning side at comparative little cost in American lives, no destruction to the homeland or to our economy. Whereas America's European competitors commit mass suicide both demographically and economically. This is followed by:

1920-1929: One of the greatest boom decades in American history. No great wars, no new mass suicide by competitors. That is, nothing new to plunder. This leads to:

1929-1939: The Great Depression. No new wars, no new imperial expansion, and with it, feeble economic expansion. This is followed by:

1939-1945: World War II. America ends up on the winning side at comparative little cost in American lives, no damage to the American homeland. America's European and Asian competitors commit mass suicide both demographically and economically. Global markets (minus Communist world) are America's for the taking. Which leads to:

1945-1960: American economic boom. America's economy makes up half of the world's GDP in 1950, and rides its biggest sustained boom in U.S. history, including an unprecedented rise in living standards.

1945-1960: French and British empires, already weakened competitors of America's empire, decline and collapse for good, allowing the American empire to expand further by filling the vacuum. America fights Korean War 1950-52; wisely halts it to a draw after just 2 years, meaning little net gain or loss. Communist empire expands -- communist countries by nature are uncompetitive against the U.S. economically, except inasmuch as they deny markets to U.S. goods and keep the empire in check. This leads to:

1960-1970: The American economic boom, still riding off the momentum of the World War II wealth transfer, gradually begins to sputter as the decade wears on. This economic decline accelerates in tandem with:

1963-1975: America loses its first war ever in Vietnam. With its first imperial defeat, the American empire is in retreat. Once-compliant countries from Latin America to the Middle East assert themselves; Third World becomes increasingly either socialist or "non-aligned"; America plunders less and less of the world's wealth. This leads to:

1970s: Economic stagnation, decline in standard of living. This eventually leads to the election of an avowed American imperialist, Ronald Reagan, which is followed by:

1981-1989: American economy ramped up for Cold War against "Evil Empire." Reagan racks up massive debt and pours enormous state funds into "winning" the Cold War against the "evil empire." Militarizes the economy and the culture. Imperial decline halted. Latin America reabsorbed into soft American empire, while many Arab states also become more compliant, especially following the bombing of Libya. Fund war against Soviets in Afghanistan, letting them bleed, without any damage to American homeland. This leads to:

1980s: American economy begins to grow again, though still not as fast as in the 60s or 50s, the period after victory in World War II.

1989-1991: American victory in the "Cold War": the Communist empire collapses. American empire absorbs these new markets without firing a shot or suffering damage in the homefront, opening up massive new opportunities for wealth plunder. America's biggest economic competitor, Japan, essentially collapses. In 1991, America wins Gulf War 1, its first big war victory since Vietnam. American empire, without rivals, suddenly resurgent again. This leads to:

1990s: Economic boom, which accelerates towards the end of the decade, reaching levels of growth not seen since the 50s and 60s.

2001: Brief recession which many say will spell doom to America's booming economy. But then:

2001-2: America wins war against Afghanistan, leading to world recognizing for the first time that America is not only an empire, but a "hyperpower." Economy quickly turns around and begins to boom again, until:

2003-8: America loses only its second war in its history against Iraq. The victory in Afghanistan slowly unwinds and starts morphing into another defeat. That's two war losses in one decade. Which leads to:

    2007-present: The new Great Depression.

So if you follow the Republican right-wing's own logic, the question isn't whether or not we should raise or lower taxes, or whether we should fund programs that teach kids about STDs. America's economic booms and busts have nothing to do with Adam Smith's three-pointed-hat Calvinist fantasies and everything to do with whether we win or lose wars, and, more importantly, if our competitors commit mass suicide in these wars, allowing us to ride in at the end, after our competitors have bankrupted and bled themselves to death, as we did in World Wars I and II, and again in the Cold War.

The more we behave like sly jackals feeding on the steaming, nutrition-rich corpses of other peoples' collapsed empires, the stronger our economy, and the better we live (the more we can cut our taxes or increase our social spending or both, depending on the amount we've plundered). But if we start a war, fight it by ourselves, and lose -- as the idiots did in Iraq and in Vietnam and now in Afghanistan -- then prepare for the Big Decline.

University of Chicago professor Robert Pape recently characterized America's imperial collapse as: "one of the largest relative declines in modern history. Indeed, in size, it is clearly surpassed by only one other great-power decline, the unexpected internal collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991."

It also raises the question of what the hell we're doing ramping up the war in Afghanistan, just as it's become clear that we've lost. Opium? (Well, OK, I'm all for the opium, but even I know that won't create a nation of happy nuclear families; happy junkies, yes, but not wealthy new homeowners.)

If war is what fuels American prosperity, as George Wills and others on the right are half-arguing in their sly, cowardly way, then have the guts to say so, and stop lying about private enterprise. - The Case That Wars Fuel U.S. Economic Booms

08/03/16 - Peter Thiel Is Very, Very Interested in Young People's Blood
KeelyNet More than anything, Peter Thiel, the billionaire technology investor and Donald Trump supporter, wants to find a way to escape death. He's channeled millions of dollars into startups working on anti-aging medicine, spends considerable time and money researching therapies for his personal use, and believes society ought to open its mind to life-extension methods that sound weird or unsavory.

Speaking of weird and unsavory, if there's one thing that really excites Thiel, it's the prospect of having younger people's blood transfused into his own veins. That practice is known as parabiosis, and, according to Thiel, it's a potential biological Fountain of Youth--the closest thing science has discovered to an anti-aging panacea. Research into parabiosis began in the 1950s with crude experiments that involved cutting rats open and stitching their circulatory systems together. After decades languishing on the fringes, it's recently started getting attention from mainstream researchers, with multiple clinical trials underway in humans in the U.S. and even more advanced studies in China and Korea.

In Monterey, California, about 120 miles from San Francisco, a company called Ambrosia recently commenced one of the trials. Titled "Young Donor Plasma Transfusion and Age-Related Biomarkers," it has a simple protocol: Healthy participants aged 35 and older get a transfusion of blood plasma from donors under 25, and researchers monitor their blood over the next two years for molecular indicators of health and aging. The study is patient-funded; participants, who range in age from late 30s through 80s, must pay $8,000 to take part, and live in or travel to Monterey for treatments and follow-up assessments.

Ambrosia's founder, the Stanford-trained physician Jesse Karmazin, has been studying aging for more than a decade. He became interested in launching a company around parabiosis after seeing impressive data from animals and studies conducted abroad in humans: In one trial after another, subjects experience a reversal of aging symptoms across every major organ system. While the mechanisms at play aren't totally understood, he said, young organisms' blood not only contains all sorts of proteins that improve cell function; somehow it also prompts the recipients' body to increase its production of those proteins. "The effects seem to be almost permanent," he says. "It's almost like there's a resetting of gene expression."

While Ambrosia advertised the study to attract participants, it didn't seek broader coverage. So Karmazin was somewhat surprised to get a message from Jason Camm, chief medical officer at Thiel Capital, who expressed interest in what the company was doing. (Karmazin said he hasn't reached out to any investors: "I'd really want to talk about what the business model would be.")

Anyone seeking to practice parabiosis privately would quickly encounter the question of where to obtain sufficient quantities of young people's blood. But human blood isn't available for purchase to just anybody. A spokeswoman for the Food and Drug Administration says the agency "regulates the collection and manufacture of blood and blood components to help protect the health of the blood donor and to ensure the safety, purity and potency of the blood product." While it's not approved specifically for anti-aging treatments, like other drugs, it can be prescribed for so-called off-label uses as long as there is no advertising or efficacy claims involved.

Clinical trials like Ambrosia's can get blood from blood banks fairly easily for that purpose, but Ambrosia is a for-profit company. For it to begin selling transfusions as a service to patient clients like Thiel, it would presumably need to figure out a source other than non-profit blood banks. - Peter Thiel Is Very, Very Interested in Young People's Blood

08/03/16 - Delphi to Begin Testing On-Demand Robot Taxis in Singapore
The test will involve six autonomous autos, starting with the modified Audi Q5 the supplier used last year to travel from San Francisco to New York in self-driving mode. In Singapore, the cars initially will follow three predetermined routes and by 2019 will range freely based on customer requests, without a driver or a human minder, according to Glen DeVos, a Delphi senior vice president.

We actually will have point-to-point automated mobility on demand with no driver in the car, he said at a briefing with reporters at Delphis Troy, Michigan, operations base. Its one of the first, if not the very first, pilot programs where well demonstrate mobility-on-demand systems.

Singapores Land Transport Authority chose Delphi for the test as the city, like congested urban areas globally, looks to driverless vehicles to address growing gridlock. It asked Delphi to provide robot rides to get commuters to mass-transit stations so fewer cabs will be clogging the roads, DeVos said. Automakers are pouring money into developing autonomous cars as more than 9 billion people are expected to move to megacities over the next 25 years. Self-driving cars moving in harmony are expected to eventually ease congestion and make roads safer.

Singapore is a small island and right now for the individual to get to the mass-transit systems, its not easy, DeVos said. As a technology hub, the city is really trying to lead the world in addressing urban congestion. - Delphi to Begin Testing On-Demand Robot Taxis in Singapore

08/03/16 - New flywheel energy storage system
KeelyNet The energy storage market in the US alone is estimated to be worth $200-600billion in 10 years. While most research and development efforts have been focused on improving battery technologies, a Lancaster student believes a mechanical solution could provide the answer. Abigail Carson, 21, who has completed her third year studying Mechanical Engineering at Lancaster, has created a superfast design for a Flywheel Energy Store (FES). The design, which was a self-proposed project as part of her MEng degree course, could have a wide number of uses, most notably for the storage of electricity generated by renewable sources such as wind turbines or solar panels.

"The global energy crisis is the biggest and most urgent problem that needs addressing," said Miss Carson. "The Flywheel Energy Store can be used for a vast range of applications most significantly in providing energy security and independence for everyone globally, but also including eliminating waste in power networks, pumping water to villages and allowing for cleaner cooking and heating in developing countries, instant charging of electric vehicles, and off-grid energy storage." The FES retains energy kinetically in a levitated floating mass. The rotor, which can be made from composites such as carbon fibre, is permanently levitated as opposed to electromagnetically, not requiring additional control mechanisms and so does not need maintenance or user input. A smart telemetry set (monitoring equipment) would be included.

From simulations and calculations, the power rating of the FES can be tailored and has the potential to reach the substantial MegaWatt range. Although with the initial aim of rotating at 100,000rpm, Miss Carson's figures show her design can easily rotate at 144,000rpm without any adjustment - this is massively more powerful and quicker than most existing designs, which can spin at around 60,000rpm.

Miss Carson's design is a unit around the size of a football, which is ideal for domestic uses. However, the potential can be scaled up to industrial applications through a stacking approach using many units together on the same network to provide a bigger energy store. Using multiple individual units means that if one was affected, the whole system would not need shutting down a key advantage on some huge single unit systems. The FES also offers several advantages over other energy storage devices, such as batteries.

"The lifespan of the FES is around 30 years, which is much longer than that for batteries," said Miss Carson. "Batteries cannot withstand power transfer pattern variations they suffer very badly from charging and discharging abuse. This is not a problem for the FES, which is virtually immune to this sort of abuse. "Batteries are unable to match the ramping rate (how quickly the energy can be charged or discharged) of a FES. This is important for when large amounts of energy are needed, such as smoothing out supply and demand on large energy networks. "In addition, my FES has a design that can be recycled which is impossible for batteries." - New flywheel energy storage system

08/03/16 - 8 months of carrot juice to cure lung cancer?
KeelyNet Such is the story of Ann Cameron, the author of Curing Cancer with Carrots, who successfully treated her cancer in large part due to her consumption of carrot juice. In 2012 Ann found out that she had stage 3 colon cancer. She took a semi-conventional route and had a surgery, but flat-out refused chemotherapy. Six months later, she learned she had tumors in her lungs. Her prognosis was poor: 2-3 years, and maybe a few years longer with chemotherapy, as she explained to Chris Beat Cancer.

She started researching for alternatives, well aware that not every treatment works for everyone. Her own husband tried a variety of natural remedies before passing from lung cancer in 2005. In my own case, I looked for a different approach. Many proposed natural treatments were very complicated and there was no proof about which parts of them worked. You could spend your entire day doing nothing but taking one thing after another against cancer, without having any idea if any of them were effective, she told

But Ann did come across something that was worth a try, acting on advice from a man who was not selling anything, but sharing his own personal success story. Ralph Cole recommended juicing five pounds of carrots and drinking it daily. From his experience, it helped clear cancer that he had in his neck. Ann also heard of others having success of carrot juice with other types of cancers as well. The carrot juice treatment requires five pounds of carrots daily.

In November 2012, Ann started drinking carrot juice making it herself using either an Omega Juicer, or later a Champion Juicer. She decided against any conventional treatments at that time, and she also made no other dietary changes. She even kept eating ice cream, which she does not recommend to others. Eight weeks later, the tumors in her lungs stopped growing. In July 2013 8 months later a new scan showed no signs of cancer.

When Ann finally told her doctor what she did, the oncologist said she personally believes that many natural methods do work, but she cannot recommend them due to a lack of formal studies. Ann believes that if a person is in a generally good health despite the cancer diagnosis, that trying carrot juice for a few weeks to see if that works is much better than immediately signing on to the toxic, side-effect-ridden chemotherapy. From her own words:

I believe that a newly diagnosed person like me, still in generally good health, could safely put off chemotherapy for eight weeks to see if five pounds of carrots daily, as juice, will halt the growth of cancer. If the carrots work, one might continue postponing chemo as long as the carrots continue to arrest the cancer and, one hopes, eventually eliminate it entirely.

KeelyNet BBS Files w/bonus PDF of 'Keely and his Discoveries'
KeelyNet Finally, I've gotten around to compiling all the files (almost 1,000 - about 20MB and lots of work doing it) from the original KeelyNet BBS into a form you can easily navigate and read using your browser, ideally Firefox but it does work with IE. Most of these files are extremely targeted, interesting and informative, I had forgotten just how much but now you can have the complete organized, categorized set, not just sprinklings from around the web. They will keep you reading for weeks if not longer and give you clues and insights into many subjects and new ideas for investigation and research. IN ADDITION, I am including as a bonus gift, the book (in PDF form) that started it all for me, 'Keely and his Discoveries - Aerial Navigation' which includes the analysis of Keely's discoveries by Dr. Daniel G. Brinton. This 407 page eBook alone is worth the price of the KeelyNet BBS CD but it will give you some degree of understanding about what all Keely accomplished which is just now being rediscovered, but of course, without recognizing Keely as the original discoverer. Chapters include; Vibratory Sympathetic and Polar Flows, Vibratory Physics, Latent Force in Interstitial Spaces and much more. To give some idea of how Keely's discoveries are being slowly rediscovered in modern times, check out this Keely History. These two excellent bodies of information will be sent to you on CD. 'The Evolution of Matter' and 'The Evolution of Forces' on CD
KeelyNet Years ago, I had been told by several people, that the US government frequently removes books they deem dangerous or 'sensitive' from libraries. Some are replaced with sections removed or rewritten so as to 'contain' information that should not be available to the public despite the authors intent. A key example was during the Manhattan Project when the US was trying to finalize research into atomic bombs. They removed any books that dealt with the subject and two of them were by Dr. Gustave Le Bon since they dealt with both energy and matter including radioactivity. I had been looking for these two books for many years and fortunately stumbled across two copies for which I paid about $40.00 each. I couldn't put down the books once I started reading them. Such a wealth of original discoveries, many not known or remembered today. / Page 88 - Without the ether there could be neither gravity, nor light, nor electricity, nor heat, nor anything, in a word, of which we have knowledge. The universe would be silent and dead, or would reveal itself in a form which we cannot even foresee. If one could construct a glass chamber from which the ether were to be entirely eliminated, heat and light could not pass through it. It would be absolutely dark, and probably gravitation would no longer act on the bodies within it. They would then have lost their weight. / Page 96-97 - A material vortex may be formed by any fluid, liquid or gaseous, turning round an axis, and by the fact of its rotation it describes spirals. The study of these vortices has been the object of important researches by different scholars, notably by Bjerkness and Weyher. They have shown that by them can be produced all the attractions and repulsions recognized in electricity, the deviations of the magnetic needle by currents, etc. These vortices are produced by the rapid rotation of a central rod furnished with pallets, or, more simply, of a sphere. Round this sphere gaseous currents are established, dissymetrical with regard to its equatorial plane, and the result is the attraction or repulsion of bodies brought near to it, according to the position given to them. It is even possible, as Weyher has proved, to compel these bodies to turn round the sphere as do the satellites of a planet without touching it. / Page 149 - "The problem of sending a pencil of parallel Hertzian waves to a distance possesses more than a theoretical interest. It is allowable to say that its solution would change the course of our civilization by rendering war impossible. The first physicist who realizes this discovery will be able to avail himself of the presence of an enemy's ironclads gathered together in a harbour to blow them up in a few minutes, from a distance of several kilometres, simply by directing on them a sheaf of electric radiations. On reaching the metal wires with which these vessels are nowadays honeycombed, this will excite an atmosphere of sparks which will at once explode the shells and torpedoes stored in their holds. With the same reflector, giving a pencil of parallel radiations, it would not be much more difficult to cause the explosion of the stores of powder and shells contained in a fortress, or in the artillery sparks of an army corps, and finally the metal cartridges of the soldiers. Science, which at first rendered wars so deadly, would then at length have rendered them impossible, and the relations between nations would have to be established on new bases." - More Info

KeelyNetThis eBook is the result of years of research into various methods to increase mileage, reduce pollution and most importantly, reduce overall fuel costs. It starts out with the simplest methods and offers progressively more detailed technologies that have been shown to reduce fuel costs. As a bonus to readers, I have salted the pages with free interesting BONUS items that correlate to the relevant page. Just filling up with one tank of gas using this or other methods explained here will pay for this eBook. Of course, many more methods are out there but I provided only the ones which I think are practical and can be studied by the average person who is looking for a way to immediately reduce their fuel costs. I am currently using two of the easier methods in my own vehicle which normally gets 18-22 mpg and now gets between 28 and 32 mpg depending on driving conditions. A tank of gas for my 1996 Ford Ranger costs about $45.00 here so I am saving around $15-$20 PER TANK, without hurting my engine and with 'greener' emissions due to a cleaner burn! The techniques provided in this ebook begin with simple things you can do NOW to improve your mileage and lower your gas costs. - eBook Download / More Info

The Physics of the Primary State of Matter
KeelyNet The Physics of the Primary State of Matter - published in the 1930s, Karl Schappeller described his Prime Mover, a 10-inch steel sphere with quarter-inch copper tubing coils. These were filled with a material not named specifically, but which is said to have hardened under the influence of direct current and a magnetic field [electro-rheological fluid]. With such polarization, it might be guessed to act like a dielectric capacitor and as a diode... - More Info

    Guidelines for Alternative Science

Alternative science covers a wide range of interests. Generally, it includes gravity control, free energy, electronic healing techniques, all forms of energy conversion, antigravity, levitation, overunity, time travel (as well as slowing down or speeding up local time).

Also clearly covered is the art of power generation (ideally zero point or aether conversion), space travel, physics of matter and energy, sound/acoustics and how it can be used to produce useful phenomena, electric or magnetic forces to produce useful phenomena, various types of motors, vacuum energy, dimensional travel and shifts, medicine, hydrogen generation and how it is used.

It also covers oil/petroleum and how it can be used to produce energy and products, weather control for cancelling earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, floods and to produce rain or clear weather on demand, oxygen/ozone therapy, nitrogen as a motor driver, water generation and manipulation via steam and vacuum, ecological restoration techniques, biophysics, rejuvenation and an unending list of other subjects, most of which are accepted by 'orthodox' science.
